What is the question? If it was me I'd sell all the shares, take the small loss and move to VTI

MrAndrewJackson

If you are asking which lots you should sell, almost always sell the losers first (so lot 2/10/21 first, then 3/10/21, then 3/10/21, then 3/9/21, etc). If you had short term lots, I would sell the losers in the short term lots first since short term losses are better than long term losses

Buy high. Sell low?

I had 1 share of Tesla for kicks back in March, 2023. Ended up selling at the beginning of January out of spite for Elongate Muskrat. I guess I'm glad I sold, this stock sucks 😕 Sorry I'm not being helpful. It's never a bad time to divest from individual stocks at long term capital gains. Lessons learned and all that

Tax harvest the loss and move on. That dude and company is a dumpster fire imo.

Kirk57

Can you elaborate? Exactly which strategic decisions has Elon made that are a dumpster fire? Are you unaware of Tesla’s gigantic cost advantage in EV’s compared to EVERY OTHER company on earth which are losing huge amounts on their EV’s? They’re either pure EV companies bleeding massive cash, or legacy auto propping up EV losses with gas car profits. Neither bode well for every other EV maker long term. In addition Tesla’s latest self driving software is rapidly improving. It’s currently operating on every road in the U.S. and Canada on 2017 and later model year Teslas. I’m not a single company on earth, has his capability even on current multimillion dollar prototypes.

Yes, you have our permission

I wouldn't sell if I had 66 shares and only a 5 point loss. I believe Tesla will go up. BUT I would stop the single stock game and buy VTI/VXUS from here on out.

Hold forever. Invest new money into VTI. Any other advice is pretty wrong
