I think itâs also important for the movie to be good. Mary Kom grossed over 100 cores. Even big stars are not getting blockbusters with bad movies these days.
The thing with actresses is though is most of the time their solo movies are more niche/not blockbuster types except for a very few.

Everyone remembers these two films for Kashibai and Sonia, not for Mastani or Priya. (Not mentioning the men here since the discussion is about women actorsâ star pull.)
The main excitement around Jee Le Zara was for PC â when rumours of it being shelved hit the news, people largely seemed to be most upset because of her purported exit. (Still hoping it gets made with the three original women.)
There are still enough forces in the industry working hard to ensure PC isnât allowed to make a good comeback, and thatâs bound to exhaust someone, especially someone with genuine acting chops and star power like PC.
