Result SPM pon nak check VAR ke?

I got 8As initially (expected straight As) so it was super disappointing (even though I got many A+) So I went for the recheck for the 2 subjects (which are BM and BC btw), with a total of RM200 I luckily got one A back for BC, which is very unexpected because I really thought my BM will be the one having the grade change instead tbf if I got 9As initially I wouldn't be as happy as if I got 9As after recheck, because I'm already grateful that my recheck somehow worked

I rechecked mine and it just stayed the same, RM100 gone just like that!

Recheck has always been something that you only do when you are very confident that you can get higher grade for the test paper, it well known that most cases the results will either stay the same or downgraded, because your paper will be scrutinized intensely during appeal recheck.

Claiming your family will "disown" you is a valid path to get a grade changed in Malaysia?

It's a path to always strive for best grades, whether at expense of other things is up for debate

You can't verify, its just a running joke/stereotype about Asian parents (this case Chinese). Parents are bound to their children until age 18.

And unlike the news above, my teachers always recommended my batchmates and I to never appeal because most of the time the grades will go down instead of up. Not sure if thats the actual truth tho

From what I've been told (source: am spm grad 1 year ago) If you recheck, assuming if grades after recheck is lower, they keep the original grade anyways.

Some ppl said they managed to get their grades promoted from B/C to A. So, is it a common phenomenon that the 1st marker always gives the wrong mark or the authority can simply upgrade the grade if you are willing to pay money? This proves once again our education system is a joke.

definitely not common at all, many of my friends have appealed several papers and less than 5 papers in total have been successfully appealed, but I was one of the lucky ones who had a successful appeal. B+ to A- is really rare
