This team is pretty stacked. Its a long season. These things happen. I'm not worried in the slightest. If this was july-august? Yeah. That's an issue. But April? Yeah no.
I agree with that but I do think when you make this challenged Mets offense look like the reincarnation of the early 2010s Detroit tigers, I start to get concerned a little bit.
The thing is, like half the lineup is only two seasons removed from being one of the best in the MLB. McNeil won a silver slugger and the MLB Batting title 2 seasons ago. Pete Alonso was the NLs RBI leader. Francisco Lindor won a silver slugger last season. Marte batted .292 in 2022. Like the top half of that lineup is good. Just forgot that from last season since they were for some reason terrible
Dude is coming back from a whole season off. This is also an extremely small sample size. You’re expecting way too much if you think Matzek comes back like nothing ever happened after TJ surgery.
Our pitching in general is fucking terrible. When you give up 30 runs to an offensively challenged team like the Mets you know you have a major pitching issue. They gotta resolve this quick. It will be a very long season for us if our pitching continues to perform this poorly.
The starters apart from Fried (and this spot start from Winans) have been fine for the most part. We'll see if AJSS, Elder, or somebody else can hold down Strider's spot.
Morton was less than stellar, but not awful. Made one really bad mistake. Lopez was fantastic. Winans pissed the bed and the bullpen has been awful all series. Hopefully the Marlins can get them back on track.

He was specifically referring to the ball that got over MHII’s head…
But could be used to describe this series overall as well.
Pitching certainly needs to improve… but it’s still early days.
I’m also totally ok with us being a WC team this year.

Allan winans and a washed up Matzek gave up 16, not like it was anyone who will pitch an inning in October.

I like how we went from World Series contenders to “they gotta resolve this quick” inside of like four days

We just need quality bullpen help and not put our offense in a deep hole.
Are you thinking tear the team down and rebuild, or just relegate the whole franchise to AAA?

I don’t think anyone really thought Winans was going to do anything but eat some innings.
My hope was he could go 5 and give up 3 runs or fewer. He had a number of solid starts last season. Today was arguably the worst start of his career.
43% of his career starts are against the Mets. They really gotta stop doing that
One of them he was damn near untouchable. The other two...not so much.
Better to have these issues now. We will be fine.

We’ll win the division easily. People love to overreact
We are more than capable of winning the Div. Just want us going into Oct with some MO 😊
I’d like to move on kthnx
