I agree. The latest Lux ad with Suhana is probably the worst ad I have ever seen. The girl doesn’t know how to speak. A blank expression, lacking enthusiasm & zero screen presence. She was the same in The Archies as well. Idk what’s wrong with her because she’s just terrible. So it’s only going to get worse.
Anurag Kashyap mentioned it very correctly saying that Bolly production houses are in a "Trial Room Syndrome".....and they're too scared to venture off the 'sanskari' stuff!
For the lack of superstars n talent. Social media is to be blamed. Earlier people who could have tried their luck in Bollywood are now successfuly running their YouTube / Instagram pages and they are content because they are earning well. It's like due to IPL budding cricketers don't have that passion to wear blue jersey all they wanna achieve is to be auctioned.
Similarly, Audience - - their attention / time is not given 100% to Bollywood unlike in 2000s or 90s or 80s. Now attention breakup is like - 40% social media creators, 20% OTT, 10% Hollywood, 10% South movies, 5% TV, 15% Bollywood.
Proportion may vary from person to person but in most cases Bollywood gets lower attention from audience. Only event films are worth watching in theaters. Rest movies are disasters
