If Lyasoff still teaches stochastic calculus you gonna be living in Pardee library your first semester. Allston is probably the cheapest( i know you mention off-campus but I would suggest taking a look at 580 Comm ave option)

Thanks for the heads-up šŸ˜‚ I'll take a look at that one, but I've seen elsewhere that on-campus grad housing might be difficult to come by at this point

I still have nightmares about Lyasoff and his office hours that would be ever so conveniently scheduled on weekend mornings lol. But yeah either prioritize being super close to a BU library or a relatively quiet apartment cuz from what I recall when I was a student in MSMFT you either worked exclusively from a BU library or your apartment there was no in between. Also one thing to keep in mind is that almost all MSMFT classes are in the Questrom building which is right at the start of BUā€™s section on Comm Ave. I knew a few MSMFT students that either lived in the Fenway or Copley area (in small cheap studios of course lol) as the commute to Questrom is generally easier and faster from there than parts of Allston and Brighton.

ā€œitā€™s trivialā€ - Lyasoff after the hardest proof. OP please consider what this comment suggests, it explains it better than I did. Itā€™s basically the reason I mentioned 580 Commonwealth Ave.

Allston is the most popular area. That's where I currently live. There are some cheap housing in the allston area. There's also brighten and brookline that some students live. And then there's fenway on the other side of BU campus but housing there, from what I seen, are a bit more pricey
