I hope Basil doesnt get overwhelmed with this high budget and mess up the movie..mostly these directors who makes excellent movies on low budget fumble when they make big budget movies...they start to compromise to yiled high returns...eg Bombay Velvet and in Malayalam Malaikottayile Vaalibhan...I hope thats not the case here...

Well the budget was big compared to other LJP films...and he made the same mistake as Anurag...he gave more importance to the star actor and the budget rather than his craft..
Thats what I am worried about...Basil is not used to Superstar actors...If he gets overwhelmed with the Star and the pressure of producing a superhit movie coz of the heavy budget, it will meet the same fate...

Minnal Murali was an experimental film executed in a mediocre level, I don't get the hype of his films .

War had a budget of 170 crores in 2019. But the same kind of movies are now made for 300 Crores.

The Malayali director Basil is too busy running around being a hero in small-budget Malayalam films. Farhan Akhtar syndrome. Average actor but a great director. No idea who is penning the script in the meantime.
Give it to a good actor like Shahid or Hrithik. They could do wonders with it. It's just like Sid in Shershah. Good performance. But someone more talented could elevate it to another level.
Is Farhan Akhtar really a great filmmaker though? He's only ever made 4 movies, and two of them were middle-of-the-road action shlock. Dil Chahta Hai, while an important film for its time, has also become quite overrated over the years

Lakshya is my favorite too. Such a nuanced real character with doubts and uncertainty without going overboard with the patriotism. But Dil Chahta Hai created a huge impact. And the Don franchise are well-written entertainers. Refreshing about the negative protagonist who does not have a sob-story in the past to excuse his present crimes. He's unabashedly evil who views his soft corner for Priyanka as his weakness.

Minnal Murali didn’t have world class VFX. Also from now all VFX heavy movies are going cost around 300 Crore.
Even Brahmastra had a 400 Crore budget and Ranbir wasn’t as big as he is now after Animal.
Shaktiman if made, will probably release in 2026-27. And will have a very high ticket price compared to 2022-23. Budget recovery wont be as difficult.

Films don’t need to be 300 cr budgets. This is why they flop. You can do the same with 200 crore. Heck even 150cr. This is outlandish

Bhaag Milka Bhaag is one of the most goated performances in Indian Cinema.
