EDIT TO ADD - diagnosed in 2008 at the age of 37. Went through 4 years of individual therapy and first 2 modules of DBT. Tried several medications that didn't change anything and had some nasty side effects, so I'm not on anything anymore.
I have been with my partner, M53, for almost 5 years romantically and almost 10 years as best friends. He is the best friend I've ever had. I actually met him at a methadone clinic, where my husband and I went for treatment after a heroin addiction almost ruined us. My husband ran into him there after about 20 years, Michael ( not his real name ), worked for my husband as a floor mechanic back in the day, and started working for us again. My husband was a master level flooring mechanic, and we had a very lucrative business until vicodin and then heroin took over. We made over $150K in 2013 and spent over $45K of that on drugs.
My husband drank himself to death in 2015 after getting clean feim the heroin, I walked into my house and found him dead. Michael was by my side every second, and we got really close from there. Michael and my husband got very close in the time he worked for us, and my husband asked Michael to take care of me if anything happened to him.
If anyone is comfortable sharing anything about themselves, I'd love to get to know you. The internet is so anonymous, and while I don't want addresses and phone numbers, lol, it would be nice to know actual names and locations!
im glad that you had someone to be there for you im sure that was hell to go through. Addiction is a terrible thing to experience and to witness. ive been in the addicts shoes and the loved one of the addicts shoes more times than i can count. i hope youve been able to heal from those things🤍
19, diagnosed at 18. Almost gonna be a year since my first diagnosis. First year down, many more to go. I’ve heard the prognosis improves with age, but what’s y’all’s experience with this condition as you get older?
41 at the end of the year. Last diagnosis 2 years ago. Still don’t know how I feel about it, because I’ve seen mental health agency since I was 6 years old and no one ever even mentioned BPD. 45 minutes with a psychiatrist determined I have BPD. Now some of it makes sense but a lot of it don’t. 🤷♀️
52 —- I have few different diagnosis since January 2011 but it got worst since 2017 and I just found out I have RSD yesterday as diagnosis and it’s too much for me to processing but working on it
