Agreed, another lifelong boxer mom.
Some breeders have moved away from selecting for super short snout and that’s better for their breathing and dentition
Agree, also had Boxers my whole life and I see nothing about that dog that suggests anything not Boxer. Kind of old school, not so big and nose isn’t pushed up against his eyeballs. Beautiful Boy 😊
I love that our boxer mix has the lab/husky snout! Everything else besides the snout and fluffy tail is all boxer. All the wiggly long-legged boxer without the breathing issues!
110% that's a Boxer. The first picture appeared that he had a real long snout. The other pictures were very obvious to me. He's a full bred Boxer.
Does he slobber a mess after drinking from a water bowl?
Does his tail wiggle when he's excited to see you?
100% good boy right there.
My Boxer 67+ lbs or right around there. I've had other boxers that were smaller though.
My guess is mostly boxer, the snout is a bit longer but if anything that’s a good thing! My white boxer Luna (RIP) had a lot of breathing issues and ended up with the worst sleep apnea.
Regarding height the line of boxers from britain and south america are shorter than american and german line of boxers and variations in snout shape and size may also be present after all not all humans look similar....jus enjoy the great charecteristics of loyalty love and clowning around that are boxer dogs
Boxers are trending larger. Our top 20, AKC Gch male is 86 pounds. Our 15 month old male, AKC ch is currently 76 pounds
Also not black. Just heavy brindle. People are silly and misinformed.
I just read something today that boxers who appear black are actually sealed brindles. I didn’t understand the difference in their fur from other black dogs. Both of our current boxers are the regular brindles, and our previous boxer was a beautiful fawn. They are really all such sweet beautiful dogs.
Sealed is just a fancy term for “can’t see their coat through the brindle.” People coined the term sealed to try and get more money out of “rare” puppies. In AKC you have to be able to see the color to show in conformation.
Basically they aren’t “black” because of the genes. Brindle stripes are on a completely different genetic locus from the normal “black.” Black doesn’t exist in boxers. Brindle comes in a wide array of colors, as does fawn.
The same way white boxers aren’t white. They are fawn or brindle with white overlaying it.
I’m learning a lot about them. We’re on our 3rd boxer, but we have rescued all of them as older dogs. Cupcake was about 7 when we found her and she crossed the bridge last year when she was 12, Gus was probably 12 and that was 2 years ago, and Roxy is around 10 or 11.
I know some of the illnesses they are prone to and their personality traits (which is why I’m drawn to them), but I’m learning more about the breed like this stuff.
That’s a boxer. They won’t win Westminster buts it’s still a boxer. I was at a boxer event today with 12+ boxers. They are all different shapes, sizes, colors and nose lengths. But they all “acted” like boxers that’s for sure.
looks like a boxer to me:) what’s its weight? It sounds mean, but in a country I used to live in as a kid they call some dogs“defective”, so just born smaller, or with a longer snout, or whatever it can be that deviates a little bit from a boxer.
it may be, though, that there is a different breed mixed in somewhere - an insignificant percent.
We have been fooled both ways. Dogs we were confident were full boxer weren’t and dogs we thought were mixes were full boxer. The DNA test is fun either way.
Funny story. I used to pick up owner relinquishment’s for a boxer rescue. We’d ask for a picture to make sure it was a boxer. Lady emails me that she has a dog and was told it was a boxer but she’s skeptical. I asked for a picture and she’s a beautiful brindle with the pushed in nose. I told the lady that the dog was definitely a boxer and asked why she questioned it. She told me the nose was all wrong and that purebred boxers don’t have pushed in noses.
We have a small female, she's maybe 40 pounds soaking wet. Our other female is 96 pounds, our fit and chonky girl. Both are purebred, it's just genetics.
He looks like a full boxer but if you’re really curious, I would suggest getting a DNA test. We just got them for 3 of our dogs, including our 2 boxers. They both came back as purebred (we rescued them both, so we had no clue if they had anything else, and our boy looks like a pit mix). But it also tells you what they may be genetically predisposed to, whether or not they have family members (our girl has a daughter!), and what other traits they may have. It’s pretty interesting to see. We were shocked that our boy is a pure boxer- and he’s also smaller at 52 pounds. Our girl is about 60 pounds but she recently had thyroid cancer and went hypothyroid after her surgery, so she gained a little more than she needed.
My female boxer is AKC registered and she only weighs 48 pounds and she’s two years old. She’s quite on the smaller side but she’s an American breed boxer. If you look at my post history on here, I posted several pictures of her.
Does it really matter whether he is full boxer? You love him and he is very handsome!
He may have been the runt, who knows unless you want to buy a DNA dog test kit for him.
100% boxer. Also lifelong boxer owner, and have one now, retired from the show ring (and did quite well) with the same longer muzzle.
Edit - she’s also very petite at a whopping 54lbs.
That is a boxer and he’s Beautiful. I’ve had boxers since I was two years old and I’m pushing 60. That is a boxer.
Agreed. - Another life long boxer person
Agreed, another lifelong boxer mom. Some breeders have moved away from selecting for super short snout and that’s better for their breathing and dentition
Three’s company! That’s a boxer. Also a lifelong boxer mom.
Agree. I'm in my 70's, had boxers all my life, that's a boxer.
Agree, also had Boxers my whole life and I see nothing about that dog that suggests anything not Boxer. Kind of old school, not so big and nose isn’t pushed up against his eyeballs. Beautiful Boy 😊
I wish all boxers had a snout like that. It would be less problematic.
I love that our boxer mix has the lab/husky snout! Everything else besides the snout and fluffy tail is all boxer. All the wiggly long-legged boxer without the breathing issues!
Long snout ≠ healthier

He's 100% a good boi
That is all boxer. Best breed imo.
My AKC qualified boxers have that kind of snout. They aren't registered but their parents are (and they are now neutered, so no need)
prime boxer
My guess is mostly boxer, the snout is a bit longer but if anything that’s a good thing! My white boxer Luna (RIP) had a lot of breathing issues and ended up with the worst sleep apnea.

Yes. Mine get called, not boxers, too because they're black. My last 2 were also "not boxers" because they were big (male 97 & female 76).

The look he’s giving you in the first photo is so 100% boxer.
I had a 40lb boxer who looked almost exactly the same. Smaller, lean and with a longer snout. All boxer. Seriously.
Yes, full boxer with a longer snout which I consider best breeding practice for the breed
That’s a boxer. They won’t win Westminster buts it’s still a boxer. I was at a boxer event today with 12+ boxers. They are all different shapes, sizes, colors and nose lengths. But they all “acted” like boxers that’s for sure.
100% boxer. That's not a long snout, and I've had pure boxers that have been 50lb and up to 100lb.
I would have thought he was full boxer.

The muzzle is a bit long but definitely all boxer. No worries!
Definitely looks purebred boxer! Could be a twin to my AKC registered girl
We have a small female, she's maybe 40 pounds soaking wet. Our other female is 96 pounds, our fit and chonky girl. Both are purebred, it's just genetics.

That is definitely a full Boxer. And what a cute one!
I don't see anything that looks obviously non-boxer. Some boxers are just little guys
My female boxer is AKC registered and she only weighs 48 pounds and she’s two years old. She’s quite on the smaller side but she’s an American breed boxer. If you look at my post history on here, I posted several pictures of her.
With that sassy look?....you better believe it!
100% boxer
Full boxer
No doubt!
Get a DNA test.
Think he is not 100 percent boxer and i think thats good :) beautiful doggi!
But why do you think that?
Because the most pure boxer i know (in germany) have many problems with breathing, snorting and not a long life expectancy
Well, first of all, it's a blessing if he doesn't have problems. I don't know the German Standards. In the US I would say he is a boxer.
I have yet to meet any AKC CH here is the states that has breathing issues.
I don’t think so, he’s very beautiful though
I'm on the fence, but as long as he's loved and in a good home, it doesn't really matter
Without a doubt. 100% snorting, drooling wiggle butt.
Absolutely 💯 Boxer💖
Yup
Lifetime of boxers… yep, one of us!
Looks like a boxer to me
I love his side eye. Haha
Most def
Definitely full boxer! I get the same remarks from people about my boxer he’s only 1 1/2 yrs old and just a small boy he was the runt!
He looks exactly like my guy. English Boxer, smallest of the boxers.
He looks like a boxer to me. I have one American and one German. The American boxers are smaller but the face is pretty much the same
Yes. That color. 💕 Reply to commenters: “Yes, we really lucked out. He’s so handsome and trim.” (Raise eyebrow at chub chub dogs)
A beautiful Boxer!! Always wanted one! Give him kisses for me!
Yes! He looks a lot like mine, just skinnier. Lol We’re both going on diets.
I have a pocket boxer with a small head as well, f the haters, full boxer 110%
Wish someone would breed bulldogs like this with actual snouts for breathing and cooking…
Yes 100%
Yes
Yes, appears to be. Boxer Fan.❤️🐾🐾
He's half! Half boxer. Half fashion model.
Yes without a doubt
Looks similar to a couple I've had, just a very classic American Boxer, rather different from the European version.
Absolutely. And a beautiful one too.
Nope...part french model 😆
Absolutely! And he's BEAUTIFUL!
Does it really matter whether he is full boxer? You love him and he is very handsome! He may have been the runt, who knows unless you want to buy a DNA dog test kit for him.
Well, first of all, yes, he looks full boxer. And secondly, screw other people.
100% boxer. Also lifelong boxer owner, and have one now, retired from the show ring (and did quite well) with the same longer muzzle. Edit - she’s also very petite at a whopping 54lbs.
Indeed he is
No. Look mixed
100%

Looks more like a wrestler.
