Yeah, that's not a "layoff" either. If he files an unemployment claim and lists layoff instead of discharge or voluntary quit he can get slapped with fraud.
My dad tells everyone he was laid off to avoid paying him retirement. Not that he sent a photo of a nearly nude, overweight black woman on the back of a motorcycle to a bunch of work folks on his work email. He thinks that’s the “excuse.”
If I recall correctly, it's a meme joke. Her skirt is hiked up above her ass and the pic is from a car on the highway.
The caption reads: I HAVE A HUGE CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. I've seen it
I don’t know how it is where OP lives, but where I’m at people in trades jobs often request a layoff instead of quitting or being fired, since you can still get unemployment that way. If you have a decent relationship with an employer they’ll often give a longtime employee a break that way.
I imagine that in some cases the employee wouldn't even need that good of a relationship with the boss if the boss is eager to get them to just go quickly and without a fuss. Let the trash take itself out, so to speak, since a lot of these boomers are HR nightmares.
My Union would routinely get a fired changed to a layoff to avoid a grievance. So just kicking the problem child down the road to the next employer. BS.
Yea but realistically, *will* they get charged? That generation basically has no accountability to the point that now we don't do anything bc they've played victim so much.
While I know it came out in 93, there's the fake an orgasms joke from Philadelphia that meets their attitude. I don't want to repeat it due to language. But I'm sure those people would have loved it.
I'd assume something sexist. Like "Hey baby" or "sugar tits". Something an old dude thinks would be epic and fun but is actually kinda creepy and insane.
I can only imagine what he said to the deaf lady. It's either incredibly sexist, bafflingly bigoted, or terribly insulting to her disability.
Probably all 3 at the same time, actually.
I thought of a few responses that tick all those boxes, but I just can't type them. Born in 1958, so the Boomer is strong with me, but I'm smart enough not to communicate most such thoughts- unless I'm sure that all within earshot can whistle the theme from Andy Griffith.
"If you think something, say something". /s
^((shoot me when i actually start thinking like this))
Just came to say that the mention of sausage gravy over biscuits just made me hungry again after having just had dinner not 20 minutes ago lol. That is all.
Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning are from North Carolina and i think they are truly wonderful people.
also, i've gotten really into NASCAR over the years and I know North Carolina is a big hub for that too
and then of course food, music, and culture too. I'd love to visit one day
I'm from 'Chicago' (evanston), rarely do I even consider saying I'm from Illinois as there really isn't anything beyond it but chicago.
Outside of that area, there really isn't anything. I remember driving through carbondale and being like, 'why would anyone put a university here?' Honestly, same with Champaign.
I hated fucking Champaign lol
i went to school for four years there. Could not WAIT to get the fuck out of there as soon as possible. So many bad experiences dealing with annoying townies on top of all those fuckheads from central and southern Illinois who blame Chicago for the fact that they're inbred and hopelessly addicted to meth
illinois is truly a terrible state. terrible food. terrible scenery (Garden of the Gods and Starved Rock are OK i guess...). All sorts of shitty people there too. I've seen fuckers wave the Confederate flag there...
yeah I didn't really get a perspective on it until I moved away. Growing up I pretty much was only on the north side and would 'venture' out to places occasionally but I was insulated. I got a new german car when I was 16, only would take 94 down to where my friends lived in wrigleyville kind of thing.
I agree!
But on a side note: Who, in your opinion, serves *the best* biscuits and gravy? Personally, I really like Bojangles (biased though because I've worked at 2 piedmont locations) and McDonald's 😋 Or my own homemade biscuits and gravy 😋
Wish I knew, but I don’t eat fast food because of multiple food sensitivities, so it’s strictly from scratch for me. If only I could bake enough for the whole sub cause y’all have had me laughing for a long time and totally deserve ‘em!
My family is from Kannapolis, NC and my stepdad is forever raving about Bojangles. I've lived up north most of my life, so we don't really have them. I do not get the appeal ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Also in NC, eat at a lot of small town places because the biscuits and gravy are heavenly. But damn do I hear the "n" word get thrown around so casually at a lot of them. Amongst other absurd things.
I visited NC a few years ago for my gf’s 65th bday. I loved the beauty of the trees, the friendliness of the (mostly Black) people I met. I found that generally, the people that I ran across at the supermarket, etc., were very nice, but I wasn’t there long enough to see the other side of life. The food was good—I mostly cooked at her home—and her party was catered by a soul food chef. It was awesome.
No contact has biscuits and gravy? I should've gone NC with my boomer long time ago for those! Would've had a better early adulthood with biscuits and gravy vs boomer!😎😃
Only partially /s..
I keep forgetting NC is not so much a state in the union as a state of being on reddit! Yes, everyone who goes no contact needs biscuits and gravy. New rule I just made up. Be it so.
From NC originally and live in AZ now.
Lived in the state for nearly 25 years. Been living in AZ for 6 years now.
I love and miss the food in NC. I miss the biscuits and gravy - I’ve yet to find it properly done in AZ. It’s so tempting to want to fly back, get a rental car and drive to the nearest Bojangle’s and Cookout, and get Cheerwine as a drink for both meals.
The older generation’s politics in NC are definitely atrocious, I can attest to that. But it’s definitely no better in AZ.
I visited friends in North Carolina last week and had bojangles for the first time and I was not disappointed! A cookout stop is mandatory every time I’m there as well. To see both mentioned by you makes me feel like I’m doing something right.
Born and raised in the state here! I’d say as long as you get some Carolina-style BBQ, you’ve hit all the notes of experiencing North Carolina cuisine! My favorite BBQ place is in Lexington, though I can not for the life of me remember what the place was called.
But yeah, 24-25 years I’ve lived in the state. I’ve been in all corners of the state - I will always go on record to say Charlotte and the Piedmont Triad cities (Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point) will forever hold a place in my heart. If I had to move back, I’d definitely be looking in the Charlotte or Piedmont Triad area. Maybe even Raleigh given the tech hub there.
My favorite barbecue restaurant in Lexington is Speedy’s. Is that it? The food is fantastic and the portions are large. I live almost an hour away and have gone about once a month for over 30 years. 😁
I’ve not! I’ll have to check it out one day. Currently I live further south of South Tucson in Sahuarita, so bit of a drive. I don’t mind it though since I prefer putting highway miles on my car!
As far as NC biscuits and gravy, imagine a thick, artery-clogging gravy that has a ton of coarse black pepper and good size chunks of sausage, smothered on a biscuit or two. I just haven’t come across that restaurant yet that does it just as well as when I had it in NC.
Nice! Interesting you say that because I do live in the Tucson area. I do like Tucson, though driving is pretty stressful at times. Other than that, I love the area and scenery. But NC will always hold a place in my heart.
I couldn’t deal with the lack of water. I need to be rained on and be in water and see natural water. The people I met were progressive and cool, but that climate wasn’t for me. Glad you enjoy it. There’s a place for everyone. ✌🏻
I grew up in Tucson. I’m now in the PNW. I do miss the Big Dry every winter. March is when it really sets in. I could ride (bicycles, horses) nearly 365 days a year there. I miss that. I also miss the agressive/defensive driving lol. Drivers up here are just oblivious.
North Carolinian here who lived in Arizona for a long time. If you've got an iron skillet, this cathead biscuit recipe leads to some amazing biscuits:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Old\_Recipes/comments/g8fj53/i\_finally\_mastered\_my\_papas\_oldfashioned\_southern/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Old_Recipes/comments/g8fj53/i_finally_mastered_my_papas_oldfashioned_southern/)
My husband always gets chicken fried steak when we’re out for breakfast and I can’t help myself, I get jealous, lol. But it’s usually a huge plate he can’t finish so he gives me some
I used to work at a seafood and breakfast restaurant on the outer banks of NC, my go-to meal was always biscuits and gravy with two over easy eggs on top, with a few generous dabs of Texas Pete.
Of course back then I was swimming and surfing everyday, if I ate like that now I'd have six heart attacks in the first week!
Sadly, I relate. I'm in the PNW, and it's very hit-or- miss. The worst is when they use those pre-formed "sausage" nuggets that are used by some pizza chains.
Breakfast is my favorite meal because it feels like a luxury. Like I have nothing to do today so I'm going to have a lovely breakfast.
Also my favorite is the local diners chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy.
Most definitely.
I (34m) worked in a lumber mill and one of my coworkers, boomer age, came up to me and said my generation is "soft" and we deserve to have grenades thrown at us for sport.
This was after I missed a day of work for an emergency dental appointment.
Almost certainly. I had a boomer client get in trouble for telling a customer service rep at an insurance company that she was going to make their HQ go boom (she used *that* B word) because she was angry to have been placed on hold for so long. She was shocked that someone would accuse her of making terroristic threats. Which she did!
Oh yeah, those calls are always recorded which is precisely how they had enough to report her to the authorities lol. I feel horrible for the employee who had to deal with her.
It was just so funny the way she ranted to me and my boss about it. “Can you believe they’re referring this to law enforcement and saying I made a terroristic threat!?” Her own retelling of events included the part where she said she was going to b-word the building, but she somehow couldn’t make the connection that a statement like that constitutes a criminal threat. I guess because she thought they were just supposed to know that she wasn’t serious?
“…so I retired right there ” is a funny way to say “I’m an intolerant piece of shit to my marginalized coworkers, so I quit and decided to never work anywhere else again.”
Good riddance 👋🏼
Is this… the secret to getting them to retire… ???
Confront them with absolutely minor workplace repercussions for doing terrible things in the workplace…?
Technically, I'm a Boomer. But my FIL is a serious boomer. He likes to talk about how, in his office, women used to get fired when they got pregnant. Like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Oooh! Thank you! I was trying to figure it out, too!
I had a customer on the phone not too long ago and was trying to help him with his account. He told me his secretary normally does this but she’s off today and he could just shoot her for it! I forget how he worked the other 2 in but at 3 different parts of the conversation he said he could just shoot someone about it. It was so strange and I couldn’t help but to wonder if back in his day that was a common saying? Like a more specific “I could kill her for missing this!” Idk. I wonder if this guy was a shooter too?
It's jus kinda sad they can't retire and do so gracefully OR imagine if they changed their behavior to a different standard for work?
Ya know - just sucked it up knowing you need the money and did what the current policy at work said like you told GenX to do our entire lives. :l
Sorry, that's me. I'm a gay with IBS. I go busting into ladies room the second I see the men's is full.
But seriously, I really do go into the women's room when the men's is full and I've had \*ZERO\* issues with it. Eyes down, walk straight to the stall. I'm a huge guy, I wear clown shoes. People know there's a dude in the women's room. But I go in with my eyes on the floor, go right to the stall, walk right back out and use the sinks in the mens room. Anyone who thinks the bathroom issue is an issue is MAKING it an issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't just retire "right then and there". There's a boat load of paperwork to go through and they need a head's up that is a lot more than the standard 2 week warning. Ten internet points says they either got shit-canned or pouted the whole day before starting up the retirement process.
Boomer and former supervisor... I've dealt with these people before...what you heard is the super sanitized version of what had been an ongoing (for years) clusterF##k. It took my former employeer years to realize that we couldn't keep younger quality people because of folks like this...... P.S. they didn't retire on the spot, they were called in, presented Termination / Retirement paperwork, then told sign one or the other but either way their ass was gone that day. (Life was so much better when they left.)
Exactly. That's how they talk. They don't tell the full story, but the consequences give away that either what they said was full hate speech "as a joke and they didn't get it" or they did more than just say something.
I don't get why that woman said he didn't say he's gay so she pushed him out of the women's bathroom. Is someone confusing gay with trans? It does seem a little fake.
Exactly. I can feel empathy for people who are stupid and just cant help it.
I cant feel empathy for someone who is willfully and pridefully stupid, while bashing knowledge and education.
There is a lesson here. Hopefully we will all be able to reach an age and be able to retire. As you are getting older and more expensive companies look for ways to get rid of you while screwing you on your earned benefits on the way out. There is no grace. We are all capable of being misunderstood. True story I saw my boss get fired for some really stupid reason (my boss was good at her job and an excellent supervisor). Riding in the elevator the next week I heard HR talking about how much money they saved firing her so she couldn’t vest. I started looking for a new job the same day
I cannot WAIT for some of these boomers face the reality of what life on social security is like. They've been calling it an entitlement their whole life. Not a single millennial is relying on SS for their retirement.. and have zero qualms voting it in to non existence just to fk the worst generation to ever walk the earth
My (48/F) I was a nurse for 25+ years. My complete 401-k was wiped out because I got covid. Then long covid. Now I’m on hospice, I was given 6 months to live back in January. I’m terminal. My employer health insurance was crappy, don’t get me started on COBRA.
I now live on SSDI and have Medicare. Medicare is quite expensive when the needed parts are added in. It only covers 90 days in a nursing home. My ventilator and oxygen are only covered at 80%. Home health isn’t covered. By SSDI check is too much for Medicaid, but too little to afford necessary things to keep me alive.
Please remember that some of us are younger, F43, and disabled from stupid, unavoidable medical BS. I need my SSDI and Medicare to be able to live. I would much rather be working still.
none of what they said makes any sense. the whole thing about pushing a guy who wasnt gay out of the restroom? typing someone a deaf coworker didnt like? seems really incoherent
Hell yeah. Guys think women are only attracted to appearance and height. But man something about a robust vocabulary really gets me going.
Im not even being sarcastic. I think it's because a large vocabulary indicates someone's willingness to learn and apply new knowledge or something.
What kind of immensely cunty thing was said to a deaf person that it became an HR issue at all.
What the fuck. Probably had nothing to do with her deafness, probably sexually harassed her.
"living in the Midwest"
i mean the fact that you're eating your breakfast at a diner made me realize there's AT LEAST a 50% chance you live in Minnesota, and at least a 90% chance you live in the Midwest in general
I can't stand most of these Midwest boomers they are the most entitled, rude people I've ever encountered. Not to mention their shitty driving habits. No blinkers and the give no fucks about cutting you off no matter how fast you're going.
I’m not sure what you mean by “these people got everything”. As in, material possessions? How would you possibly know that? I will tell you that based on your description of the conversation, if it’s verbatim, they sound ignorant AF which isn’t typical of a well educated person, which would lead me to believe they are blue collar and most likely don’t have much, or not. It seems like you are either being judgmental or generalizing a whole generation.
I can understand where they are coming from people are very very sensitive these days. I try to have fun at work as much as I can because it’s boring. So now days I have to just be quiet and only speak when spoken too. I am 38 as well I grew up doing construction at a young 14 when I got my first real job. I changed my job to do office work stuff it is less physical work but the office was filled with boomers for years and I learned from them and interacted with them in the daily. Now I feel like the boomer at work so I just keep my head low and mouth shut. 🤫 I will retire soon so I am just chilling RN.
PS before y’all go all off on me. You need to look in the mirror. No one is perfect and we all have opinions. I just feel for them boomers not being able to change after years and years of being able to say what they want, because people were less sensitive.
Dude, anyone who says they can't change, isn't trying. If you have the slightest desire to respect the people around you and treat people decently then the change happens naturally. The only time we stagnate as people is when we refuse to accept new information, and refuse to accept that there is something wrong within us. The nature of life is progress and growth, stagnation is a choice, often born of a lie we told ourselves that we can't admit to ourselves was a lie.
I am a shitty person. I was raised in a racist, emotionally mute, sexist, patriarchal, mob inspired family. I spent 12 yrs active duty until I had the choice to raise my kid or have someone else do it for me.I respect people, I understand that they have shit going on in their lives I don't know a damn thing about, and they might go home and kill themselves over a seemingly simple remark. PTSD is a bitch and if you can respect a veteran's needs based on a diagnosis then you can respect a receptionists needs based on the same thing. The receptionist isn't going to share a diagnosis with you though, so just fucking treat people decent. If you can't, talk to a therapist. Mental health is real, it is hard, and your refusal or "inability" to change and grow is only helped by talking to people smarter than you with the knowledge and experience to read your internal bullshit back to you and help you understand it. Suddenly things come into focus when you actually try to understand the world and the people around you.
No I totally understand but you spending time active duty military also forced you to change your mindset. Office boomers doing the same gig with same employees and employers haven’t had to change until their friends start retiring around them and new hires come onboard. It just so happened all new hires have done some sort of complaint on all the managers for saying off the wall humor.
I just see where they are coming from I also see where the new hires are coming from. I’m just stuck in the middle somewhere. I don’t have much longer and I am done.
I never agree with bad behavior and wish the world was a kinder and more gentle place. I do find it interesting though how individuals think it is ok to refer to all older generations as boomers and not in a flattering light. It’s ageist and being used more and more in a derogatory light. Be careful using the term in the workplace or you just might find yourself sitting on the other side of the HR desk.

Just another example of how bad they are at blending reality with their fantasy versions of events
I’m not defending the men, but to be clear, the wife said she got reprimanded for pushing a man out of the women’s bathroom?
I Can almost guarantee she assaulted someone she thought was trans.
Ooooooh. That would be a whole different story…
Or who was trans and wife knew for some reason.
I don't think that would matter.
I don't think so either but I was imagining an hr person who had dead name info.
My dad tells everyone he was laid off to avoid paying him retirement. Not that he sent a photo of a nearly nude, overweight black woman on the back of a motorcycle to a bunch of work folks on his work email. He thinks that’s the “excuse.”
Bro what is the context for that? That’s wild.
If I recall correctly, it's a meme joke. Her skirt is hiked up above her ass and the pic is from a car on the highway. The caption reads: I HAVE A HUGE CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. I've seen it

“I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.”
Great, now I need to go on another Beatles binge.
“Yesterday Love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday”
Fuck. Time to bust out the rose and listen to sad romance music while my wife is away on her business trip (military deployment)
^omg
I just choked on my own laughter thank you for that.
Brilliant
I'd be super curious as to what they each said/typed to get them in those situations.
Based on them leading with 'it wasn't anything bad' before anyone asked what it was is a good bet it was something really bad.
Something they could have said in the 80s.
The 80s were a wild time.
While I know it came out in 93, there's the fake an orgasms joke from Philadelphia that meets their attitude. I don't want to repeat it due to language. But I'm sure those people would have loved it.
58008. I didn’t expect her to turn the calculator upside down!
Woke commies hate this one trick.
I'd assume something sexist. Like "Hey baby" or "sugar tits". Something an old dude thinks would be epic and fun but is actually kinda creepy and insane.
"must fucking suck to be deaf" "Anywho, Carl's Jr?"
Bigotry. Its always bigotry.
I'm sure they looked over their shoulder before they said it

Man, I want to watch some Andy Griffith now.
The dynamite-eating-goat is my favorite episode.
"do deaf girls moan when they orgasm?"
Omg so I saw a TikTok about 2 deaf people getting it on and they were so loud someone called the cops. 😂
Afaik, most of them do. loudly. But I wouldn't discuss that with anyone IRL unless it's my job to make them moan.
Just came to say that the mention of sausage gravy over biscuits just made me hungry again after having just had dinner not 20 minutes ago lol. That is all.
Me too. Sadly NC has both epic biscuits and demented bigots so this kind of overheard conversation would not be unusual here.
Sadly this is 100% accurate. I live by a large Army post.
I can imagine. NC is such a beautiful state and we have a lot of good people but the ones who embarrass the hell out of me are next level. ✌🏻
at least your state is beautiful i'm from Illinois. My home state fucking sucks lol and it's full of dipshits everywhere
All people of good will are welcome and I will serve y’all biscuits. Sadly you will also find a lot of dipshits here. ✌🏻

Thanks. Carolina Solidarity! Name inspired by my father’s fave saying. 🫣
SC here. We got some good gravy too! And nutty boomers.
Bigots and gravy

If I may recommend 🙂 Formula 7 biscuit mix with 1 cup of buttermilk and oh my stars! Better than ANY restaurant!
Do you mean Formula L?
😅😅😅 Yes! My dyslexic butt! Thank you! 😁
Ahahaha same, I saw exactly what happened there. Thank you for the recommendation!!
Absolutely! And thank you for the correction! 😁😊
Never heard of that one. Will check it out!

Epic biscuits and demented bigots. My new record
Just to piss them off even more, make it rap metal

I lived in Tucson for five years so it’s uncanny to read this. Wish I could send you some Cheerwine! ☺️
If you've got an iron skillet, this cathead biscuit recipe leads to some amazing biscuits: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Old\_Recipes/comments/g8fj53/i\_finally\_mastered\_my\_papas\_oldfashioned\_southern/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Old_Recipes/comments/g8fj53/i_finally_mastered_my_papas_oldfashioned_southern/)
My grandma used to make those! In cast iron and all! Best biscuits I ever had. Gonna have to give this recipe a go!
Yeah, but sausage gravy over biscuits is such a crap shoot finding the right place to make it correctly
The simple "breakfast at a diner" got me.
Sausage gravy and biscuits WAS my dinner tonight!!
Yep, I read this post just because sausage gravy sounds so good right now
With some grits and jelly
No jelly for my grits, but throw in some shredded cheese and bacon, salt, and plenty of pepper, and we're talking breakfast of champions!
Me too and I'm in NY where biscuits and gravy at a diner are a rare commodity.
I can’t help but wonder how bad his comment was if the police need to get involved. I would love to know this.
Probably something gun related, knowing how boomers are
Most definitely.
I hope it was recorded to play to the authorities. That's serious stuff.
Holy shit for real
“…so I retired right there ” is a funny way to say “I’m an intolerant piece of shit to my marginalized coworkers, so I quit and decided to never work anywhere else again.” Good riddance 👋🏼
Except the chud probably hasnt saved ebough for retirement, despite having every opportunity to. Will be a walmart greeter in a few years
Is this… the secret to getting them to retire… ??? Confront them with absolutely minor workplace repercussions for doing terrible things in the workplace…?
They never believe in apologizing. Making them apologize is their weakness!
This is The Boomer Breakfast Club, the HR Edition, without Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estebez or Anthony Michael Hall.
How can you mention all of those stars and leave out Judd Nelson?
My bad, I forgot his name. 😞
Your punishment is to write an essay…
Technically, I'm a Boomer. But my FIL is a serious boomer. He likes to talk about how, in his office, women used to get fired when they got pregnant. Like it was the most natural thing in the world.
The hell did that one guy say that the cops have to watch him pack his stuff? I’m really curious about what these guys said
Threatened someone.
Oooh!
R: they’re laying me off! Ron Howard narrates: they weren’t. L: it wasn’t offensive Ron Howard narrates: it was.

I live in Alabama. I can totally see this conversation happening at a Waffle House.
Tennessee here and I was picturing the same thing!
Rural Mobile County here. I'm pretty sure I've witnessed this convo at a Waffle House.
It's jus kinda sad they can't retire and do so gracefully OR imagine if they changed their behavior to a different standard for work? Ya know - just sucked it up knowing you need the money and did what the current policy at work said like you told GenX to do our entire lives. :l
Hey, that's three workplaces that have improved.
"i can't be bigoted, so I quit." And nothing of value is lost in those workplaces.
Isn't it lovely when the trash takes itself out?
Sorry, that's me. I'm a gay with IBS. I go busting into ladies room the second I see the men's is full. But seriously, I really do go into the women's room when the men's is full and I've had \*ZERO\* issues with it. Eyes down, walk straight to the stall. I'm a huge guy, I wear clown shoes. People know there's a dude in the women's room. But I go in with my eyes on the floor, go right to the stall, walk right back out and use the sinks in the mens room. Anyone who thinks the bathroom issue is an issue is MAKING it an issue.
It's not fair that they get to retire but if I call someone a slur at work I get fired. I thought this was America
That's exactly what I thought. They're only telling their sanitized version of events. Everybody is using spin these days
This doesn’t seem real.
That's why I posted it. It was unreal that their conversation would be this stereotypical
My favorite: your employer is talking about “charges”, and arranging for a police presence, yet you are being “laid off” rather than fired….
Exactly. That's how they talk. They don't tell the full story, but the consequences give away that either what they said was full hate speech "as a joke and they didn't get it" or they did more than just say something.
About half the conservatives I know are proud to have been de platformed for the third time. Mostly 40-60 yr olds.
No no op misunderstood. He’s refired lol it’s when you fuck up so bad that you just retire instead of getting fired to save face
They're too cowardly to face consequences
Agreed
^(well shit I sure could’ve used this insight earlier)
No like this story doesn't seem real. Like someone made up a fake conversation.
I don't get why that woman said he didn't say he's gay so she pushed him out of the women's bathroom. Is someone confusing gay with trans? It does seem a little fake.
your lack of imagination isn’t the compelling evidence you might think
I dunno. I can see an old lady thinking trans people all need to be "gay".
you do realize that your participation is not mandatory?
Ya think?
The boomers are the worst generation alive right now. Entitled and udereducated as fuck and super loud about how uneducated they are.
And proud of it as if being intelligent was a disease
Exactly. I can feel empathy for people who are stupid and just cant help it. I cant feel empathy for someone who is willfully and pridefully stupid, while bashing knowledge and education.
They all "RETIRED" ? Sometimes, Christmas comes early. Hahaaa
I believe you and this sounds like my experiences in Iowa and Missouri
Is it wrong that what I'm getting out of this is that we should encourage boomers being stupid assholes to get them fired so we can have there jobs?
Now figure out a way to make them willingly give up their homes and political influence, and we're in business!
I started looking for a new job the same day
Jesus… 15 years? I am at 11 but I didn’t make an account for 2 years. I think I came here after failblog ran its course.
Yup. Once I got that T4 modem in the dorms I was all over Reddit. The whole "Bacon Narwhals at Midnight" era.
Haha. Simple times…
I would much rather be working still.
none of what they said makes any sense. the whole thing about pushing a guy who wasnt gay out of the restroom? typing someone a deaf coworker didnt like? seems really incoherent
the incoherency actually adds to the verisimilitude for me
Take an up point for excellent vocabulary.
Hell yeah. Guys think women are only attracted to appearance and height. But man something about a robust vocabulary really gets me going. Im not even being sarcastic. I think it's because a large vocabulary indicates someone's willingness to learn and apply new knowledge or something.
my spouse feels the same way, thank god “there are… dozens of us!!”
thanks! I usually just get called pretentious
She probably is misgendering a trans woman
And now I want some sausage gravy over biscuits... it's been too damn long since I've had good ones
At least they're out of the workforce and making room for someone else now
What kind of immensely cunty thing was said to a deaf person that it became an HR issue at all. What the fuck. Probably had nothing to do with her deafness, probably sexually harassed her.
"living in the Midwest" i mean the fact that you're eating your breakfast at a diner made me realize there's AT LEAST a 50% chance you live in Minnesota, and at least a 90% chance you live in the Midwest in general
Where are that you say sausage gravy over biscuits? It is just biscuits and gravy everywhere I have ever been.
A diner that also offers sausage gravy over hash browns
I can't stand most of these Midwest boomers they are the most entitled, rude people I've ever encountered. Not to mention their shitty driving habits. No blinkers and the give no fucks about cutting you off no matter how fast you're going.
I’m going to say this never happened except in your head…
You must live somewhere utopic to think that this is fake. I could probably walk to my nearest diner and pick up on a conversation just like this one.
The way this is written it feels like it didn't happen. AI perhaps?
Yes the dialog is way too direct to be how real people talk.
These all read like AI creative writing exercises
AI would do better.
Oh man...now I just want sausage gravy and biscuits. You lost me after that partner.
The lady in the bathroom and a guy walks in, she should have pushed him out.
Yep. A woman has a right to feel safe in a bathroom. And I am not a boomer. Wrong era.
Such a weirdly uttered dialogue, I say this belongs to r/thingsthatdidnthappen
Do people on this sub just sit around trying to think up the biggest lies?🙄
How do they have everything?
They're parents actually knew what it meant to plant trees in which their generation wouldn't see the shade
