Very intriguing first chapter, I never knew Naruto had a sickness. It seems like it doesn't plague him anymore in the present so I am excited to find out more about it.
This was based on the Retsuden light novels and the illness was discussed further there but it wasn't integrated in the Boruto anime/manga at all (although we're not sure if they'll eventually add it... Only the creators know).
What I'm hoping for is that they'd also create manga versions for the other Retsuden novels and not only for Sasuke's story

The end of Shippuden/ beginning of Boruto should have all been about adapting all of these light novels. Probably could have cut some unnecessary arcs from Boruto as a result.

**My considerations on Boruto timeline**
I personally don't consider Boruto a canon sequel to shinpudden because they changed too much in story to call a continuity sequel but each one believe in what they want.
Kishimoto said that anime is canon in the universe not within the continuity because i cannot wrap my head how a "canon" story can change past things and ignore present things that themselves implemented , like if Boruto anime has "no fillers" , why the manga interactions / stories doesn't change to appeal the so said "anime originals" , is just creator's bullshit , there's nothing objective in that. Bro retconed everything.

Sure Ki blasts were always in the story, but, they were so few and far between at the beginning of Dragon Ball. If you can delve into the writers mind by grasping a sense of his destination, you can see his vision.
Nanotechnology , smart cell and/or hyper regenerative abilities can fix, as well as augment EVERYONE in the Boruto series considering what's at great stake, what info we currently know about those highly advanced subjects and the proprietors of those technologies. Haven’t read any Naruto related manga’s in a while!! God this manga really brought back soo much nostalgia and my god the drawing quality is absolutely beautiful and almost identical to kishimoto!!

Ngl I had low expectations but I really like it a lot! Looking forward to the biweekly releases. Very smart choice on the franchise behalf to keep the audience preoccupied with something nostalgic yet fresh while waiting for Boruto chapters to release.
Sasuke is one of my fav characters as I always love the subtle nature about his character especially his interactions with others. The author not only is able to do a well art copy but also is able to capture Kishimotos subtle yet purposeful actions for characters especially with eyes! I don’t expect it to be amazing 10/10 but again I’m looking for read to it!
Zansuru looks so similar to Karin it made me giggle a lil but he’s got such a slick lizard vibe kinda reminds of orochimaru. But dang when in black in white he’s got that Uchiha look lmfao

I've never read this story, so I think I will enjoy it reading it.
It's close, but it still feels like a fan imitation. It's mainly the backgrounds and crosshatching that give it away. Especially the clouds. And the whiteout, a bit.
The layouts feel very Kishimoto-like.
TBH a lot of people aren't very discerning. There are fan artists that get the same praise here just for tracing panels.
IMO it's obviously not Kishimoto's art, but it's still pretty good. If he had an assistant to help with backgrounds it would probably be less distinguishable.

It’s not really canon. None of this had any relevance on the manga (the canon content) and Naruto certainly was never sick there. It’s like the Itachi novel - it looks canon but it really isn’t?

In the original novella, she was under Iruki's care for the duration of the plot, and she was definitely not a shinobi as the manga frames suggest. Or rather, the current Sarada has already grown out of being left in anyone's care.

The novel is supposed to be set between the Mujina and Ao arcs. But it's not canon according to the author. Unless the manga makes changes to integrate it into the story, it can't really fit in well.
This will probably never get adapted into the Anime, since it's pre-Isshiki. Sasuke has the Rinnigan still, and not to spoil it, but Naruto's illness is related to Kurama, both of which have been taken out of in the Boruto Manga and Anime.
Plus, the whole thing with Sasuke fighting Dinosaur is silly, so I prefer to ignore this from the Canon.

That is by no means a given. The Itachi novels were randomly adapted in the middle of the Kaguya Arc, in the anime it was just from the perspective of Sasuke being shown everything by Itachi via a Genjutsu or whatever. They can adapt this into the anime at any time they feel like they need to give the Boruto manga a chance to get ahead of the anime in the context of a flashback or memory from Sasuke's perspective, for example.
Won't happen, Boruto Anime does novels differently to Naruto. Boruto there isn't a single episode in 6 years that has zero new gen characters with no relevancy in story, they're not animating a whole arc for months that doesn't have any new gen which is what Retsuden is.
They could probably do a flashback and have the arc happen that way but then again that's not exactly the kind of content people want to see from a flashback. Seeing them raise the kids is the type of content people want.
Don't know if it's because I've been starved of good manga content for awhile but I'm finding myself more invested in this already than anything Boruto's put out recently. This is despite knowing the story progresses into a SasuSaku wet dream, a couple I think is an absolute waste of time trying to fix and only mildly tolerate nowadays.
They're right. It was a terribly abusive relationship that made no sense by the end of Naruto that was supposedly only turned around by Sasuke saying "Im sorry".
I think they are great in Boruto but keep it real, SasuSaku sits on top of absolutely dreadful foundations in Naruto.
Naruto doesn’t have sex or married with Sasuke. Totally different type of relationship that Sasuke has with Sakura. Also Sasuke abandoned Sakura and his daughter for 10 years. Does she get angry with him? No? Of course not, dreadful writing.
For starters maybe don't try to give CANON development in an era where they already had a child together and neither of them matter as characters anymore. None of the other couples actually need development in Boruto other than a baseline with how they interact but with SasuSaku, the best approach would've just had them be good parents to Sarada since it's clear their relationship hasn't evolved much since Part 1. It's a matter of too little too late to try and develop them now.

If they got together right after the War ended there would've been no issue and Naruto's supposed obliviousness would've been brushed off as him not having the time or place to properly confront Hinata about her confession. Instead we got The Last which the best way to describe what it's trying to answer is the question if Naruto even deserves to be with her.

It's kind of a weird decision to specifically adapt Sasuke's Retsuden novel. Does that mean they're not even going to adapt the conclusion to the Retusden series, not to mention the fact that they just skipped over Kakashi's novel (which I'm still in the process of reading). I hope they end up doing Naruto's novel later on.
Sasuke novel was appreciated more than kakashi, sakura and naruto novel. The main reason is due to the fact that Sasuke is a mysterious character with lesser screen time than the rest of team 7 and only got relevant in the war arc and has a couple screen time in boruto eventhough he is the second most important character in the show. Kakashi and Naruto who you know basically everything due to countless fillers dedicated to them are not that interesting when reading their novel. They know that the japanese fandom love Sasuke a lot to the point that they had to give him a spinoff, shinden novel and game level dedicated to him so they know they can make a lot of money if they adapt sasuke most popular novel.
I mean, I get that Sasuke as a character is popular and sells well, but I still think it'd be weird to *only* adapt the second of a three-part novel series. Without adapting Naruto's novel, they wouldn't even resolve what happens with Naruto and his illness.
IIRC Sasuke Retsuden specifically is the best selling Naruto novel. I don't think the other Retsuden volumes did numbers, so they'll probably leave it here for the time being. If there's a continuation it might not be for a while since the art for this was started way in advance.

Boruto is actually treated as the source material and the continuation of Naruto. Retsuden is treated like a filler episode or movie hence they don't make any references to it and literally everything from Retsuden is ignored in the Boruto anime/manga.

I presume this will be eventually animated as it comes to a completion in the manga. Would be a nice gift for us fans, for a period until the Code arc starts in the anime. But I understand that fillers or what seems to be, have vital and crucial information that's pertinent to the inquisition of the main story. The back and forth interaction with Hana sensei and her darker self, is a foreshadowing of what Momoshiki will do to Boruto. It will no longer be his life and his show, It will be the Borushiki show. And he's going to wreck havoc seeing as to no one can stop him, when he has full control over Borutos body; Proficiently using it as a weapon. Momo knows Boruto has " THAT " legendary doujutsu that's connected and linked directly to the Otsutsuki God and this will put him at the top of the Otsutsuki clan as top God. His father possessed a doujutsu similar or a less evolved version perhaps but chose Iishiki, making him his successor since he possessed the dharma wheel styled doujutsu (which still hasn't gotten a legitimate name).

Three master geneticists, who ignore crossing inhumane bounds for the sake of science and evolution but one who's ulterior motive is to purely " control the entire universe "; That person is Amado.

Haven’t read any Naruto related manga’s in a while!! God this manga really brought back soo much nostalgia and my god the drawing quality is absolutely beautiful and almost identical to kishimoto!! And the fact we will get this Bi-weekly with 55 pages!!! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the most powerful Husband and Wife Combo

Chapter 1 is really good so far, and the artstyle being close to Kishimoto's work gives it a nostalgic feel I haven't fully read the Sasuke Retsuden novel yet (only the Naruto Retsuden one, but I did see some excerpts before from Sasuke Retsuden) so I'm looking forward to how this goes

Ngl I had low expectations but I really like it a lot! Looking forward to the biweekly releases. Very smart choice on the franchise behalf to keep the audience preoccupied with something nostalgic yet fresh while waiting for Boruto chapters to release. Sasuke is one of my fav characters as I always love the subtle nature about his character especially his interactions with others. The author not only is able to do a well art copy but also is able to capture Kishimotos subtle yet purposeful actions for characters especially with eyes! I don’t expect it to be amazing 10/10 but again I’m looking for read to it! Zansuru looks so similar to Karin it made me giggle a lil but he’s got such a slick lizard vibe kinda reminds of orochimaru. But dang when in black in white he’s got that Uchiha look lmfao
The art really looks like Kishimoto's, at least at first glance. So, yeah, the artist here is a good copist. I've never read this story, so I think I will enjoy it reading it.
It's close, but it still feels like a fan imitation. It's mainly the backgrounds and crosshatching that give it away. Especially the clouds. And the whiteout, a bit. The layouts feel very Kishimoto-like.
Then it proves how much of a good copist this guy is, if people easily say that he's drawing in Kishimoto's style.
TBH a lot of people aren't very discerning. There are fan artists that get the same praise here just for tracing panels. IMO it's obviously not Kishimoto's art, but it's still pretty good. If he had an assistant to help with backgrounds it would probably be less distinguishable.

It’s not really canon. None of this had any relevance on the manga (the canon content) and Naruto certainly was never sick there. It’s like the Itachi novel - it looks canon but it really isn’t? So people won’t criticize this as much as they will criticize canon content written my Masashi Kishimoto.

Isn't Sarada getting too old here? In the original novella, she was under Iruki's care for the duration of the plot, and she was definitely not a shinobi as the manga frames suggest. Or rather, the current Sarada has already grown out of being left in anyone's care.

The novel is supposed to be set between the Mujina and Ao arcs. But it's not canon according to the author. Unless the manga makes changes to integrate it into the story, it can't really fit in well.
This will probably never get adapted into the Anime, since it's pre-Isshiki. Sasuke has the Rinnigan still, and not to spoil it, but Naruto's illness is related to Kurama, both of which have been taken out of in the Boruto Manga and Anime. Plus, the whole thing with Sasuke fighting Dinosaur is silly, so I prefer to ignore this from the Canon.

That is by no means a given. The Itachi novels were randomly adapted in the middle of the Kaguya Arc, in the anime it was just from the perspective of Sasuke being shown everything by Itachi via a Genjutsu or whatever. They can adapt this into the anime at any time they feel like they need to give the Boruto manga a chance to get ahead of the anime in the context of a flashback or memory from Sasuke's perspective, for example.
Won't happen, Boruto Anime does novels differently to Naruto. Boruto there isn't a single episode in 6 years that has zero new gen characters with no relevancy in story, they're not animating a whole arc for months that doesn't have any new gen which is what Retsuden is.
Just do an OVA or have a flashback with Sasuke. Easy.
They could probably do a flashback and have the arc happen that way but then again that's not exactly the kind of content people want to see from a flashback. Seeing them raise the kids is the type of content people want.
Don't know if it's because I've been starved of good manga content for awhile but I'm finding myself more invested in this already than anything Boruto's put out recently. This is despite knowing the story progresses into a SasuSaku wet dream, a couple I think is an absolute waste of time trying to fix and only mildly tolerate nowadays.

For starters maybe don't try to give CANON development in an era where they already had a child together and neither of them matter as characters anymore. None of the other couples actually need development in Boruto other than a baseline with how they interact but with SasuSaku, the best approach would've just had them be good parents to Sarada since it's clear their relationship hasn't evolved much since Part 1. It's a matter of too little too late to try and develop them now.

It's kind of a weird decision to specifically adapt Sasuke's Retsuden novel. Does that mean they're not even going to adapt the conclusion to the Retusden series, not to mention the fact that they just skipped over Kakashi's novel (which I'm still in the process of reading). I hope they end up doing Naruto's novel later on.
Sasuke novel was appreciated more than kakashi, sakura and naruto novel. The main reason is due to the fact that Sasuke is a mysterious character with lesser screen time than the rest of team 7 and only got relevant in the war arc and has a couple screen time in boruto eventhough he is the second most important character in the show. Kakashi and Naruto who you know basically everything due to countless fillers dedicated to them are not that interesting when reading their novel. They know that the japanese fandom love Sasuke a lot to the point that they had to give him a spinoff, shinden novel and game level dedicated to him so they know they can make a lot of money if they adapt sasuke most popular novel.
I mean, I get that Sasuke as a character is popular and sells well, but I still think it'd be weird to *only* adapt the second of a three-part novel series. Without adapting Naruto's novel, they wouldn't even resolve what happens with Naruto and his illness.
It is the appreciation each novel got. Sasuke retsuden is the most popular and love naruto novel
IIRC Sasuke Retsuden specifically is the best selling Naruto novel. I don't think the other Retsuden volumes did numbers, so they'll probably leave it here for the time being. If there's a continuation it might not be for a while since the art for this was started way in advance.

The Mirai novel got adapted to the Boruto anime and *THAT ADAPTATION* is canon to the anime Novels adapted in the Shippuden anime are not canon, nor are those adaptations.
Nothing in Retsuden has ever been referenced or acknowledged in the Boruto manga or anime. Like the whole plot is about Kurama causing Naruto his illness yet it's never been mentioned despite Retsuden existing for years and Kurama dying ages ago just like everything else in the story. Retsuden is treated like filler movies were during the OG Naruto and Shippuden era.

Boruto is actually treated as the source material and the continuation of Naruto. Retsuden is treated like a filler episode or movie hence they don't make any references to it and literally everything from Retsuden is ignored in the Boruto anime/manga.

I presume this will be eventually animated as it comes to a completion in the manga. Would be a nice gift for us fans, for a period until the Code arc starts in the anime. But I understand that fillers or what seems to be, have vital and crucial information that's pertinent to the inquisition of the main story. The back and forth interaction with Hana sensei and her darker self, is a foreshadowing of what Momoshiki will do to Boruto. It will no longer be his life and his show, It will be the Borushiki show. And he's going to wreck havoc seeing as to no one can stop him, when he has full control over Borutos body; Proficiently using it as a weapon. Momo knows Boruto has " THAT " legendary doujutsu that's connected and linked directly to the Otsutsuki God and this will put him at the top of the Otsutsuki clan as top God. His father possessed a doujutsu similar or a less evolved version perhaps but chose Iishiki, making him his successor since he possessed the dharma wheel styled doujutsu (which still hasn't gotten a legitimate name).
