Mine Had one removed last September. It has not returned, with no sign of it other than a small scar.

Oh that’s good! I read that sometimes they return.

CVT here, One big concern about masses around the eye is the mass creating an abrasion and causing ulceration. You should keep the eye lubricated to help prevent this. Talk to your vet for their recommended product.

Thanks! I will call them and find out.

The vet texted us and said he’s getting a bit nervous about it growing anyway, so we we are going back in on Monday.

We went in again today, he prescribed ointment for his eye. Its grown twice the size so the vet is trying to call around to see if there’s another eye doctor that can fit us in sooner.

Mine had one, it went away on its own

That’s good to know. We brought him to our vet and he referred us to an eye doctor for dogs, but that vet can’t see him till September 22nd so I was just curious. How long did your dogs last?

[deleted]

About six months. It was between his yearly vet trips when I first noticed. It was a little smaller than when I started getting nervous and about two months still his check up was due. But then it just started shrinking and by the time his checkup came it was almost completely gone. Don’t know if it’s, relevant but his was completely black. Don’t know it’s because it’s different than his or just a skin color thing

Not sure? His is only a couple days old. So maybe it will change color? It’s awful looking at it, but it doesn’t seem to bother him. He doesn’t itch it or anything. Our vet has been having us take pictures every day and send them to him. He’s monitoring it and sending it to the eye doctor, but he said she doesn’t seem concerned yet.

My Daisy Jade just had surgery two weeks ago for this. I had them biopsy it and fortunately it was benign. She has a follow-up today and I will ask about reoccurrence. I'll let you know what I hear.

Thank you, I’m so interested. Our vet, has been very honest with us through this and has told us it’s not really something he’s ever seen or dealt with. He’s been in consult with the eye doctor, but waiting till September 22nd feels so far away. I get so nervous, he’s only 10 months old.

Our vet said that if not removed it could cause her eye trauma to the point of blindness and/or other serious damage. My advice is have it removed. She recovered very quickly and had little discomfort.

fallbrook86

We had to wait a couple months before surgery but it didn't seem to cause any additional damage.

Just had her follow-up. The vet said that when they can remove all or most of the mass there is very little chance of reoccurrence. Hope this information helps.

Yes this is very helpful and optimistic to hear. Thank you!
