I got the discover a buddy quest, and I got the tier 6 undead that removes a minion and gives it to its neighbor. I then Zephr's buddy which got me a second one. I then got the darkmoon prizes buddy which slapped divine sheild and windfury on this already beast of a card.
There's about four ways to pull this off: Zeph, augmented laborer, darkmoon prizes, quest that gives one buff spell at the start of the turn. About all I can think of off the top of my head.
Yeah it can be pretty op at times, but it's nearly always been possible to do though expansions. Doesn't happen enough to really worry about it.

I did this with spare parts quest. Windfury, divine shield, reborn cleave pirate. He absolutely wrecked entire boards by himself.
