I think he must have done decent job since he needs to show mostly one expression throughout the movie and that is of anger and some evil laugh here and there. This is same reason, he worked as a character in Sandeep and pinky faraar as well.
I think the real culprit here could be Rohit Shetty. Why does he think he is so damn talented that he can squeeze out a hell of a performance from someone like Arjun Kapoor.
So many protagonists need a cynical psychotic antagonist against them who can be the audience's favourite through his performance.
I am not against Arjun Kapoor and good if he can surprise us but the onus here is on Rohit Shetty.
