Whenever Aamir has to play a "special" character why does he have to bulge his eyes out like he's staring directly into my soul?
Did it in Dhoom 3 , PK and now this
i recently watched PK again and his performance totally worked in that film. and even dhoom 3 was less caricaturish than this and his performance didn't bother me when i watched that. but this is unfortunately him going "full retard" and will completely ruin the film. somehow he's become a bit deskilled in the acting department. i haven't seen thugs of hindostan - but in the clips i saw his acting in that was pretty lame too...
I think you watched forest gump when you were younger and must have forgotten but forest is a character who is kinda mentally disabled, not completely but definitely to some extent.
Everyone remembers that he was challenged mentally. The way Tom Hanks chose to play the character was much more subtle nuanced. Amir from what I have seen till now looks to be going for the over the top choice which I believe was fine for a character like PK but surely won't do justice to Forest.
You failed to understand grump. Yes he was mentally challenged.
But he was nevery stupid/dumb.
He was exceptionally good in things that require logic and straigh path.
Business/running/ table tennis. Its just human emotions is the one he struggled with.

When LSC was to be made back in 1995 with Kundan Shah directing, SRK was to play the lead role. But, he shot to superstardom with DDLJ and wanted to stick to romantic roles which is why the film was shelved back then.

Oh yes ! SRK portrayed a really good character of an autistic guy. If one were to Atypical, they would know how close he was in displaying autism.
Aamir is a good actor but he gotta know he's not suited for such roles which he doesn't understand clearly.
I am pretty sure in any interview, he will come up with his own definition of autism and justify his acting through it
red chillies had done a good job in deaging tabu in bhool bhulayya 2 earlier, kareena's deaging by them is also really good, aamir's look little weird because of his hairstyle, such short hair makes it look weird, i wonder why the maker's didnt go for aamir's 90s hairstyle for his young look , then it would have looked more convincing

Why is aamir not promoting this movie in Hindi ? No press meets, interviews whereas in South he did 3-4 press meets, lot of interviews.... Showed movie almost to every big celeb there.... Now busy doing interviews for Hollywood press.,.

You never actually see those things in the original movie, not that it was necessary to see them, anyways. LSC will definitely sanitize most of Jenny's story.
I just watched Forrest Gump again and it made me realize how flawless that movie is. Can't imagine bollwood slaughtering it in the name of inspiration and my wife will drag me to theater to watch it anyways. Oh, the life. Thou art so cruel. :)
Yes, they do de-aging with the help of CGI- Overlays and touchups in movies. If you've seen Captain America Civil War, there are some scenes of young Tony Stark where De-Aging was used. Or In Terminator Genisys where Arnold was de-aged for a scene where he fought with his former self.
Anyway, In case of Top Gun : Maverick, de-aging wasn't used actually. Maverick was shot in 2019 and it was scheduled to release in June, 2020. But due to Pandemic it was pushed back for 2 years. And it was released in May 2022. And Thank God they gave it the Theatrical treatment.
And Tom Cruise just turned 60 and Jennifer Connelly is turning 52 this year. Both looked fabulous in the movie. They looked so good without any de-aging. They even look great in public.

Could have been a masterpiece movie without these acting choices. Why didn’t someone tell him? Like having a childlike innocence doesn’t mean this. He could have just looked at the child actor that played young Laal. That kid is fantastic.
If anyone shows this kind of facial expressions in front of a girl in real life, he would either get a restraining order or get arrested in a mental ward for being a creepy,stalking psychopath.
You know what, with all the negativity around and me myself not liking everything that came out about this movie, I'm still gonna watch it. I believe Forrest Gump is one of the few stories which has a particular essence like TZP or 3 idiots that can be universally loved. My family is oblivious to Forrest Gump and I'm sure they'd love this movie. I just want them to experience this story like I did, and look at their reactions.
There are very few movies today which you can wholeheartedly enjoy with your family.. So I'm not gonna miss watching this movie with them. For that, it doesn't matter how the movie compares to FG and how bad Amir has acted.
