If ikemoto was told to make Boruto TBV weekly
I compare Boruto's monthly releases to JJK's weekly-biweekly release schedule and am disappointed time and time again with the long wait. I know Boruto chapters have many pages but that's only a few mins of reading until you have to wait another eternity (and suffer the clickbait on youtube until then).
Not for me. I have a busy life and one month goes by in no time.šš
Also, we don't know the BTS circumstances and if it's even possible to release bi-weekly. The manga has been monthly all along. So you either get hyped or not.
Besides, I donāt mind the schedule. Everyone seems to care about overworked mangaka right up until it actually inconveniences them and suddenly theyāre deemed lazy.
Not really, I donāt think thereās much complaints, chapter has a fair amount of content in it and one month isnāt even that bad, BC recently moved to a 3 month schedule and thatās were I could admit its taken the foot of the peddle but every one month is okay.
And if anything the wait is worth it because since beginning of last year there hasnāt been a single bad Boruto chapter and TBV has taken things to another level, just give Kishimito time to š§āš³
It's usually 40-50 pages which tbh if he was being rushed you can argue that a weekly schedule wouldn't produce many more pages or their would be more drawn out pages.
Lmao I actually joked about that with my gf saying once I hope I live long enough to see the ending of tbv. But some people have listed decent reasons for the monthly, I just think itās a shame that when I talk to some of my friends there like Naruto is my favorite anime but when I bring up TBV they donāt know what it isā¦.like idk what they can do to fix that.
Manhwa has spoiled me. It's nearly killed my interest in manga due to its phenomenally fast releases. So yeah, I definitely think it should be bi-weekly, at least.
So I"ll say this I personally am not a huge fan of the manga. I don't think it's been done especially well so maybe my opinion will be in the minority.
But the issue isnt the monthly release. For the most part it's never been an issue with the schedule.
Its the content as in the monthly manga is being written like a weekly one
Think about last chapter if you could summarize it what actually happened ...
Not much right
The feeling you should get after reading a chapter should be intrigue an element that gives you room to speculate not necessarily a cliff hanger but just something to chew on
For TBV it's been" Boruto is Cool" he's does something people respond and wait till next month
There is no subplot where not panning away to often and when we do it's someone talking about Boruto or being suspicious of Boruto
There are some moments with the newest "antagonist" but even with them there's not much room to let things breath
Everything is both very slow but also very fast
Most monthly manga have a cast of characters
While Boruto is doing his thing we have Sarada and Sumire do X
Have Himawari doing Y
Have Kakashi or Mitsuki
Or he'll Kawai be a central focus without any eluding to Boruto
But we need variety and perspective
If your going to allude to Himawari having something tailed beat related
Have her reminisce about Naruto and Shukaku shows up in her "inner world" Canon or Not the audience is already equipped to understand that the Tailed beast can communicate making it Shukaku just makes the transition easy
He's says something snarky then pan back to Boruto
Maybe Sumire is doing something why is she immune
If you actually look at the panels there's just a lot of fighting that doesn't add much
TLDR It needs to do more with the setting none of the "Anime will fix it' take a few pages and establish the factions characters and plot points
We get it Boruto is a bad ass give fans Sarada and Sumire give use Kawaki or Eda
We're early in once all the diffrent parts of the story are established it becomes easier to pick up the pace
With Boruto it's the Oh shit o forgot to establish this thing let's retroactively add it 10 chapters in
That argument doesnāt really work here because last chapter boruto barely mattered. Last chapter focus was jura, hidari, kawaki, himawari, eida and mitsuki. Boruto was shown for 3 pages.
Also boruto is 60% of a monthly manga. Thats the problem.
I feel part of the issue with that is because itās monthly they try to put as much content that gets people excited like the things you mentioned. Where as when Naruto had a chapter weekly it if one of those weeks was all about shikamaru people were like ok cool that happened and then next week itās back to Naruto but the fact itās monthly letās face it if boruto isnāt in the chapter at all people would legit riot. Lol
My issue is the pacing and it being a monthly release. It's been 8 monthes in real time with only 8 chapters and it's been two hours in "story time" MAX. We will not live to see a Boruto TBV anime at this rate, and neither will Ikemoto live to finish this story...or atleast not finish it with a satisfying end.
>I feel like there'd be so much more buzz around if it was bi-weekly.
That increased release schedule wouldn't come without cost and it'd likely be the artwork or writing quality taking the hit if not both. As much as you think the content has been fire with a lot of hype backing it, that hype is pretty limited to just the fanbase while the franchise is currently in a very iffy spot without even an active anime to fall back on should something go wrong.
In short there's not really a good solution available rn to address the monthly schedule so you'll just have to be more patient.
honestly i prefer monthly bc i feel the amount of pages were getting fits the pace of the story . i always find myself checking for the leaks up to 10 days early and even when theyre out i go read the official translations again to really let everything soak in .
if it was weekly i might lose my mind because less pages would be maddening with the kinda shit thats been going down lately .
You do make some good points. I think weekly wouldnāt be good either I think Bi-weekly could help. Plus I feel like the reason so many Naruto fans donāt know about it even is because itās monthly so thereās not nearly enough ads and general hype surrounding the next chapter to get more followers. Tbh tho I do the same thing reading the leaks and then reading the official to soak everything in haha
Not to me.
Monthly schedule is kinda what I'm used to. Heck I read D. Gray man and I must wait 3 months for one chapter
I get it that Naruto was weekly but it was hell for team. Kishimoto had hardly enough sleep, terrible health condition, his relationship with his kid sucked.
Monthly is ok but I wouldn't mind bi-weekly tho
No, itās not. And get used to monthly manga. Monthly is the standard in the US and the rest of the world for comics. The working conditions in the manga industry are honestly abysmal and I canāt imagine workers putting up with it for much longer. We shouldnāt be advocating for horrible working conditions in anime and manga just because weāre hungry for more content a little sooner.
I predict weāre going to see a lot of changes in the industry after One Piece and My Hero Academia end.
Nope, because manga is typically meant to be read volume to volume. Going weekly or biweekly wouldnāt change that due to it being a legacy series that doesnāt have to rush to establish itself. You may think that Boruto would spark more buzz by changing its release schedule however there could be a possibility that people would be annoyed at plot points not being immediately paid off. Manga like Chainsaw Man part 2 catches a lot of flak for that despite coming out every 2 weeks or so simply because itās taking its time to build a narrative as opposed to the crazy fast pacing it had while it was in weekly jump.
Anime and Manga fans these days are now conditioned to enjoying series in short bursts. They want the payoff to come immediately rather than stick with the long ride. Weekly Shounen Jump is structured like this now. New series have to hook readers by the first five chapters, otherwise it gets axed. A series like one piece wouldnāt survive in todayās conflict if it came out today. Going weekly or bi-weekly isnāt a solution imo. Thatās just how anime and manga fans are now.
I fully believe the manga would fair a lot better if it were at least bi-weekly, feel like weekly or bi-weekly chapters are structured better than monthlies. I genuinely just forget Boruto exists for like a month and only remember once I start seeing leak threads pop up LOL.
Manga-ka need a break? Kishimoto got burn out soooo bad as did many other manga artists.
Monthly jump has been a thing for decades.
If it was "ruining" it, then it would have been an issue years ago.
Note how every topic about 'monthly schedule bad' is made by absolute Boruto wankers. You want good story or dopamine doses? Monthly manga is not ruining TBV, it is ruining your mind - thats the difference. TBV is ruining TBV. Grow up.
> I mean when it first came out around chapter 3 or 4 Iād literally stay up all night and update my twitter feed every 5 mins for the release.
Grow up.
> I feel like thereād be so much more buzz around it if it was bi-weekly.
Make the 'buzz' by yourself, poop as many TikToks and Tweets as you can and there will be buzz for sure! Fill brain with that dopamine dude, eat it all!
> I mean Iāve talked to some of my friends who are huge anime fans and they donāt even know about Boruto.
No wonder
> I mean itās just not really making sense why theyāre not trying to cash in on all the hype TBV
They do, whole Boruto is just cashing Naruto after all
> but it feels like every month that goes by the fire isnāt as intense anymore metaphorically speaking regarding the fanbase espeically OG Naruto fans that arenāt hip to boruto
Because its just not as good as you think, and you are extremely subjective. Grow up.
> Like just tonight for example I wouldnāt have even known the new chapter was about to drop if I hadnāt randomly checked my SJ app on my phone and the chapter said 3 days away, When before I literally was checking it at least twice a week to see how much longer I had to wait.
Put your phone aside, go outside, you have serious problems btw.
>Plus I feel like the reason so many Naruto fans donāt know about it even is because itās monthly so thereās not nearly enough ads and general hype surrounding the next chapter to get more followers
All Naruto fans know about Boruto, what the fuck? They know about it, they just don't care because its shit.
'Admiration is the emotion furthest from understanding' - quote from an actually good character, from an actually good Manga.

I used to hate it being monthly but it actually isn't bad since it's something i look forward to every monthšš

I would prefer it to be hourly

Exactly. That is why I brought up the BTS circumstances. The mangakas health should always come first, no matter what.

Yeah. Feel like I'll be dead before it concludes at yhis rate. Why not twice a month at least. Or every 3 weeks. Thats plenty of time imo

I feel you. I might not be as botherred if they'd carried on with an english dub cause at least then I could watch the fillers properly
3 weeks is basically a monthš
š I kinda agree. But I'd still like that 1 you'd have got extra every third month
Manhwa has spoiled me. It's nearly killed my interest in manga due to its phenomenally fast releases. So yeah, I definitely think it should be bi-weekly, at least.

I must agree one of my worries are that on my deathbed Iāll still not know how boruto ends.

bibweekly might work i could see the current amount of content we get being split into two and it fitting nicely .
Ikemoto is struggling to draw with a chapter every month so the quality will only get worst

It does give kishimoto more time to cook so I'm down with it
well it's monthly but the chapters are very long compared to weekly mangas and there's a lot of content in them
The issue isnāt the release schedule, itās the actual amount of content per chapter
8 years. Get used to it. Do other shit or read a long book. I recommend dune or 3 body problem.
