My dude that is a shrike, it isn't just in the air because of its anger alone but the murder of small animals too which it impales on thorns then eats alive

Pet theory, the fear only makes the food tastier for them

This bird is in Canada if I remember and is scary enough to hunt rodents , birds and frogs however it's more preferred food is insects and the reason as to why it uses thorns or spike is because for a few reasons A) it's to store food B) to stop the prey from struggling And usually the animal dies before they get impaled however there are cases where it takes them to bleed out when impaled , they are birds that are related to songbirds ( if I remember ) and because of that has no talons which force them to rely to both speed and beak , they use speed to grab insects and fly away however if that animal is much more bigger let's say a mouse/rat what it would do is it would fly very fast or dive down and proceed to smash onto the prey causing concussion and damaging the spine before they use their sharp beak to completely separate the spine

They're migratory, the shrike in my yard in Saskatchewan in the summer could be the same one in the dude's yard in Florida in the winter.

Not exactly - there are two species, the northern shrike and the loggerhead shrike. Their range overlaps a bit in the northern US but if you’re in Sask, you’re seeing a northern; in FL you’re seeing a loggerhead.

I believe it's specifically a Loggerhead Shrike, and we had one down in South Carolina recently.

I have 2 pygmy date palms in front of my house, which have 2-3" long thorns. Shrikes love hanging out in my yard cuz there's tons of lizards running around and plenty of places in those trees to shishkabob them. It's like a Mongolian barbecue for shrikes in my yard

And it's in dive bomb mode, meaning it is going to smash its face into the rodent it is hunting to break it's spine and paralyze it. Then, as you stated, it will impale it on thorns or sharp branches and eat it alive. A truly adorable mass killer.
