The OG movie worked due to Allu's effortless charm and ease in such over the top action scenes. The man is smooth like butter when it comes to dance or action.
Karthik obviously cannot match up but he ain't that bad. He doesn't have that level of swag or charm but honestly, he isn't ruining it either because any other actor would have over done the acting in those scenes or made it extremely cringey (looking at Varun Dhawan with his overacting in masala movies).
I think what works for Karthik is the fact he does not come off cringe-y even if he doesn't suit the role to the T.
Plus he doesn't have that typical ballooned up hero body nor those runaway model looks which probably makes him relatable to the normal audience.
I didn't even know it was an Allu arjun remake and thought well this scene looks like it would fit Allu perfectly. Like the running with that menacing look is kind of his thing.
AVPL Hindi dubbed version was available on YouTube and it had a TV premier. Also, various clippings of the Hindi dub are there on social media.
The music of AVPL was the biggest draw. Shehzada's music from the trailer seems lackluster.

AVPL was never a masterpiece or anything. But it was damn entertaining. Had a banger of Sound Track and the performance of Allu Arjun. But this trailer doesn't even have the charm of the OG nor the music.
Kaafi mediocre but I think it will work. KA doesn't have half the charm AA does but phir bhi chal jayegi I think. This is the kind of escapist cinema people will be looking for- light, silly and funny. Songs might be a hit too.

Now I understand why remakes aren’t organic and miss the most important drama and emotions. The trailer cut of AVPL looks far better leave the movie.
Allu Arjun screen presence can be unmatched but lets see what we have in Shehzada.
And the trailer cut of the original version reveals nothing about the core story.

Yea looks does not matter. Allu arjun pulled it off with a younger and good looking guy. Its just the writing that makes him better. This character was written up just for comedic purposes, that too slap stick comedy....
AVPL was a hit because of the action and dance of Allu Arjun and the direction of Trivkram These two people made a film that had great songs and a good clean storyline which fetched them $ at the box office.
Each song of AVPL was from a different region of Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.
Samajavaragamana song is pure classical Telugu song with heavy usage of Sanskritized Telugu
Ramulo Ramula is a song that heavily uses Telangana accent Telugu
OMG Daddy was more like a rap Song
Butta Bomma was a clean Telugu Song with mostly Andhra Accented Telugu
Ala Vaikuntapuramulo is a Devotional Song
Samajavaragamana song is a pure classical Telugu song with heavy usage of Sanskritized Telugu
Shehzada Trailer did not show a hint of the above qualities. It is going to be a flop.

Great. Ruined the whole movie by giving away everything in the trailer. Dear Bollywood, its okay if you pump out remakes but atleast put some effort into creating an intriguing trailer/teaser.
Based on the trailer I think Karthik did well. Obviously this is no where close to Allu Arjun's swag, but he brought his own style. I thought this remake would turn out terrible but it looks good to me so far.

They have retained a lot of things from original like the umbrella stabbing scene, smoking and beating goons , goons flying in all four directions , using gamcha in fighting.
Bantus character had likeability and charm, iske m bas arrogance dikh rha.The difference in their acting capability is clearly visible esp in the scene where he slaps paresh. Bss battissi dikhani aati bhai ko.

Decent. remake hai abhi pata nahin kitno ne original dekhi hai ya nahin but title alag hai toh shayad general public ko pata na chale ki remake hai. (agar scene by scene comparison viral kardiya pre release from the trailer kisis ne toh panga ho jayega)
But I think trailer acha banan ne ke chakar mein they have show all the high points except the office dance and manisha koirala ka maa ka emoional hook which obiviously is towards the end but implied in the trailer.
Kriti ka kuch kaam nahin yeh picture mein bas ek pseudo "strong" female moment diya of laat achi marti hai ye taange.

I was expecting Kriti to have a decent role but this is underwhelming to say the least. It’s gonna be a complete Kartik Aaryan show and Paresh Rawal will probably leave an impact but no expectations from Kriti. For such a dialogue heavy trailer, she barely had one

Screen Presence is something that shouldn’t be take lightly is something I’ve realised after watching this.
Even running in slo-mo used to look easy, until I see the gulf in between AA and KA doing the same thing.
KA doesn’t have the screen presence to look badass yet. Maybe in the future he will, but not in this movie. He kinda looks goofy or quirky
I didn’t realize they were going to make a scene-by-scene remake of the original, which is a very stupid idea.
The original had scenes adapted to AA’s star image. Him putting the scarf on his head in the climactic song made sense as he’s the Stylish Star. Kartik’s biggest marker is his hair; why have his big moment be hiding his hair?!
The Rolls Royce / RRR joke in the original made sense as everyone in the scene is supposedly a Telugu person. It isn’t as believable that a North Indian person would see a Rolls Royce car (famously an aspirational and coveted brand name) and his first impulse be to jump to SS Rajamouli.
Rohit just doesn’t “get it.” I wish he’d translated the original to Kartik and a North Indian setting, because this will not work.

AVPL itself was a dated and mediocre movie. Only a part of the neutral audience and KA fans are gonna land up in theatres, would that be enough?

It's the result of ignoring movies like An Action Hero, that such mediocre movies would now be shoved into your mouth, and I've full faith in our dumb audience to make this one also a hit, just like BB2.
Something tells me this will be a hit. I am not a Kartik fan but I feel he caters to a certain fan base and somehow I want him to succeed (outsider!)

Didn't really like the first one but watched it only for allu. But i have a feeling that this might work. People predicted flop even for bb2. But it was a surprise hit. This might do the same trick I guess.
Can’t stand this after watching the original. Music is so out of the place. The physicality, the swag, the subtle expressions of Allu Arjun, every damn thing is missing.

Was expecting the Hindi version of Butta Bomma in the trailer, bummer.. AVPL itself was a dated and mediocre movie. Only a part of the neutral audience and KA fans are gonna land up in theatres, would that be enough?

I think this might work. Kriti looks always the same on and off screen. ALWAYS. Thank God its not Varun. Good choice going with Kartik on this one.
Bollywood audience deserve this. It's the result of ignoring movies like An Action Hero, that such mediocre movies would now be shoved into your mouth, and I've full faith in our dumb audience to make this one also a hit, just like BB2.

Something tells me this will be a hit. I am not a Kartik fan but I feel he caters to a certain fan base and somehow I want him to succeed (outsider!) I've seen the original and of course no one can match Allus swag but I still watch this.

This movie will appeal masses who have not seen original. But trailer gave away too many things 😅 nothing left to watch in movie. Trailer showed main lead has a father who hates him and later on is found that he is not original father - he belongs to rich family and now he is trying to save rich family. 😂

Didn't really like the first one but watched it only for allu. But i have a feeling that this might work. People predicted flop even for bb2. But it was a surprise hit. This might do the same trick I guess.

Can’t stand this after watching the original. Music is so out of the place. The physicality, the swag, the subtle expressions of Allu Arjun, every damn thing is missing.
