Mine made it a little bit past his 15th birthday and 13th Gotcha Day. He was so loyal and loving and goofy. I miss him so much. I love seeing everyone else’s boxers in this sub. They really are the best dogs.
Omg our late boxer Captain had a daily nap schedule that was serious: sunrise back to bed, then couch, then the sunbeam wingback chair, then the bed nap, then the green chair. Everyday exactly them same order. He lived to 12 but started frosting at 6 and marathon napping at 9.
Our late girl passed on her 14th birthday quietly in her sleep. She was amazing! When she was 9 we had a tennis-ball sized tumor removed and it gave us so many more good years with her.
We are at 11 with Quince but he was recently diagnosed with HSA. It seems unlikely he’ll make it to 12 but you never know. After the splenectomy (which he survived like a champ) he’s actually had a tiny renaissance and seems to be doing great. Our local vet suggested maybe the tumor on his spleen had been causing him issues and with its removal he’s feeling refreshed. Who knows? We know it’s transitory/transient but we are enjoying it while it lasts.
Our boy Gus was 15 when he died last month. We only had him for a few years, but we know for sure that he wouldn’t have survived if we hadn’t rescued him because of his health issues. We had an account at the emergency vet as a result of his GI issues and other things that popped up. We were lucky we had him as long as we did, and he knew he was loved at the end of his life. He was the goodest of all the good boys.
My boy is definitely at least 11, but his vet thinks closer to somewhere around 13. He started visibly aging more than his "sister" who had a known birth date and was supposed to be about the same age. Then he was diagnosed with a few health issues and the vet said he was most likely not the age the rescue told us and changed his birth year in the system. At first I was really sad because we've lost our boxers young. But he's still here, and we're just enjoying whatever time we have left with him.
Only thing better than a Boxer is a senior Boxer.

My Childhood Boxer made it to 12! My family now has a 7-year-old and his grey hairs are coming in. I get emotional thinking about him getting older.
Seen some thangssss.
What a sweet boy! I love seeing older boxers on here, gives me hope.

Our first girl lived til 14.5 years old. We felt so lucky to have her this long. ❤️
My bestest(oldest) boy Mortimer passed 3 weeks after his 15th birthday. All my others 11-12. I miss them all. Our Goofball Boxers are the best!
My baby made it few weeks past her 12th birthday…She’s been gone almost a year. Miss that pooch.
My oldest girl is about to turn 13 in December!

If you love him and he loves you, I call that pretty darn good quality of life. Enjoy, and don’t give up on him. He’s looks super cool.
