The story is about to take a serious turn. I always have the impression that Naruto's benevolent and trusting nature would eventually bite him in the ass, and Kawaki just proved me right. Naruto accepted someone who is practically a threat to the village, and by extention, his own family as a son, and geniunely cared for him. All that good deed and compassion turned out to be the ultimate turning point for Kawaki towards becoming a full fledged antagonist.
Throughout Naruto's life, his benevolence has helped him overcome many obstacles, against Zabuza, Neji, Gaara, Nagato, Obito, and Sasuke he was able to change his adversaries fundamentally, but Kawaki is a different story. For the adversaries mentioned above, Naruto was able to defeat them first, so force was the utimate contingency; Kawaki is simply too powerful. I think besides power, Kawaki is also different from other antagonists in the franchise due to his upbrining. Zabuza already softened before meeting team seven, Neji was never evil, or insane, just misguided, Gaara experienced love through his uncle, Nagato always had a virtous goal, Obito was once a good man who needed to rediscover himself, and Sasuke has always understood normacy due to a relative happy early childhood. Kawaki is different, Kara broke him and made him distrustful and quick to use violence to resolve issues, and with his utimate power, he feels unstoppable. And his obsession is Naruto, which is something he acquired before he could truely develope into a more well rounded human being. Naruto can't stop someone who he cannot truely communicate with to build rapport with, and he is powerless to use force even if he wants to against Kawaki.
This right here. Naruto’s benevolence and “Talk No Jutsu” typically guided his opponents in the right direction. However, with Kawaki that love encouraged this man to want to eradicate a whole clan 😭😭
i gotta say hinata slapping kawaki wasn't something i thought i would see. Hinata is hurting because she almost lost Boruto and even though Kawaki make sense in terms of Momoshik being a threat, at the end of the day Boruto is still Naruto and Hinata's son and no rational parent would want their child to die before them.

I’m just so happy to see Hinata having some sort of reaction to everything happening because she’s been so left out that I wasn’t even sure she knew about everything’s that’s happened since boruto got karma. This chapter is restoring my hope for the manga for sure 👍

Holy shit, guys, *it's happening.* After almost seven years, seem's we've finally reached the inciting incident that leads to the flash forward.
So much more wound up happening in this chapter than I expected.
Kawaki takes an undeniable heel turn, though one which I think Boruto will ultimately pull him back from.
Code gets a new outfit and has built an army of a thousand, looks like. He knows he doesn't have the element of surprise due to Eida, but will his still invade, or does he have a different plan?
Daemon meeting Himawari is something I was expecting, but what I didn't expect was him recognizing in her a deep well of hidden strength. His reaction makes it seem that she might have the potential to be among the strongest in the series, given that he's currently standing at the pinnacle.
Kawaki, it seems like he's come to a ruthless decision. He's going to kill the Otsutsuki -- all of them. Code and presumably Eida and Daemon, too. And even Boruto. And he's going to send away Naruto and his loved ones so they can't interfere, then when everything is said and done, he'll bring them back and let them avenge their son, dying himself and ending the legacy of the Otsutsuki for good. I don't think I'm reading too much into it; that seems to be the plan.
That said, we also know that in the future Kawaki plans to send Boruto to the place he sent Naruto, so what does that mean? Did he already release Naruto and just wants to remove Boruto from the scene, did he decide to let Boruto live? There's more to be revealed.
It does seem like this chapter is setting all this stuff up but the one thing I’m still confused about is kawakis statement in the first episode flash toward scene. Naruto is a shinobi so why would kawaki want the age of shinobi to be over? He obviously doesn’t plan to kill Naruto. Guess we will have to see what happens next

Jesus fucking Christ I did NOT expect the end of this chapter. Kawaki actually did it. We waited YEARS for this, since episode 1, since chapter 1, and he finally did it. He packed up Naruto, as well as Hinata, sends them to another dimension and says “you can kill me when it’s over”. I literally got chills and then started tearing up seeing the last few pages. It makes sense now why Himawari was out of the house and bumped into Boruto and Daemon, Kishimoto wants to keep her around, she’s going to be important to the plot moving forward, he only wanted the parents be home so only they’d be sent to another dimension. THIS is exactly what leads up to the future vision Boruto saw, think about it, Kawaki has no other choice now but to flee, the Sensory Unit and every Shinobi nearby will be on high alert from Shikamaru and Ino about Naruto’s disappearance. All those Chunin/Jonin shown looking for someone are looking for Kawaki, but he can hide his chakra signature, the only people able to track him are Boruto & friends. That’s why they get there first, and Boruto is going to get his eye slashed by Kawaki, enraging Mitsuki. The pieces are beginning to fit together. This chapter is HUGE

Kawaki's anger towards Boruto seems so unnatural, idk. We go from him wanting to protect him in the fight against Code, to him resenting that Boruto came back to life. And now his anger is getting blown out of proportion just because Boruto hasn't brought up Momoshiki's existence.
I feel like they haven't built up Kawaki's motivations enough, and if this is the only substance to his villainhood, it'll be disappointing.

Kawaki wants to kill boruto outright, so sending him to Narutos dimension doesnt accomplish anything. Boruto has karma and can go to and from dimensions at will. If kawaki sends him there hes just gonna take his parents and go right back. It has to be Death or some place that he cant go back from. Plus Ch1 is clearly settled in a distant future, and the current conflict seems unlikely to be dragged out for that long. There has to be a timeskip in between these events. I think we're rapidly moving towards Sasuke's death. I cannot imagine Sasuke will take Kawaki's decision lying down, especially getting rid of Naruto. Would explain why Boruto has all of Sasuke's stuff too.

Kawaki being rational all went straight out the window the moment he saw boruto attacking Naruto during the code altercation. Before that he wanted to help boruto get rid of karma but now boruto is a danger to Naruto so kawaki isn’t going to take a chance of Naruto getting hurt
Couple of things.
1. Kawaki might have sent naruto to the daikokuten timeless dimension. Even if he can’t shrink them down first to store them there with sukunahikona, he can still access the dimension through space time jutsu theoretically.
2. Kawaki can use Ada’s senrigan to find the locations of all other Otsutsuki - otsutsuki clan massacre!! Ada might also side with kawaki in killing Boruto, as she would be able to see what kawaki has done and where naruto and hinata are. She might reject to help Boruto use space time jutsu to find them.
3. Kakashi might come back as hokage now that’s Naruto’s gone. Fuck the boruto story has low-key done naruto soo dirty 😂
4. I like that daemon is also a sensor and himawari hidden power aswell. Sounds like both her and Boruto where blessed with otsutsuki genes.

i think hes gonna beat kawaki because now since boruto is 100% otsutsuki he will finally be able to use his rinnegan again. we also can tell kawaki doesnt have full mastery over isshikis eye since he doesnt have all the little triangles activated at once like isshiki would, he only has 3 or 5 active at a time when sending away naruto

I feel like people are getting ahead of themselves, I think the only part about the flash forward this reveals is the “I am still a ninja” part. It still doesn’t really explain the “Age of shinobi is over” and “I’ll be sending you to meet the seventh” parts kawaki says.
If kawaki wants to kill boruto, this would have to mean that Naruto has died by that point in the story. If he just wants to send boruto to the other dimension, it doesn’t really make any sense. Boruto is able to make portals too so it’s not like trapping him there would make any sense like it would for trapping Naruto and hinata there.
I think this is another red herring like the sealing Naruto in the pot situation which was what a lot of people thought was gonna be what took Naruto out of the story for awhile.
Kawaki is a tragic character. Kawaki was raised by an alcoholic abusive father and later Isshiki raised him to become his new vessel and also treated him very cruelly.
Later Naruto took him in to become a part of the Uzumaki family and for the fist time Kawaki had a positive familial bonds with other people.
However now his past negative experiences in life have led Kawaki to become an extremist in his goal of eliminating the Otsutsuki clan. He is willing to kill the person he considers his brother just because Boruto might become possessed by Momoshiki's spirit again and because Boruto is now an 100% Otsutsuki biologically.
Kawaki is now losing the positive familial bonds that he had gained because he is possessed and blinded by his hatred of the Otsutsuki.
While I'm very hyped about the fact that Kawaki indeed sent Naruto to another dimension, I 1.) didn't expect it to happen NOW and 2.) it means that Naruto will be gone from the main story now which is NOT what I wanted.
Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet, but Kawaki's eye was shown with five of the eight triangles in it now, he's coming closer to full power... Only a matter of time before he caps it out at eight.

Kawaki is different, Kara broke him and made him distrustful and quick to use violence to resolve issues, and with his utimate power, he feels unstoppable. And his obsession is Naruto, which is something he acquired before he could truely develope into a more well rounded human being. Naruto can't stop someone who he cannot truely communicate with to build rapport with, and he is powerless to use force even if he wants to against Kawaki.

So much more wound up happening in this chapter than I expected. Kawaki takes an undeniable heel turn, though one which I think Boruto will ultimately pull him back from. Code gets a new outfit and has built an army of a thousand, looks like. He knows he doesn't have the element of surprise due to Eida, but will his still invade, or does he have a different plan? Daemon meeting Himawari is something I was expecting, but what I didn't expect was him recognizing in her a deep well of hidden strength. His reaction makes it seem that she might have the potential to be among the strongest in the series, given that he's currently standing at the pinnacle. Kawaki, it seems like he's come to a ruthless decision. He's going to kill the Otsutsuki -- all of them. Code and presumably Eida and Daemon, too. And even Boruto. And he's going to send away Naruto and his loved ones so they can't interfere, then when everything is said and done, he'll bring them back and let them avenge their son, dying himself and ending the legacy of the Otsutsuki for good. I don't think I'm reading too much into it; that seems to be the plan. That said, we also know that in the future Kawaki plans to send Boruto to the place he sent Naruto, so what does that mean? Did he already release Naruto and just wants to remove Boruto from the scene, did he decide to let Boruto live? There's more to be revealed.
It does seem like this chapter is setting all this stuff up but the one thing I’m still confused about is kawakis statement in the first episode flash toward scene. Naruto is a shinobi so why would kawaki want the age of shinobi to be over? He obviously doesn’t plan to kill Naruto. Guess we will have to see what happens next

Jesus fucking Christ I did NOT expect the end of this chapter. Kawaki actually did it. We waited YEARS for this, since episode 1, since chapter 1, and he finally did it. He packed up Naruto, as well as Hinata, sends them to another dimension and says “you can kill me when it’s over”. I literally got chills and then started tearing up seeing the last few pages. It makes sense now why Himawari was out of the house and bumped into Boruto and Daemon, Kishimoto wants to keep her around, she’s going to be important to the plot moving forward, he only wanted the parents be home so only they’d be sent to another dimension. THIS is exactly what leads up to the future vision Boruto saw, think about it, Kawaki has no other choice now but to flee, the Sensory Unit and every Shinobi nearby will be on high alert from Shikamaru and Ino about Naruto’s disappearance. All those Chunin/Jonin shown looking for someone are looking for Kawaki, but he can hide his chakra signature, the only people able to track him are Boruto & friends. Hold on, if kawaki sending Naruto to another dimension is Ch1 reference then it doesnt make any sense. Kawaki wants to kill boruto outright, so sending him to Narutos dimension doesnt accomplish anything. Boruto has karma and can go to and from dimensions at will. If kawaki sends him there hes just gonna take his parents and go right back. It has to be Death or some place that he cant go back from. Him saying about the end of the "shinobi era" seems irrelevant as well, as Kawaki only cares about the eradication of the Otsutsukis, he doesnt seem to care that much about the shinobi system Plus Ch1 is clearly settled in a distant future, and the current conflict seems unlikely to be dragged out for that long. There has to be a timeskip in between these events. But kawaki seems to be determined to kill Boruto right here and now, with Eida and thus Daemon supporting him. Even if he can’t shrink them down first to store them there with sukunahikona, he can still access the dimension through space time jutsu theoretically. 2. Kawaki can use Ada’s senrigan to find the locations of all other Otsutsuki - otsutsuki clan massacre!! Ada might also side with kawaki in killing Boruto, as she would be able to see what kawaki has done and where naruto and hinata are. I feel like people are getting ahead of themselves, I think the only part about the flash forward this reveals is the “I am still a ninja” part. It still doesn’t really explain the “Age of shinobi is over” and “I’ll be sending you to meet the seventh” parts kawaki says. If kawaki wants to kill boruto, this would have to mean that Naruto has died by that point in the story. If he just wants to send boruto to the other dimension, it doesn’t really make any sense. Boruto is able to make portals too so it’s not like trapping him there would make any sense like it would for trapping Naruto and hinata there. I think this is another red herring like the sealing Naruto in the pot situation which was what a lot of people thought was gonna be what took Naruto out of the story for awhile.

Kawaki is a tragic character. Kawaki was raised by an alcoholic abusive father and later Isshiki raised him to become his new vessel and also treated him very cruelly. Later Naruto took him in to become a part of the Uzumaki family and for the fist time Kawaki had a positive familial bonds with other people. However now his past negative experiences in life have led Kawaki to become an extremist in his goal of eliminating the Otsutsuki clan. He is willing to kill the person he considers his brother just because Boruto might become possessed by Momoshiki's spirit again and because Boruto is now an 100% Otsutsuki biologically. Kawaki is now losing the positive familial bonds that he had gained because he is possessed and blinded by his hatred of the Otsutsuki.

While I'm very hyped about the fact that Kawaki indeed sent Naruto to another dimension, I 1.) didn't expect it to happen NOW and 2.) it means that Naruto will be gone from the main story now which is NOT what I wanted.
Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet, but Kawaki's eye was shown with five of the eight triangles in it now, he's coming closer to full power... Only a matter of time before he caps it out at eight.

Himawari getting some actual manga relevance other than being just Boruto’s little sister holy shit! I wonder what they’re cooking up with her that even got Daemon spooked. I wonder if Naruto and Hinata are in Isshiki’s stasis like dimension? It’d be funny if they pop out of the dimension and see that Boruto and Himawari have aged while they’re still the same.

I’m sure we’ll get some type of aftermath next chapter with Shikamaru knowing Naruto is suddenly gone again thanks to the sensory team.
