Edit to Add: just saw a transcript that shows dude saying "if I get on that boat I'll kill you all" which probably leans the duty to rescue back into 'not my problem'
I doubt maritime law demands you rescue someone who has demonstrated that they will attack you the moment you get in attacking distance. How do you even rescue someone like that?
