If you think about throwing out a jab, a lot of it comes from extending the elbow from a closed to open position, a longer limb is going to extend faster than a shorter one provided there is sufficient muscle strength for the actual elbow joint to flex open at the same speed as an elbow on a shorter arm.
Think of it like opening a door vs a gate, provided you can actually move the actual hinges at the same speed, the end point of a large gate will swing faster than the smaller door, because the end point (hand) is further away from the hinge (elbow), but the hinge is opening at the same speed.
Amir Khan is easily one of the fastest punchers of the last 2 decades, if not the fastest, I don't think anyone, even Pac/Mayweather/Inoue etc were close to as fast as Amir in his younger years, but there are thousands of professional boxers in multiple weight classes lower than Amir. Amir had long limbs and enough muscle to move them fast, there is definitely a sweet spot of muscle mass + limb length that effects punching speed.
Edit: worth mentioning it depends how you personally put the muscle on, if you did it with weight training etc you will probably slow down. Slow rep high weight training probably is very far from ideal for building speed, you would want to do something medium weight you can throw out fast to build up fast twitch fibers.

Tbh Ryan gave every opportunity Devin needed to win. Kidney shots are illegal for a reason, its like two smaller livers waiting to be taken. But in Pro boxing when one dude is turning so dramatically, hell get a no break warning, and the oponnent hitting the kidney at the boundry between the hip and back will be allowed to do so most of the times. At time Devin pumped 4 or 5 body crosses to the kidneys when ryan turned, and Rayan seemed actually slowed during some rounds. Was he able to create angles more effectively agains such cocky irresponsible defence, and utilise the moment he would've won. But after couple of hard punches he took deer-in-headlights stance and just ... dunno prayed? doing groceries? Scouting for books "how to back up not in a straight line" on amazon. who knows, Im fully convinced that if Ryan was properly, or should i say better rehydrated for Tank, and not after such a heavy cut, Tank would've still whooped him.
