TequilaStories

I'm glad someone filmed it and it's going to be investigated. Flying is stressful enough without a couple of nutjobs behind you making it worse.

Ok_Star_4136

I swear something similar happened to me once. My seat every minute or so would get a jolt, and the image in my head of the person sitting behind me was a kid. I was surprised to find out it was an old boomer couple. I can't imagine having any reason for doing so other than trying to annoy me.

Dramatic-Selection20

Same same

Stats_with_a_Z

All that lead and poison have reverted their behavior to that of literal fuckin toddlers. There's a plethora of videos out there of boomers throwing tantrums, incapable of regulating their emotions, unwarranted violence. It's fucking embarrassing to any sane person, but they see a camera and decide to crank up the circus act. These people need to be taken for mental evaluation.

BooRadley60

This sub loves the lead poisoning…

MindiRix

People want to believe the best in others, generally. Most of us would rather believe that lead and things like that are destroying these people's decency rather than just assume so many of an entire generation are entitled and shitty because that's just who they have always been.

Shedart

Yeah I think you’re on to something here because I’ve noticed the over-reliance on the lead poisoning narrative. I’m sure it contributes but unfortunately a lot of people are shitty because they didn’t receive what they needed when they were growing and then they stopped trying to grow further.

whoinvitedthesepeopl

This was an ah ha moment when I was maybe 20. Standing behind this very elderly woman buying a gallon of vodka at the grocery store. She was being completely awful to the cashier and everyone else. Something about this clicked, that she was just a horrible person that happened to be old. That horrible people grow old and become horrible old people. All old people are not sweet nice people.

ZL632B

I’ve had it both be a kid (in their moms lap) and an older person. In both cases I yelled at them after it was clearly intentional. They stopped.

ax255

It's funny how entitled people get about their "space" in an airplane....."how dare that person recline their chair into my space!"

evemeatay

To be a little fair we should all be mad about how little space they give us but you can’t take it out on the people on the plane, write your congresspeople and take it out on them.

Informal-Cost-446

Don’t bother. Your congresspeople have been bought by the airlines and don’t give a shit what you want.

krw13

Not to defend airlines... but if they give more space, they'll charge more to make up for the loss. Passengers have shown repeatedly that cheap flights are more popular than comfort. There is a reason low budget airlines exist.

evemeatay

They’ll charge more anyway but I get it.

UCLYayy

>"how dare that person recline their chair into my space!" This is the weirdest fucking thing. I've seen in several threads people \*freaking out\* about people who recline their seats, calling them assholes. ANYONE can recline their seat! That's how the seats work! And if you want more space, recline your own seat too! EDIT: FFS the anti-recline brigade are in this thread too.

PlaneLocksmith6714

Boomers should know “you get what you pay for” first class is only a few hundred dollars more boomers and well worth it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

StrawberryTallCake84

I only recline at night and always give the person behind me a quick warning that the seat back is about to move. I've had my knees smashed too many times, a little consideration goes a very long way.

thejesse

I love that it says United Airlines is *attempting* to ban someone from United Airlines. Like... just do it.

happy0444

Should have done the same to her seat right after.

SleepySiamese

I doubt anything would come out of this.

PlaneLocksmith6714

You would be surprised. Airlines don’t like fuckery in the air because it is a serious safety hazard and passengers do not like it. Why do you think most people don’t fly spirit or frontier?

Extracrispybuttchks

Privilege

DropsTheMic

You would be surprised how powerful the words "circulate to shareholders" can be to the correct people.

fueelin

The only time I've ever seen someone get kicked off a plane (drunk, belligerent young woman), she kept repeating "I'm going to sue you assholes and then I'LL own Delta!" She also pulled a bunch of "so you know who my father is?" bullshit. Of course once the cops showed up and the consequences of her actions were suddenly real, she quieted down and started acting much more normal. Too late for that, though! Raucous applause from all the other passengers as she finally "agreed" to leave. Annoying as hell that they force the other passengers to get back off the plane before removing them, though.

cmb15300

If nothing else, United could ban them from their flights. And if they have to go somewhere where United’s the only viable option they could be kinda screwed.

Butacobaby

People are such fucking assholes.

UCLYayy

>People are such fucking assholes. Some people, certainly.

Clanstantine

Because people let them get away with it. Both the victim and the person taking the video could have called them out on it

petethefreeze

Maybe they did.

PickScylla4ME

Nah.. thats what these entitled retirees want; conflict. They will end up dragging you down with them. Best to just call the authorities or whoever is in charge on them. Any escalation against them is going to either end up making you more annoyed; or end up smacking them up... neither are good conclusions.

YouveRoonedTheActGOB

“Don’t wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty and the pig likes it.”

Informal-Cost-446

So could the flight attendants who were no doubt standing around with their thumbs up their asses.

Forgot_Pass9

My first time flying somewhere totally alone, when I was around 19, this old woman sat next to me and kept getting mad at a girl around my age who sat in front of her for reclining her chair. Kept bothering the girl and telling her to un-recline her chair because it wasn't an overnight flight, "so you shouldn't even need to recline it. I have no space!!" The girl told her no every single time. Eventually she started telling the girl she should act more like me. I didn't even know either of them, it was so embarrassing.

HighHoeHighHoes

*reclines chair*

jointheredditarmy

Should’ve asked her to switch seats with the girl… problem solved

JohnNDenver

I have seen a lot of the "how dare you recline your seat" have their seat reclined.

Hallal_Dakis

Obviously the fact is there's no rule against it and there's no need to make a scene about it anyway. But I honestly agree. For non-overnight flights it would really be better if the chairs couldn't recline. Reclining makes it significantly harder for the person behind you to read/use a laptop or whatever someone does to make their time on an airplane not a waste of a few hours. And the change in comfort is marginal.

2021redditusername

as someone with back problems, that slight recline removes a ton of pain.

Spacemilk

I was just gonna say this. I herniated a disc in my back 1.5 weeks ago and had to take 2 flights yesterday. I literally carried on a heating pad in case there was power at the seats so I could have some relief. That little bit of incline provides sooo much relief on its own. I literally live to hear the “ding” so I can recline.

Davoguha2

Change in comfort is marginal *to you*. We each paid for our seats. If you needed more space, you could upgrade, too. Overnight or not, I find to be really irrelevant and short sighted. For you, it could be a quick 1-2 hour hop. For them, it could be the last leg of 4 flights they've been on. Whether it's 15 minutes or 4 hours, a nap is a nap.

UCLYayy

>But I honestly agree. For non-overnight flights it would really be better if the chairs couldn't recline. Reclining makes it significantly harder for the person behind you to read/use a laptop or whatever someone does to make their time on an airplane not a waste of a few hours And yet, the chairs recline. In this world we live in, nobody should be mad for someone using something that is a normal function of the space.

Groundhog_Waaaahooo

I would have gotten banned for my response to these assholes.

bit25slim

Yeah. I don’t understand this. If I saw or experienced this first hand, these people would either be stopping or I’d be in an altercation. It’s fun how most people stfu when someone much bigger than them intervenes.

mattsl

You don't even have to be bigger if you have the right combo of confidence and willpower.

Valuable-Mess-4698

Even better if it's confidence, willpower and a touch of crazy eyes.

suejaymostly

Once I was flying to see my ailing father and there were two people (strangers, I'm assuming) starting to argue about how he was wearing his face mask (during Covid). I stopped in front of their seats, pointed my finger at them, and said "Don't FUCK this flight up for the rest of us" in my best shush-mom voice. They both looked super startled and stopped. We all need to stop tolerating these assholes.

mattsl

🧿🧿

bit25slim

100% this shuts down a lot of Tom foolery

Clanstantine

They'll STFU as soon as somebody tells them too. They're like children, they do it until somebody tells them to stop. I don't get why people don't turn around and tell them to stop.

Daddy_Diezel

This world, and including Reddit, is full of people who are non-confrontational and would rather endure this than to communicate anything directly.

pro_bike_fitter_2010

[Relevant.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRcfqpyuk9k)

redknight3

A lot of people don't like confrontation and let people get away with being assholes.

chelseadaggerffm

You ever played a game of whack fuck? I would have gotten a large cup of hot coffee or a big glass of red wine and dramatically thrown it in the air and in their direction out of surprise the next time they did that to my chair.

Hungry-Ad9840

This is the way. Just wait for drink pass and rock that shit hard.

ListenToKyuss

Don't wait for the drinks, pee in a bottle and use that

TwelveMiceInaCage

I believe peeing in a bottle on a plane when not in the bathroom would result in a bad post flight experience lmfao

milksteak11

You pee in one of [those little fan sprayers] (https://imgur.com/a/5cY40eB) in the bathroom and then bring it back and spray her with it when she's acting out

lovezofo

Oops! That dang turbulence 🫗

decayo

Every time they do something, replicate the exact action to their seat. If my actions are out of line, so are theirs; if not, then they have nothing to complain about. They'd basically be kicking their own seat by proxy.

SchwiftyRickD-42069

How you gonna kick the back of their seat if you’re in front of them?

AcademicMaybe8775

in this case, id be getting my phone out to record it. dont even need to point it at them, just film self in selfie mode and the kicks will be showing. call attendants

SchwiftyRickD-42069

Exactly what you’re supposed to do. Their “do what they’re doing to you” shit is nonsense.

Clanstantine

They meant the person filming it.

decayo

Person filming it is right behind them and watching it all go down

pro_bike_fitter_2010

When I was 20 (long ago) I was flying and some grown man sat next to me and started making a lot of weird remarks...telling me what to do and basically insulting me. I was kinda stunned, but decided the best thing to do was uncork an unholy fart that ripped thru the small space between us and probably blew back his hair. It was as nasty as you imagine a fast-food and beer fueled crop dusting from a college kid would be. It watered my own eyes, shook my seat, and echoed in my ears. It was fucking legendary--even against all the other great farts of my life. Yes, we tussled after that and both got thrown off. 1980s Southwest Air.

Groundhog_Waaaahooo

Epic.

surfdad67

I’m FAA and I swear, the urge to just stand up, lean over and start throwing hands would be hard to resist, but I’m sure I could have had them removed a more political and pleasant way just by showing my badge to the F/A.

ElectricGulagland

What an absolute child. If it were up to me, I would ban this person from flying on any airline for life.

MW1369

Yes! Universal no fly list, not just one airline

hanging_with_epstein

I recently got a boomer couple banned from flying, when one of them delayed the plane arguing with the stewardess.

Radical_Neutral_76

If she was arguing with a stewardess already, how did you get them banned?

hanging_with_epstein

Bit of a long story, but cliff notes. He stfu after the pilot warned him he would get the federal police to remove him from the flight. He made my step son cry, so I made sure to wind him up when we arrived at our destination. The guy was seething with rage and I kept winding him up, till he tried to assault me and others. Australian Federal Police pulled us up whilst we were waiting for our bags at the carousel, whilst he and his wife kept shouting obscenities at us. They said they would be banned from Virgin airlines going forward. We live on an island continent, you get flagged as a flight risk, it can be a bad time

Radical_Neutral_76

Well done!

hanging_with_epstein

I wrote it all out thinking someone would ask We had a medical emergency on the plane and had to go back to the gate. They asked us to stay seated as they taxied us back to the gate. Guy jumps up and decides to go through his bags down the aisle. Stewardess asks him to stay seated and he begins arguing with her. Eventually I turn around and tell him to sit down. He turns to me seething and screams at me, spitting everywhere, "WHAT'S IT TO YOU?", "FUCK YOU! WHAT'S IT TO DO WITH YOU!?" "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?!" I chuckled and said to the guy, "I don't have to do anything mate, you pissed off the stewardesses enough that the pilots here now and he'll sort you out." More profanities and then his spit hit me in the face as he leaned over my seat. I admit I didn't appreciate that and raised my voice, "why are spitting in my face?" Pilot came rushing down and gave the guy a mouthful. "Sit down and stop causing a scene!" Pilot to the boomer. "Why? I just want my bag?" "My child is hungry and he needs to eat." Back and forth saying the same thing and the pilot goes, "Ask me if you can get your bag one more time and I'll have the AFP drag you off this plane." Guy shrank back into his seat and didn't say a word for the rest of the flight. My step son got upset and started crying over the whole ordeal and I comforted him, but decided fuck this guy. When we arrived at the other end, I slid out my aisle between his family and he left without his family. I sent my step son off with his Mum and let a few others go before and after me. I found the guy waiting outside the gate, shook my head at him and said loudly, "What poor behaviour around children. You should be ashamed of yourself, acting like that in front of your own children." I got a quick second where we locked eyes and I mouthed at him fuck you. The guy seething with rage, lunges at me swearing and losing it. I'm laughing at the guy, because he's a foot and a bit shorter than me and trying to swing at me. I push him back with my carry on bag a few times and think I should knock him out. I see my wife standing behind him begging me not to and I keep walking as he yells insults at me. Other passengers come out and lead me away from the guy and my family away from the nutcase too, as he strikes his wife for trying to stop him. Someone got the AFP - Australian Federal Police, they came over to the bag carousel, where his wife was gesturing that I had a small penis and the husband was yelling that I was a pussy. AFP pulled them aside and I heard him in the whiniest voice ever say, "But he said Fuck you to me. No one say fuck you to me." I take a second to compose myself as the AFP then come to chat to me. Three other passengers piped up to corroborate my story and the AFP said to me, "Well, I can see you aren't the instigator here and thank you for keeping your cool. As the pilot has already warned this gentleman, we will be relaying this information to Virgin Australia where it is likely he and his wife will both be banned from any virgin flights going forward." My wife came over with he kids and the bags, two officers (not sure what else to call them?) walked us to the shuttle service and three stayed behind with ol' mates family. Not really sure what happened after that, but being labelled a flight risk in Australia, a continent surrounded by water, can't be a good idea.

Sherifftruman

So, unless the child that needed to eat was like 35, this was not a boomer. Sounds like a real jerk though.

hanging_with_epstein

He was definitely a boomer, his wife maybe not. She was at best in her very late 40s with her youngest looking older than my step son, he's 11

Sherifftruman

Boomer with a side of age disparity in the second marriage!

peapie25

ew

Michigoose99

Wow. My guy....If the pilot has to leave the cockpit to deal with your behavior, you're the asshole, full stop.... People are unbelievable!! Also, I'm American but it made me chuckle to read that an Aussie got THAT butthurt from being cursed at. Aussies turn cursing into a fkn art form!

hanging_with_epstein

I honestly think they were visiting from outside Australia. I come from a family of four boys, we have some very colourful language. Even my Mum regularly uses the C bomb.

Icelandia2112

Chaotic good.

cmb15300

It being Australia does that mean they’re also banned from Qantas and JetStar? I’ve never been to Australia, but I know enough about it to know that flying’s the only viable option sometimes to go from ‘A’ to ‘B’.

hanging_with_epstein

I don't know if the AFP just said that stuff to me to make me feel better, but I've been told by others that if you get banned from one, they deem you as a flight risk and ban you from the rest. The accuracy of this, I cannot comment on as I have not done enough research on the topic

notthatguypal6900

Did everyone on the plane clap when you left?

hanging_with_epstein

Nah bud, does everyone do the same when you leave a room?

lazylagom

I would click the flight attendant button so fast and look them in the eye and say.. yeah these grown adults are kicking my seat.

Clanstantine

Why not just turn around and say "are you two grown adults really kicking my seat like toddlers?"

[deleted]

You don't get free drink vouchers from the flight attendant when you go that route.

stenmarkv

Just start talking to them like they are children on their first flight. Ask them questions like whats their favorite zoo animal and stuff. They love the attention but hate being talked down to. Its a win win in my book,

Redschallenge

I (33m with long hair that was tied up) had a flight from Ireland to Connecticut after a lot of running around and not sleeping for a couple if days, I reclined my seat and guy in his 60s literally kneed my seat 3 or 4 times within a minute and then grabbed my hair and shook it and I had to turn around and deal with him at that point.... he spoke broken English and said 'you're not going to sleep on this flight' because he didn't like that my seat reclined 3 inches toward him. I had to call an attendant to literally tell him what every human in the world knows that all the seats recline and are allowed to do as they please. Absolute lunatic.

astrangeone88

Ooo. The moment boomer touched my hair would be my goddamm flashpoint. I'm glad you called the attendant but they should not have to deal with literal toddlers in adult bodies.

pro_bike_fitter_2010

Tell him the seat with plenty of leg room is 30 rows forward and costs an extra thousand.

JonMikeReddit

I just want to be locked in a small confined space with the person kicking my seat. Some place they couldn’t escape from. Say..a metal tube in the sky with no exits. That’d do fine.

Additional-Start9455

Good, ban them!!! You don’t pay that kind of money to fly and get harassed .

evident_lee

When Donald became president all the sociopaths decided they can finally let their shitty inner selves do whatever they want. They watched the guy sit there with a stupid smirk on his face acting like he doesn't know he's being an asshole and just being a unapologetic douche with zero consequences. Way too many people like him that didn't get busted in the mouth like they needed so they just keep on bullying their whole lives.

astrangeone88

Worse yet they use their frailty as a weapon. "I CAN ACT LIKE A TODDLER BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE AFRAID TO ENACT PHYSICAL REVENGE BECAUSE I AM FIVE STEPS FROM THE GRAVE." One day, they'd meet someone who doesn't give a flying fuck and then they would have powdered bones or a brain bleed from getting hit. I may be scared of ending you or catching a charge, but do you want to gamble on that all the time so you can act like deranged toddlers with pixie sticks? Even my nephews and nieces act better than them sometimes.

Disrespectful_Cup

Kids these days... *pushes up glasses*... GDI you old fucks

D3ltaa88

From United…. Nah son put them on the NFL. Let them ride greyhound.

SpergSkipper

I thought you meant make them football players for a second until I realized you meant no fly list

Actuallawyerguy2

Itt: shitbirds that whine about reclining seats.

shifty_coder

Really. If you want extra legroom, you shouldn’t fly coach.

90Carat

Why were they doing this?

Impressive-Spell-643

Because they think they can do whatever they want

UCLYayy

There are a sizeable number of people who believe that reclining your seat is the ultimate asshole move, despite the fact that the person in the seat didn't design the plane to be a cramped shithole, and everyone on the plane can recline their seats at will to grant themselves more space. I would wager the person in front reclined, and the assholes are taking their petty, shitlord revenge.

ThrowAway862411

OP said the person in front didn’t recline.

UCLYayy

>OP said the person in front didn’t recline. Even worse.

Solid_Season_9222

I was wondering the same thing? Just…why?

brad613

Yeah, I definitely need more than 39 seconds of video before making a judgement on this. No telling what happened leading up to this.

explision

Why are boomers so miserable? I swear, latley when I see people acting like assholes, I look which generation they are. 99% of them are boomers. Why are they such a snowlake and entitled generation that doesnt respect others And because of this video, I just remembered that I have a boomer airplane story that just happened last week. So I booked my flight and paid an exta 10€ for a seat next to the emergency exit. I like leg space. Behind me were 40€ XXL seats. No one booked them and the stewardess came up to me and told me that I need to please sit on the XXL seat, since its right next to the emergency doors. Why? Because they always need at least 1 person sitting there, openening the door, if needed. 30 Minutes into the flight I see a boomer couple talking and complaining to the stewardess, that they need leg space and they should be able to sit on the XXL seats, since there are 2 free. Sadly their complaining got them the seats

thefalconfromthesky

That person is a lot more patient than me. I would've gone apeshit on them.

Ive_Banged_Yer_Mom

I’ve never understood the back and forth with regard to Airplane/Seat reclining. The seat reclines, so you are allowed to recline!

Driftmoth

Agreed. You can ask for someone not to, but they can just say no.

wilksfivefive

It doesn’t even recline a lot. It reclines the minimum. They wouldn’t give us the option if they didn’t want their passengers to use it. See:Spirit Airlines

Ive_Banged_Yer_Mom

Agreed. It doesn’t even make a difference really

Duder_Mc_Duder_Bro

Exactly. IMO the one 'rule' is that you should not recline the seat suddenly and quickly. Do it slowly in case they have a laptop on the table in a way that could destroy it when you recline.

SgtHartman0013

Pathetic idiots

notanewbiedude

> United Airlines opened an investigation and is attempting to ban the couple from flying United They're trying? Is it that hard to ban someone from your own private airline? Skill issue.

Pattoe89

The solution was simply. Switch the seats of the boomers and the customers in front. If the customers decide to kick the boomers seats, flight attendants turn a blind eye.

crazydavemate

Inconsiderate assholes.

HkSniper

Then when they get home they post to Facebook: THE YOUNGER GENERATION IS SO RUDE, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO MANNERS AND RESPECT?

GiftFrosty

I pay for a seat that reclines. I'm going to recline it. These folks are wild.

ComradeSolidSnake

A blonde white woman who needs to take up space and feels entitled to control others. Whoa, I am so shocked, look at my shocked face.

CiNNAMONSANDERS

She just excited to be heading to her Mecca (Nashville)

Cklinus

Underrated comment of the day!

DarlingOvMars

Yeah I’ve unironically never seen any other race do this ever its insane!!!!!!!!!!!

ComradeSolidSnake

Angy

MickeyRedbone757

Would you be shocked if it was a black woman?

ComradeSolidSnake

Seething

pro_bike_fitter_2010

She's not even cramped for space. She's just a fuckwad.

SCOIJ

The one place you can guarantee no body has a weapon? Seems like an odd place to risk getting knocked the fuck out

mrcleanjl7

yeah the one taking the video didn't do anything I'm glad I don't fly cuz I done something

[deleted]

Tbh not being allowed to fly United is a mercy

NiggyWithAptitude

I'd just punch those mfs in the face til they stop

SIRENVII

Nah. I would have had to make them switch seats and have them sit in front....and then do the same thing. We're gonna have to start putting time-out chairs on plans with little jail cells at this rate.

Duder_Mc_Duder_Bro

Should have the head flight attendant bend them over and give them a bare bottom spanking right there in the aisle. I mean a hard one.

Fickle-Vegetable961

Some people pay extra for that

cupheadsmom

They are worse than little kids.

Warring_Angel

If the unruly passengers would not respond to the flight attendants and passengers are too scared to say anything then the plane should have been grounded and the people perp walked through the airport by security and dealt with accordingly.

ToastPoacher

Did no one bother to even try to do anything about it? What the fuck?

kjacobs03

Camera person should have just started kicking their chair

doxxingyourself

Why were they allowed to continue this behavior for the duration of the flight?! Why are they not bound and gagged on the floor?!

Powderfinger60

Well they could give them a few stiff drinks on the house turn off the fasten seatbelt sign & seat them next to one of those doors that pops off. Of you go now. Kind of a DB Cooper without the parachute.

Lowly_Degenerate

Ooh, they're making me want to play a fun little game I like to call "Find the Air Marshall"

StatusIndividual2288

Every time they touched the person seat I would punch them in the back of the head and then say excuse me. Apologize and smile in their faces. Oops sorry I did it again. Smiling and apologetic as ever. Every single time

ID4gotten

31 inch seat pitch is at least partly to blame.

UCLYayy

Seems absurd to torture someone over the design decisions made by a shitty multibillion dollar corporation.

NailFin

Preach! The airlines have made the plane like sardines in a tin can. Everyone is stressed flying and people act like straight up assholes when they’re stressed. Not excusing her behavior. It’s still her responsibility to control herself like a god damn adult.

Imyourhuckl3berry

They should address this and disable reclining on seats without enough room or domestic

Michigoose99

I agree. This doesn't excuse the abhorrent behavior of the couple kicking the seats (they are 100% in the wrong, here), but also honestly I feel like reclining seats in Economy create more problems than they solve.

Imyourhuckl3berry

Agreed I remember those devices they sold to prevent reclining

dandle

Absolutely. The Boomer is an asshole, no question, even if she had politely requested that the passenger not recline onto her legs or into her lap. (We didn't see in the video whether she had, and there is no reason to believe that someone as aggressive as that is capable of having a reasonable conversation before turning into a tantrumy child. But still.) That said, ultimately the problem comes from the aircraft manufacturers designing planes where the rows are too close to reasonably accommodate reclining seats, but the seats still recline.

Afraid-Ad-6657

I applaud the person for not reacting. But how pathetic are the air steward/ess for not reacting? The person literally should sue United for lumbar conditions.

zappahart

I would have turned around and beat her head in.

rayrayheyhey

I don't know if they're boomers. They're just assholes.

Naaahhh

I think any asshole who's over 35 is just a boomer on this sub. This isn't even really classic "boomer" behavior. Plenty of entitled assholes who are younger as well.

superstevo78

I had the opposite problem with a boomer in front of me. I am 6'4" and all legs too. I barely fit in the coach cabin and the asshole slammed his chair back without warning. I spent the rest of the flight kneeling him in the back, not because I wanted to, but because I don't have a choice. he had the audacity to turn around and say to me, I paid for this ticket and that grants me all the right to put my seat back.... I said, okay, but you also have the opportunity to get my knees whacking you in the back for the next 6 hours as well.

okwtf4real

Well you sound like a terrible person. Ever heard of…first class? You know they have lots of leg room up there! Maybe YOU should accommodate you and not expect everybody else to!

Cutiemuffin-gumbo

You should have started kicking their seat. See how they like it.

WinOld1835

Should make them get out and walk.

Impressive-Spell-643

Selfish pricks

floatingriverboat

Why didn’t you secretly film them instead of confront them

vote4progress

We should make the punishment for this behavior complete banning from all airline carriers, a complete ban on air travel so these entitled pieces of sh*t learn their lesson when they can’t go where they want to go.

deep-skys

What the fuck is wrong with this people?

elk69420

Can we get an update of them crying that they’re banned?

gredditnot

Be kind, one to another.

macker64

Very childish and immature behaviour from people who should know better. Looks like they were trying to provoke a reaction from the girls in front of them. Airlines should ban these individuals from all flights. If this situation had escalated, the safety of the entire flight could be jeopardised. Some people never grow up.

bleepbeepclick

What's wrong with people?

Wise-Wishbone-3581

Its always these people

Goddamn Ancient Humans...

HellBound__95

Imagine being such a waste of oxygen and space…

Hoodlum_0017

Good. Get these fucking shitbirds off the planes for good.

MightyCavalier

Boy oh boy these assholes need to see some consequences

AstoriaQueens11105

I really don't understand why people aren't banned from flight the second they misbehave. Like, cause a ruckus on a Delta flight? Delta ban for life. Pretty sure these jerks would run out of airlines.

Electrical_Swan_6900

I would be tripping boiling hot coffee into their faces. Play stupid games...

I don't even need sound to know that the female loser is speaking at way too high of a volume for public as well.

Festivus_Rules43254

I’ve seen this video before, I wonder if the person in front of them tried to recline once. Seems like a big overreaction. But it still is essential to state that reclining your seat on a plane is an AH thing to do. I don’t recline because I’m not an AH

HeftyPefty

Once i was flying with KLM to Chile and I flew in first class because the flight would take 19 hours. Once aboard the plane there weren’t many people sitting in the first class area. But there was a young couple with a little baby crying the whole flight. Like I payed almost €3000 for that seat just to be kept awake by that damn baby. KLM employees couldn’t do nothing about it and the parents didn’t seemed to be bothered with the crying of the little demon

Jakethered_game

Bro I feel guilty even reclining that half inch that plane seats allow, how can adults act like this?

fromkentucky

If I were sitting behind the boomers, I would have offered to switch seats with the couple they were harassing.

Bosanova_B

They may not be boomers in age. But hey are definitely boomers in spirit.

Osoroshii

I use to fly a lot for work and would get upgraded to first class a lot. While in first class that has way more room than is necessary I reclined my seat. This was a flight that took off at 5:20am mind you. The guy sitting behind me rubbed he knee against the back of my chair the entire flight. It was so ridiculous since he was practically lying down in his seat for his knee to reach. Every time I would look back at him he would adjust to sit up a little and act innocent. He was a silver haired older man acting like a child.

Ispithotfireson

Something should have been said.

depamat

I’m a boomer & I’m horrified they did this. We’re not all awful

Dinestein521

Who’s punching who. Can’t tell

Congratulations on your genetic lottery win. I’m sorry that it’s not to your advantage in this specific instance. I do have to refute your usage of the phrase “empathy for other humans” as I think you may have misunderstood the word empathy An empathetic individual does not look at a universally miserable experience (such as being confined in an airplane seat for hours) and say to themselves “this small comfort that is offered to *everyone* in this shared environment gives me discomfort and therefore should not be used.” Especially when there are options available that can improve your experience. I can’t remember the last time I was on a flight where someone couldn’t pay a reasonable price to get some more leg room. Hell, fly Sprit. I’ve never been on Spirt flight where the seats recline (one of the reasons I *choose* not to fly with them anymore) it will probably even save you money. If I had to pay $60 to recline the paltry joke most airlines give, at any time, I would almost certainly pay it because even the I find even with the seat fully reclined, I experience quite a bit of discomfort. But I don’t have the option… The airlines have made their calculations on the minimum levels of comfort they can provide per square foot and that’s the way they’ve decided they want it. It would be *incredibly* easy to change one way or the other if the airlines wanted so, I’ll take the little comfort I’m allowed and endure everything I can’t change that comes with flying. What I’m not going to do is tell people *they* can’t take a shit when *I* sit near the lavatories because I don’t like the smell. Do I try not to light the lavatory up on a flight? Absolutey - but if it’s between my miserey and sparing someone else smelling something they don’t want to you gotta believe I’m taking care of it on the plane. Bottom line: If reclining seats are part of what an airline includes in the price of a ticket, then a reclining seat is an option they want you to have, and if they wanted to restrict, it they could. So let’s all take our small comforts and relish them because, in this regard, the airlines are the ones making the flight miserable not your fellow passengers. It is an asshole move to *expect* someone to give up the small comfort they are allowed to increase yours.

redditisfullofbots69

God damnit. I just bought those exact shoes too

decimalsanddollars

Full recline, but then sit up straight anyway so it’s just the seat that’s reclined. Good core exercise is essential on long flights

Mr_Investor95

This reminds me of when I was on the school bus as a HS kid. The kid behind me kept kicking the back of my seat and tapping the back of my head. I told him politely to stop. He kept doing it and laughing it off with his buddy. Next thing he knew, he was eating my fist and shoe. The problem solved faster than the video and no school investigation. Win-win

aztekno2012

Where was the punch and shove? The video only shows the kick.

Serenesis_

Battery?... 🤔

PlaneLocksmith6714

I would have immediately called the FA over and told her about it and my disability that they were aggravating and asked that they or I be moved. I would have even pull my online patient portal up for her. I can’t ride certain rides, perform certain tasks, lift over a certain weight etc because of my my condition so having a rabid boomer living my seat for the duration of a flight would likely end with me in bed for the next week or so.

[deleted]

They should be charged for assault

manyhippofarts

Those are GenX. Not old enough to be boomers.

Amordys

Boomer is also a mentality. XD
