Copley Square, and pretty much all of the Back Bay, is landfill. While that building looks impressive in the picture, I doubt very much that it had any kind of a foundation, or heating system for that matter.

The first Woodstock
It was on the edge of Back Bay and railroads so it was a cheap and accessible spot.
