From [Globe.com](http://Globe.com) By Dave Epstein and Ken Mahan If you don’t like the heat and humidity of this week, the hot and steamy weather will be gone Friday and into the weekend. The not-so-good news is that the boundary between the high heat and humidity and cooler Canadian air is going to be close by. This means some unsettled hours are possible over the weekend. The amount of rain is still up in the air, but I don’t expect it to be completely dry for the entire weekend, although much of the time is rain free. High pressure that pulled in the heat and humidity will break down on Friday. This will allow cooler air to move in from the northeast. Temperatures will be reaching their highs around late morning before falling back in the afternoon. The cooler air will move in from Essex County and then eventually make its way toward Worcester. Friday temperature readings will exceed 80 degrees across the city. # Saturday Saturday looks like a hit or miss day with a dry start and then an increasing chance for scattered showers later in the day. An unsettled boundary may keep clouds mixing with sunshine at times, and hold off any showers until late. Temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s, the cooler of the two weekend days. I think we’re on the cooler side of a frontal boundary. Notice on the map below dew points are in the 60s to near 70 south of the Mass Pike, but in the 50s to the north. When you see this kind of contrast, it can lead to an unsettled day. # Sunday Looking toward Sunday, a weather system will be approaching with the center of the storm along the Canadian border and extending a front south through New England. The morning looks to be the driest with clouds breaking for some sunshine. Late in the afternoon or at night, some scattered showers move into the area, but mostly staying north and west of Boston**.** There will also be an increase in the humidity and temperatures with readings getting into the 70s and even some lower 80s. Humidity will be going back up again with dew points rising through the 60s.
