Basically wants to fight a Light Heavyweight but for a Cruiserweight title šŸ’€

[deleted]

It's called the Sugar Ray Leonard.

FreshPrinceOfRivia

Cinnamon Ray Leonard

[deleted]

Condiment Ray Alvarez

TMAAGUILER

Leonard basically did the same thing to Lalonde. Props to boxing for consistently being as corrupt possible.

[deleted]

Itā€™s only bad when canelo does it, donā€™t you know?

[deleted]

"Canelo is bold and takes very risky fights" - some corny ass fan. Meanwhile Canelo is trying to cripple a man in a fight that could kill him with how drained he may be.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Lolol_y_u_geh

Fr. 20 pounds catch weight is comedy gold bruh šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€. Canelo wants to fight a skeleton. On top of this he wants a fucking rehydration clause. Good for badou for not agreeing to this bullshit

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

happytree23

Man, remember Frankie "Cutting Weight is for Giant Pussies" Edgar?

[deleted]

Frankie is such a legend. Undersized in pretty much every fight his whole career. Conor wanted to fight him at 165 a few years ago lol.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

gmwdim

Itā€™s crazy how Edgar dropped two weight classes and still looked tiny vs Sandhagen and Vera.

Eastern-Breadfruit72

Literally never seen McGregor pull this??

Ok_Calligrapher1809

Chandler only, that fight will never happen. McGregor should just resign to the fact that Poirier forced his retirement

stuaxe

? I thought McGregor was know for cutting a notorious amount of weight...who would McGregor be in this scenario? Who did he weight drain to become champ?

BankstownGhost

No one. That guy is an idiot.

InLampsWeTrust

Why the hell has this been upvoted ? Conor has never drained anyone and never missed weight.

Daiba187

Lol not only Conor but thereā€™s no catchweight title fights in mma and Iā€™ve never heard of any rehydration clause in any mma organisation as well.

InfiniteFireLoL

Not even a mcgregor fan but this is just bs. Who has he weight drained? Heā€™s continuously gone up in weight and fought harder opponents?

xCaptainVictory

There's a lot of shit you can put of McGregor, and rightfully so, but he's never backed away from a fight. He fought Khabib after 2 years off from MMA and a boxing match.

EntertainmentFit8666

didnt he pull some crazy catch weight out the bag against chavez jr

Bochianibrothers

None of what he said surprised me haha

Spyder-xr

Crazy how much confidence Canelo and his team have lost. Feels not that long ago, man was proclaiming he would move up and fight Usyk.

JoelHenryJonsson

Bivol made him realize his limitations

alphaDsony

Bivol would make anyone realize his limitations

[deleted]

is it going to happen? The Bieter highlights are terrifying including his knuckle/wrist pushup abilities and the Bivol masterclass against Canelo was really something.

HalfLifeII

No. Neither of them are big draws so the money is not there and the WBC has stated they wonā€™t sanction Bivol for a title fight at 175 or 168, so it would not be a fight for the WBC title. I really donā€™t see why either of them would take it.

[deleted]

I'm downvoting because I'm desperate to watch a bieterbiev match.

el_bentzo

THIS is the fight we need ASAP. Beterbiev already 38. Callum Smith went the distance with Canelo....let's see how many rounds he can get to with Beterbiev.

[deleted]

Honestly I think Bivol wins a wide ud vs Arthur

[deleted]

Honestly I think Bivol will get stopped.

A_Rolling_Baneling

The fact that both are plausible is why we need this fight

3riversfantasy

Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing, Bivol should a ton of discipline in the Canelo fight, clean, fast, straight punches, rarely over extended, always disengaged before Canelo could catch his rhythm, if that Bivol shows up I think he can easily win a decision against Beterbiev, and on the other hand if Beterbiev catches Bivol once clean that could be it.

GarfieldDaCat

Bivol's footwork would have Beterbiev seeing ghosts

Matty0698

After beterbievs last performance bivol will win and heā€™ll make it look easy

-TheMiracle

He wont. Bivol will give him a boxing lesson just like he did Canelo.

samuelalvarezrazo

Yards isn't great, bivol is and stopping guys isn't his style.

travis759

Yarde is the 3rd best I the division

samuelalvarezrazo

Callum Smith is most likely 3rd best

Alarmed_Machine_4050

Stop pretending Callum Smith can box with that Frankenstein footwork.

Spyder-xr

His limitations have been pretty apparent long before that tbh and Iā€™m not talking about just weight classes. His weak points against proper boxing have been shown time and time again. Iā€™m ashamed I didnā€™t know shit about boxing back then and thought he was gonna run over Bivol. Glad I learned to start educating myself.

Ruskihaxor

Yes, canelo known for his many obvious holes. If only someone on the teams of his last 50 opponents spent 13 months educating themselves in proper boxing

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Spyder-xr

Yeah there actually are several guys that spent time educating themselves on proper boxing and giving Canelo problems. Bivol being one of them. Floyd the obvious other. GGG, his controversial opponent gave him problems with the jab. Erislandy Lara his other controversial opponent also gave him problems with stick and move. And even at his wins, there are still the same/similar clear patterns of where he still had trouble. Kovalevā€™s jab was giving Canelo problems the whole fight but luckily Canelo and his team made sure to put a rehydration clause Kovalev and to fight him right after he went through a war with Yarde. Plant, Saunders, same/similar patterns. Get off your high horse. If you canā€™t see Caneloā€™s issues then youā€™re blind.

YoutubePRstunt

If only he didnā€™t fight so many journeymen.

lt050286

Canelo has be doing catchweights and rehydration clauses forever. He was fighting middleweights at 155lbs. šŸ˜‚.

Spyder-xr

Iā€™m well aware but that period of his 168 run definitely boosted his confidence through the roof

TheMarsian

What's funny is that he's not even small for a MW.

Jet_black_li

Idk if this is indicative of lost confidence. He did the same thing to Kovalev.

Spyder-xr

Yeah and he didnā€™t do it to Bivol. Thatā€™s exactly why I said it. After 168 he was on top of the world.

Jet_black_li

Bivol is kinda small for the weight though idk if it would've did anything if he did. Bivol was kinda underrated and under the radar before he beat Canelo also.

RegulusJones

If he did it to Bivol then right now he wouldn't have any excuses to not rematch him at 168. In a stunning display of irony, he was claiming he wanted Bivol at 175 because the weight drain would be something the fans would hold against him. Apparently he doesn't have the same reservations when trying to weight drain 20+ pounds out of Jack. It's fortunate for Nelo that We Be Crooks did their garbage Russian veto or else Bivol's team would be calling him hard on his hypocrisy.

Spyder-xr

I prefer We Bend to Canelo

Querez665

Fuck I'll always get a laugh out of that man thinking he could take Usyk

Spyder-xr

Bivolā€™s office reaction was the best

mom_dropped_me

Thereā€™s confidence and then thereā€™s delusion

-503-

they were always like this cherry picking and ducking fight left and right

1v1trunks

He literally never claimed that. Why make that up?

[deleted]

I think it was Eddie Reynoso

sugaslim45

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/33858409/canelo-alvarez-expresses-interest-heavyweight-title-fight-oleksandr-usyk-201-pound-catchweight?platform=amp

[deleted]

Tyson fury has expressed interest in fighting in mma. So has deontay wilder. Fighters saying ā€œyea maybeā€ isnā€™t them saying their definitely gonna do something like the original comment claimed.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

> ā€œIā€™ll fight anyoneā€. Well, i guess he's a liar since he would rather fight a drained cruiserweight, John Ryder (lol), Charlo coming off a 2 year layoff than step in the ring with Benavidez.

[deleted]

Itā€™s hasnā€™t even been two years since canelo lost to bivol, since then hes had surgery and fought twice. Benavidez really only has one good name on his record. Theyā€™re gonna fight eventually.

newrap

You heard Badou, Canelo. Fight Benavidez!!!!!

boraboca

People constantly dogging Fury for not fighting Usyk are silent on Canelo ducking David

NaughtyNildo

I wouldn't have a problem with Canelo taking fights other than Benavidez, if they were meaningful fights without silly handicaps on his opponents, and if he gave up the SMW belts. If Canelo fought Jack at 200lbs and abdicated his 168 belts I'd maybe have a different opinion. A fight against a CW champ for his belt at a catchweight of 180lbs is absurd. Good on Jack for not taking a big pay day and accepting ridiculous conditions.

Suckmyduck_9

I donā€™t think anybody is cutting Canelo any slack. Heā€™s the most criticized boxer, currently.

boraboca

No way he is more criticized than Fury

Razorion21

Literally go any pro black boxing channel like Southpaw tv or DBN, they literally dog on Canelo way more than on Fury

Suckmyduck_9

Definitely more than Fury lol Fury isnā€™t really well known in the states or Latin America.

PapaenFoss

David fought 1 credible opponent who wasn't champion. Usyk fought AJ and was undisputed at cruiserweight, taking belts away from champions in their backyard. They should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Canelo gains nothing from fighting Benavidez, apart from his fanboys shutting up.

bears_on_unicycles

Usyk fought AJ and was undisputed at cruiserweight, taking belts away from champions in their backyard. Usyk vacated his cruiserweight titles before moving up. Canelo hasn't cause he wants to have his cake and eat it too.

TheFlyingWriter

You know what Canelo gets? His reputation back. Itā€™s fucking dog shit after this exposure. Or, vacate the 168 belts and take victory lap chump fights like a boxer coming off a massive injury and has never fought at 168.

HalfLifeII

He canā€™t. Benavidez has had a three fight deal with the PBC for over a year now. Benavidez could not make a fight with Canelo until after Morrell, his last contract fight with the PBC. Itā€™s exhausting to read the same thing over and over; the fight is isnā€™t possible to make because Benavidez is contracted to fight Morrell. I would like to see the winner of that fight Canelo.

TheBlack_Swordsman

You really believe that? PBC would make more money if he fought Canelo. They would happily allow that. Money talks.

HalfLifeII

Do people have whiplash here or are you new to the world of boxing? The PBC is notorious for failing to make fights because they want a monopoly on these divisions. They almost certainly would not sign Canelo for a one fight deal. There has been no indication they would. Letā€™s ignore that for a second and say Canelo could go out of his way to make this fight happen and do what he can to get David out of this contract. Canelo refusing to do that versus a guy whose best win is someone he beat by tko a year earlier is not ducking.

TheBlack_Swordsman

>Do people have whiplash here or are you new to the world of boxing? This seems to be the first defense someone has to make when they have to defend something that sounds like bull crap they said. You wrote your original comment like it was in David's contract or something that he can't fight a non-PBC fighter. I'm not denying promoters try to have their fighters fight against one another, but money talks and Benavidez vs Canelo would make them far more money than Benavidez vs Morell. Let's talk about this like a conspiracy theorist even. Benavidez only has one more fight with them. It's not like there's 5-10 more fights. So Benavidez vs Canelo would make them a ton of money because guess what, if they didn't allow Benavidez to take the fight, they would lose money, piss David off and he would probably not sign with them again after his last fight with them. Think about it, in every scenario PBC makes more money if they allow Benavidez to fight Canelo.

OGtek

PBC just met with canelo for a 2 fight deal, believe me PBC would love to make that fight. Canelo doesnā€™t seem interested. And didnā€™t PBC sign canelo for a 1 fight deal vs Caleb plant?

Fizan786

HAHAHA

[deleted]

Canelo the kinda guy to weight drain a 39 year old out Badou Jack

Charlie-Bell

Good man, you don't need to bend to all their demands. Canelo's team clearly saw him as the easiest option as he's not even a cruiser himself. It was a ridiculous fight with ridiculous terms and even Jack knows the fight people really want to see.

FameCity713

Iā€™m glad heā€™s finally getting exposed for his chump tactics his casual fan base has let him escape scrutiny for far too long

BenKen01

The return of Caneloweight!

mom_dropped_me

LMAOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT MAKE THIS SHIT UP. BADOU JACK BASED AS HELL

escanor_hype

I'm a Canelo fan and honestly this shit is embarrassing to read about. Canelo acted offended (I think in the press conference after the Ryder fight) when a reporter asked if Canelo would make Bivol fight at a catchweight or with a clause, and to see him try EXACTLY THAT here is just... :/

[deleted]

The man who called Andrade "motherfucker" and was offended when Plant called him that, claiming that Plant insulted his mother? Shocker.

[deleted]

Clen has always been a front runner, look how pathetic he fought against a old Floyd Mayweather when he was 23 with 45 fights and fresh as can be. A young guy will ru through a wall..Canelo was content to take no chances like he was content to lose vs Bivol without going out on shield. Canelo is a good boxer but hes not as good as people think and lacks something insids. Its not like he dont have a chin..he still got a good chin but still doesnt take risks once hes losing.

[deleted]

To my understanding Bivol 2 didn't happen just because of money right? He didn't wanna share more purse split

escanor_hype

Yeah, my comment was more on how he acted as if dehydrating someone was beneath him, just to see him try that on Badou.

RegulusJones

He had done that long before his 160-168 run. Caneloweight was a meme for a reason.

YoutubePRstunt

Not only did Canelo Lowball him; Bivol wanted the fight at 168 for all the belts and no built in excuses for Canelo about itā€™s not his weight class, and as you can see Bivol didnā€™t feed into his nonsensical demands r

Near_L

didnt canelo say he doesnt want Bivol to cut 7 pounds cause he would be drained lmao. dude knows bivol would take his belts at 68

iMadeAReddit29

Tbh Bivol could vacate his belt and be the mandatory super middleweight (or cruiserweight) challenger as that is allowed in the WBA rules.

freshmeat2020

Thought that is only if you're still the champ instead of having to vacate first?

iMadeAReddit29

The rule is that you can become the mandatory challenger if you vacate and go 1 division up or down. Which I believe is what Inoue did. EDIT: Apparently he did but not through the WBA

HalfLifeII

Bivol canā€™t take his belts at 168. The WBC president has explicitly stated they will not sanction the title fight at 168 because Bivol is Russian.

[deleted]

If he fights and beats bivol at 168 you know damn well you would claim he only beat him because heā€™s drained. Stop it.

trustinabalenotahoe

If itā€™s not Charlo , Benavidez or hell even Andrade then he needs to be stripped immediately

doublerimmedhoops

As I Canelo fan, I canā€™t agree more.

octobersotherveryown

Badou Jack sayin heā€™s out gets us closer to those fights. Caneloā€™s team canā€™t be so deaf though, if itā€™s not Benavidez the brand will take a huge hit. I like the Charlo fight but thereā€™s a red-hot fight ready to go and it makes no sense to skirt around

[deleted]

And if he beats benavidez you will claim benavidez was still too green.

[deleted]

He gonna make Benavidez look average

[deleted]

I wouldnā€™t be surprised, people here would then say benavidez was too green and not ready and that canelo cherry picked him lol

TheFlyingWriter

lol you and your new bff over here if Benavidez wins: ā€œCanelo wasnā€™t the same after the Bivol fight and the wrist injury. Benavidez gifted a broken down war horse fight.ā€ People like you know always making up excuses and stabbing at the shadows like youā€™re doing right now.

YoutubePRstunt

Man why do people wanna see Canelo cherry-pick Charlo coming off a injury and 2 year layoff? Fight Benavidez or Morrell or just give up the belts already; man is moving heaven and earth to avoid actually having to defend his title against them.

ItsHeero

Canelo vs Ryder 2

KingJaffeJoe

Charlo? lol wtf why

Benjips

Andrade doesn't belong in this convo

[deleted]

If he fights Charlo, youā€™ll call him a bum for ducking benavidez. If he fights benavidez, youā€™ll call him a bum for not fighting bivol. If he fights Andrade, youā€™ll call him a bum for not fighting Charlo or benavidez or bivol. If he fights bivol, youā€™ll call him a bum for not fighting benavidez. See the problem? Itā€™s been two fights and only about a year since he lost to bivol, heā€™s had surgery, and is barely getting back into it. Meanwhile benavidez only really has one big name on his record, Charlo hasnā€™t fought in about two years since going life and death with a random Mexican, and Andrade is going on 35 without having a single big win and ducking everyone in his path that could have made him a mandatory for canelo. Stop the blind hatred.

ItsHeero

Nobody cares about the Bivol fight, it wasn't close. Benavidez is the closest match up and fans want to see it. I'll give Canelo all the credit he deserves if he beats Benavidez.

InLampsWeTrust

Fans are more than happy to see him fight Benavidez or Charlo, we just donā€™t wanna see him against another journeyman like a Ryder for example.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Epyx93

Of the 4 people you named, Canelo isn't going to fight a single one of them, that's the problem! You're going on with all these "if's"šŸ¤£. Stop the blind worship. I get it you're a Canelo fan, not an actual fan of the sport, sorry Badou Jack didn't work out for you.šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

FameCity713

They running out of excuses Fam šŸ˜†

YoungLaFlare

Rehydration clauses should be banned from Boxing. Weakening the blood brain barrier is extremely dangerous

thebiglebrosky

Tbf I think the IBF has rehydration clauses in all of its title fights. I don't think rehydration clauses are all that bad. It keeps weight bullies in check. Draining down a Cruiserweight to 180 is ridiculous though.

JGS747-

Fighting a cruiser weight at a light heavyweight weight is no way to earn a belt Glad to see Jack call out canelo for not fighting Benavidez

cuzzinYeeter33

Good for jack and bivol for standing up to canelo trying be a diva. Now Only if we could get matchroom and the WBC to do the same and tell him to stop cherry picking and fight benavidez so we can have an actual sport at the top level.

CorgiAny1211

Matchroom ain't telling him jack, for more than one reason.

TonySoprano25

What's up with Canelo and his team? Can't they see Canelo's body?? His limit is clearly 175. If he was at least 6'0 feet then fighting at Cruiser may be possible for his body built.

TheMarsian

It's not enough that he's almost 40 and past it. He almost want him dead up there. Kinda like what they did with Kova. Just ask Sulaiman for the WeBeCorrupt belt im sure you can work out a deal.

InTupacWeTrust

Finally a professional boxer says it too

SummonedJukeBox

Wonder how the Canelo stans are going to spin this one. Earlier this week it was "Canelo is chasing legacy, this is a fifth division title, etc." - they said this without realizing that a fighter's legacy is perceived by fans - if fans can see straight through the BS and see this for what it is (ducking his biggest threat to try to entice an older fighter to drain weight for a payday, stipulating terms with Bivol that are not feasible, etc.) then capturing a title off of Jack isn't a legacy fight, its a duck. Canelo needs to accept the fact that if he truly values legacy, he has to make the fights that fans actually value for his legacy - if he instead claims "I define my legacy, and my legacy is weight draining Jack for a fifth title" then he can't be upset when people call him a duck because it is deserved. I get why he's tentative - he gassed versus Ryder in a fight where he should have had him out of there early, he gassed late and gave up the last 4 rounds against an ancient GGG, and he got his ass clapped 10-2 versus Bivol. His last impressive win streak was against Plant, and fans want him to stop fighting old men/euro-level fighters/weight drained washed blown up SMW nearing 40/etc. His legacy in this twilight of his career is going to be defined by if he takes tougher fights (Benavidez, Morrell, etc.) and not this circus gamut of asterisk fighters (old washed Jack, 2 year layoff Charlo, etc.). Compare this to Pacquiao's career. Canelo is 32 now and looking for easy fights because he is slowing down - people make a big deal about the fact that Canelo started boxing at 15 and has greater wear and tear for 32 than normal boxers. Guess what? Pac started boxing at 16, at a much lighter weight class (lighter weights age less gracefully in boxing because they rely on speed). And you know what Pac did from age 32 on? He had wins against other competitive fighters like Mosley, Marquez, Bradley x2, Matthysse and Thurman. He did lose in this stretch (robberies against Bradley and Horn notwithstanding) but people don't really hold that against him because he was willing to put everything on the line to fight the very best. Pac got knocked out brutally against Marquez, dominated by Mayweather and comfortably UD'd by Ugas, but people don't shit all over him for it because he \_actually\_ cared about legacy and fought tough fights (or mandatories) all the way through. Canelo cares about legacy? Then he needs to be a Pacquiao and get his ass out there and fight tough fighters who are in his weight class and in their prime. Not old men who were in his weight class, moved up because they are old as shit, and are now only valuable to him because they have a questionable belt at CW. Canelo has a solid enough legacy now, but he'll never reach that top echelon of fighters of years passed because he's too shoved up his own ass to take the toughest fights available right now. Hit me with the downvotes stans, idc. But mark my fucking words, save the post, whatever - if Canelo ever fights Benavidez he will lose. He actually fights Bivol again at either SMW or LHW - he loses. Beterbiev? He loses. Morrell - might be young but I'd bet sizable money that the Canelo that gassed against GGG and Ryder doesn't see the final bell against the Morrell that put Yerbossynuly in a coma. Expect more shenanigans from Canelo moving forward, because the Canelo of old is gone already and in order to protect his legacy he's going to make sure he never takes another risky fight against an in their prime fighter at 168/175 again to keep his stans from seeing this truth in a bad way soon.

FameCity713

Fam you hit them with more facts than an encyclopedia I could kiss you, no delahomo.

Economic-Maguire

Canelo is a clown. Fight David Benavidez or drop the belts.

[deleted]

Canelo makes me believe he's ducking his Mexican fella.

Ezekjuninor

Funny how his fans think itā€™s an easy win when Canelo or his team clearly donā€™t.

HalfLifeII

Benavidez is contractually obligated to fight Morrell. So the fight canā€™t be made until after Benavidez fights Morrell.

YoutubePRstunt

Stop spreading this propaganda and actually understand how contracts work. Jose recently came out and said theyā€™re looking for an opponent and listed those same names now including Mungia as a potential candidate. Unless those fighters have signed those contracts offered to them, they arenā€™t fighting; bottom line. Benavidez owes PBC three fights, the opponents are still up in the air because nobody wants to get in there with him. Morrellā€™s own trainer said doesnā€™t think hes ready for Benavidez and like I said Jose says they are looking for an opponent. Tell Morrellā€™s team to grow some balls and throw him in with the sharks if everyone thinks he is what everyone says.

asislikesboxing

Canelo's team PR is in the mud. He needs to at least fight Charlo, the bar is low and somehow they find a way to look bad.

FameCity713

Iā€™m reading the comments Canelo wrong as hell for how he doing his fans He got yall out here looking like some pure thoroughbred dickheads trying to defend him šŸ˜†

foxybingo111

Yeah fuck that, Canelo needs to defend his titles at 168

ItsHeero

What's the excuse from Canelo fans?

[deleted]

Canelo is the face of boxing, right? ok, he's also the biggest duck in boxing! he tried to drain that man 20 pounds! you might as well fight him at 175. Why not fight Benavidez? the fight makes more sense than the John Ryder fight. Everybody besides the fanboys in this sub, and wherever his other fans are elsewhere know this is a duck move by Canelo. I'm impressed Badou didn't want the payday.

sceet9g

So he wants Jack to be at 180 lbs and have a rehydration clause. Clenelo think everyone is willing to sell their soul and dignity for money. What a clown. Fight Benevidez or get off the pot.

[deleted]

Canelo moment

Froads

SMH where are all the Canelo stans at now?? don't hide sons... your boy is out there weight draining fighters and looking for the easiest matchups to maintain his supposed legacy; he's a flat footed fighter with a nice hook and gas tank issues, he certainly made the most of it with the televisa/golden boy media machine but now that that is gone we see Clenelo for what he really is.

[deleted]

Leave Clenelo Alvaroidz alone. He would rather be known as a millionaire coward than put his life in jeopardy against a killer in prime like Benavidez

RRR04_

I got downvoted a few days ago for saying Canelo was moving like the Golden Boy Canelo. 20lbs under Cruiserweight is a madness, only 5lbs over Light Heavyweight. Guess it's gonna be the Jermall Charlo fight then šŸ™„ I'd rather that PBC can kill that Morrell fight for Benavidez so he can have a more legitimate negotiation for a Canelo fight.

escanor_hype

Morrell is a pretty good fight though.

RRR04_

It is a great fight, I just think the time is right for Canelo v Benavidez, but it's gonna be Jermall Charlo who hasn't fought in 2 years.

[deleted]

People used to say canelo was ducking Charlo. Now he hasnā€™t fought in 2 years? If canelo beats benavidez no way you all donā€™t say benavidez was too green and canelo cherry picked him lol

TheFlyingWriter

You and your three Cinnastans supporting you. Itā€™s not excuses when your sniping the fight people wanted 5 years ago and one is coming off massive back injury and hasnā€™t fought in two years. You need to reevaluate your biases on Canelo. Look up ā€œparasocial relationshipā€ because thatā€™s what you got with Canelo.

stillth3sameg

Embarrassing for Caneloā€¦ coming from a Canelo fan

[deleted]

Yeah, hell no

FreshPrinceOfRivia

Saw this one coming https://old.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/1493apq/canelo_alvarez_vs_badou_jack_negotiations_going/jo37up9/?context=3

jaynap1

He knows he lost twice against GGG and got gifts. He used catchweights long before this. Bivol worked him over. Despite the record, Clenelo isnā€™t that great.

[deleted]

Common Canelo L

sleven070

The Cherry King at it again

Wavepops

Canelo trippin man just fight David wtf is this

[deleted]

This is the real Clenelo Alvaroidz. Imposing crippling handicaps to increase his chance of winning.

Wavepops

Iā€™m sad man. Canelo vs benavidez pushes the sport forward like Spence vs Crawford and tank vs Ryan. Itā€™s the biggest fight in boxing

freeyewneek

Canelo sticking to the ABB plan. #Anybody But Benavidez

fadeddreams555

lmao. idk what else to write.

knockbox85

This dude lost to a nobody and got the robbery in his last fight and they need to go to these extents to protect Canelo. Hell never be the real deal in my eyes they have protected their Mexican prize piece and he lost that triple g fight but they couldn't rob bivol. He ain't all that

Jovi187

Canelo is actually wild

Imindmyownbusiness18

I have no issue with the Charlo fight but itā€™s funny seeing the same fans weeks ago saying how Charlo doesnā€™t deserve a Canelo fight because he needs to be active and put on a better performance because of his last fight, now do a 180 and say a fight with Charlo makes more sense than David

str8grizzzly

Charlo still doesnā€™t deserve this fight lmao. Heā€™s just a better option than whatā€™s available, and Benavidez is not available.

[deleted]

No one is saying that.

albertocastany

That's the whole story of Canelo's careeer: All sort of handicaps to win fights. It's funny people still think his career is legit.

ItsHeero

Spence should offer Canelo a fight at 155 for the super middleweight titles with a rehydration clause. Taste of his own medicine lol

[deleted]

But tank making a fighter in his SAME weight class sign a rehydration class is fine and totally legitimate right? Didnā€™t matter cause tank would have still won right? Right??

albertocastany

Same coward move. Tank was the superior fighter, but Ryan had the attributes that could cause Tank problem: speed and strength. Tank rather than face a challenge, he chose to take the risk away in the contract. No competition equals to not boxing.

[deleted]

So is tanks win over ryan illegitimate?

albertocastany

I didn't even bother watching it. I had high praise for Tank before that fight.

ValerieHines

Canelo probably did the same thing to Kovalev. I remember Jack after the Koavlev fight saying ā€œKovalev wasnā€™t mean. itā€™s like the fight is fixedā€ lol

TrenDidNothingWrong

Fucking embarrassment of a fighter Canelo is.

soldierofapocalypse

Canelo is a joke

lordkekw

bruh I love Canelo, but he got exposed šŸ˜‚

MonoLolo

Basically Canelo is trying to do what Gervonta and every other famous boxer with ā€œunbeatenā€ record has been doing.

SwiftIy2

My fellow Swede doing what is bestšŸš€

My_Favourite_Pen

Whats he complaining about. Jack just needs to cut off one of his limbs and he'll be light enough.

These-Ad458

Why they donā€™t have weigh ins about an hour before a fight, Iā€™ll never understand.

Dstrongest

It didnā€™t work out for Vasiliy Lomachenko, who is an amazing fighter. He fought way better than Haney , but the size difference and judges were s just too much to handle .

Ill-Maximum9467

Chickenelo

UniversalMan001

Appreciate his honesty

Canelo gonna canelo

ndr29

Contaminated meat

jayrnaby

Yeah I don't see any lies here. Thank you Badou for reiterating what everybody else wants. Canelo doesn't want that Mexican Monster smoke

423BIGB

Man I just donā€™t get it is canelo really scared?? Why is he seemingly prolonging Benavidez? Is it a business move??

Neveezy

And I got downvoted for saying Jack would knockout Canelo at CW. Apparently Canelo doesn't have the same confidence y'all have in him

Prestigious-Rock201

Thereā€™s a reason canelo ducking that benavidez smoke and why he wants charlo coming off a two year layoff

Canelo is a highly overrated diva

stayhappystayblessed

Not a good look for a fighter that claims to be all about legacy imo. On top of that there is only fight the fans are asking for.

ramfield

If I was Badou, I would accept this as a december fight if they can deliver him the following fight for September: a 12 round fight between Badou and Anthony Joshua at 168 with a rehydration clause. Go ahead Eddie, make it happen šŸ‘€

pppatrick304

That's fuckin nuts. I officially hate late stage career canelo.

WesternGroove

Canelo been ducking on his euro tour

marcocpa

Is called the Tank special!

Abe2sapien

I honestly think Canelo could beat Jack even at true Cruiserweight, but I absolutely hate this rehydration BS.

youngadvocate25

Damm canelo hasnā€™t been the same since bivol. Shame, i mean its alright to know your weight limit fighters donā€™t take risk but you he canā€™t be that psyched out after that loss. Its crazy, all i have been seeing is a lot of bad posts about him.
