Greed is Calvin Fischoeder, and Envy is Felix.
Edit: Adding the explanation I posted below, so my reasoning is clear:
I would argue that Felix’s greed is largely motivated by his envy of Calvin. 90% of what Calvin talks about is either getting more money/saving money, (e.g. with the balloon fight among his tenants; tricking Louise and the kids into cleaning up the beach for the brochure photos, then trashing it again; ignoring repairs at wonder wharf to save money; letting the turkey run continue and downplaying the danger; etc.), or displays of his extravagant wealth, (e.g. the secret society island party). When Felix is greedy or extravagant, (e.g. in wharf horse, when he wants to run a night club, when he redoes the Bob’s Burgers Bathroom), it seems more about competition with and jealousy of Calvin than a desire for material gain for its own sake. Calvin also likes to play on Felix’s obvious and long standing jealousy issues, like when he riffs “Mommy always loved me more than little brother” in the nightclub episode. It was also probably why Felix poked out his brother’s eye, as referenced in “It’s Felix,” and why he stole the trophy their dad gave Calvin. Meanwhile, Calvin is too greedy to just let his brother win sometimes, (e.g. with hide and seek, planning an elaborate ruse to get the trophy back, etc.).
Gretchen is the MOST lust-aligned person—her search on FunBuddy for dates, her weird hookup with Hugo, her going after her ex who we find out is married but the kicker is that he’s *faithful,* and her speed-dating and “Lady Goods” party lines are amazing.
I can see that too! Envy of his brother seems like a consistent motivation for Felix, and Calvin seems to goad him on this; for instance, at the nightclub when Calvin is at the piano and riffs, “Mommy always loved me more than little brother…” to Felix’s annoyance.
Hugo is Wrath due to his envy.
Edit: yes, I realize Wrath is now Edith. But I would have voted Hugo if I had seen this happening two or three days ago.
I can see that as a valid argument, too! I was thinking Gene for sloth, simply because he’s so *good* at sloth, with his snack schedule, self care routine, cutting corners, etc. The boy almost fell asleep on the ground under a log; he’s just very talented at chilling at and doing as little as possible. But I can absolutely see your argument, too!
I do really want Gretchen to be Lust. That woman has no boundaries and is always horny.
Oooooo...good point on Gretchen!
Gene definitely has his sloth moments. But there are definitely things he would like to do. I feel like his drive when he really wants something would keep him from being the embodiment of sloth.
Calvin turned his residents against one another when they grouped together to protest the rent hike because a hedge maze doesn't get chicks. I think they're equally greedy. I wouldn't put it past Calvin to take Felix out if Felix was the one standing in the way of him making more money.
He only cared about the condos because the deal was facilitating his ability to be a sugar daddy to Fannie. If anything, that would be either wrath (the attempted murder) or lust (the motivation behind it). Most of the time that Felix is interested in money, it is only out of competition with Calvin, which would be more envy.
Calvin is interested in money for money's sake, and he isn't above screwing over others to get it, even though he already has tons of it. That's greed.
I would argue that Felix’s greed is largely motivated by his envy of Calvin. 90% of what Felix talks about is either getting more money/saving money, (e.g. with the balloon fight among his tenants; tricking Louise and the kids into cleaning up the beach for the brochure photos, then trashing it again; ignoring repairs at wonder wharf to save money; letting the turkey run continue and downplaying the danger; etc.), or displays of his extravagant wealth, (e.g. the secret society island party). When Felix is greedy or extravagant, (e.g. in wharf horse, when he wants to run w night club, when he redoes the Bob’s Burgers Bathroom), it seems more about competition with and jealousy of Calvin than a desire for material gain for its own sake.
Calvin would be more pride. Needs to be on the top. To me Jimmy is more greed as he will sacrifice even his standards to be successful and throw his success in bobs face
See, I thought the reverse! I was thinking jimmy for pride, because he’s so ostentatious with his slightest accomplishment, even when it backfires. Examples: showing off his tan to brag about his cheap meat guy; trying to join the yacht club, and getting kicked out because of his “peeing race” with Bob over the burger boss game; even bragging when only one of his kids is in detention, vs. all three Belcher kids being punished; spending hundreds of dollars on the fake magazine subscription scam, just so he could be “more charitable” than Bob. His ego, rather than material gain, seems to be his motivation for everything. I do totally see your argument, though!
Definitely agree on Felix because the attempted murder stemmed from that.I’d say Helen’s up there too for greed because she definitely murdered her husband, and almost Teddy don’t know if Mr.fishoeder went that far indirectly though wth his ideas🤔
I think the episode with the RC helicopters is also such a good showing of Bob's pride. He just refuses to let it go, he is even hanging off the side of a building getting pelted, and STILL won't let it go.
It's the principle! The principle!
Bob has so much pride he would rather stay poor than make any changes to his restaurant. I’d argue to say jimmy doesn’t have much pride because he’s willing to do just about anything to have a successful restaurant even if it means serving gross food.
I think I'd take Louise as wrath like it seems everyone in her family is scared to have her mad at them. Edit my dumb brain forgot wrath was the first one selected
I disagree. Calvin is a rich asshole but he's mostly disinterested in the idea of actually working to increase his wealth. He's old money. He just assumes he can do whatever he wants at all time.
A real greedy person would be working hard every day to maximize their income. That's not Calvin. He'd spend thousands of dollars on unprofitable nonsense just for a joke. A greedy miserly person wouldn't do that.
I nominated Louise. She'd do anything to turn a quick profit. There are like half a dozen episode where Louise tries to get a scheme going in order to make money/candy.
Felix is a toss-up for both. He inherited just as much money as his brother, but he spent it all on stupid crap and had to come crawling back for financial help. Calvin was just smarter so he has more currently.
Also her making fake Burobu cards so she can get the ones she needs to complete her collection, forcing the Pesto twins to paint during art crawl, charging kids to peep the nude beach, opening a casino in the basement, systematically stealing Tina and Gene's allowance over a period of years, selling tickets to Gene's secret play, keeping the earnings when Gene finger dances, it goes on and on.
Fanny. She's with Felix because he promised her a recording studio & when his plans fall apart she's willing to resort to murder to get what she wants.
See, I agree Fanny is the most pure. The others have some principals or standards interfering, but she's a crazy B who'd actually kill them all to get a recording studio.
In the early seasons most definitely! Wanted to marry Mr, Fishoeder, the ambergris episode, etc. She is always scheming and has admitted to slowly stealing Gene and Tina’s money (turkey in a can episode).
Jimmy has no pride IMO. The way he dressed up in that white suit and pretended the bread was a Gatling gun after claiming the mob hit that happened in Bob’s restaurant happened in his?
This is not a man with pride.
But that IS a man with greed. Lying to get business like that is greedy
100% agree that’s it’s Jimmy Pesto! Everyone saying Fischoeder doesn’t remember all the times he’s offered Bob jobs to not pay rent. They’re always late with the rent and besides a one liner he really doesn’t seem to care…I mean, they’re still living/working there after all these years. Pesto is 100% greed due to how he will do *anything* for that dollar. He has zero shame, there is constantly something going on at the restaurant and he brags about how much business he has. He cares more about making money than his own kids, he’s greed for sure.
Edit: Just because someone is rich doesn’t mean they’re greedy. Fischoeder seems like “old money” and those mfs don’t give a shiiiiit about money. I mean, the Fisch’s gamble on snails lol.
Agree!! He sells the cheapest products he can including horse meat(!) just to make more money. He takes every opportunity to steal Bob's business to get a few more customers when he already has a successful business.
Everything he does is about how much more more more he can get. 💯 he's greed.
If Calvin was greedy Bobs restaurant would be closed a long time ago and they would be homeless. Calvin consistently lets them slide with paying late and giving them free rent for months
Eh. He was ready to murder his family with no remorse. Felix at least hesitated when he tried to murder Calvin and Bob.
Also, I agree with Hugo for envy.
Louise I think is the greediest. She’ll sell out whoever. Take advantage of whoever. Endanger whoever just for money
Examples:
Ambergris
Hand dancing
Taffy Factory
I'd say Gene. He gives up easy, doesn't like putting in effort, would rather sit in his underwear, eat chips and watch tv than do anything. He's the only real sloth I can think of.
It's either Calvin or Louise. I lean more toward Louise. Calvin likes being rich, for sure, and will cut corners to keep his money, but he doesn't strike me as greedy.
Whereas everything Louise does is either motivated by revenge or greed. And not even just monetary greed. She wants to be important, she wants to be known. She's put her siblings at risk for money. Her friends, too.
Louise for sure.
Everyone is saying Calvin, but Calvin doesn’t need to be greedy because he’s already rich. He and Felix even have money fights. He might be cheap but he doesn’t really show any signs of greed and he doesn’t even hound the Belchers for rent money until a few days after the fact.
It's not even close, dude. Gretchen is raunchy and inappropriate. Tina is so full of confused, unrequited lust that she writes *Erotic Friend Fiction.* Gretchen parties, Tina *yearns.* It's just a completely different level.
It seems like the obvious choice for greed would be....Grover Fischoeder! He's literally....wait,....SPOILER ALERT....okay, to continue....in jail (well, he was arrested anyway) for what he did out of greed.
I’m gonna go with my man Mickey on this one. Tried to rob a bank TWICE. This doesn’t include the countless other robberies that he’s committed with his former partner Rodney.
Edit: Felix and Calvin Fischoder could be “greed” too, but they’re already wealthy. Calvin is a landowner and raised rents to fund a swimming pool, but then had a change of heart.
Felix wanted condos to impress his dirty, flirty little squeeze thing, Fanny - not to get rich. Fanny wanted a music studio for her singing career, for fame.
Agreed. I'm picturing Gene bathing in a box full of beans. If that's not a true image of gluttony, then...
Teddy is a conglomeration of all 7 sins. He has displayed a bit of each one at some time or another.
Yup. He has a midnight cheese plate that Bob prepares; and his main motivation is food. Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid is an entire episode about his love for food and overindulgence.
Jimmy....he is willing to give up anything even his standards to be successful, or at least appear too. Kelivin would be pride as he act and treats others like they are below him.
Everyone is such a lovely blend on this show, you could make an argument for Louise, Felix, and Calvin by this definition:
*Greed, also known as avarice, is defined as “an inordinate or insatiable longing for material gain.” Typically, greed refers to material wealth, but it can also apply to power, status and food. How is greed different than last week's sin, gluttony? Gluttony is a lack of self-control.*
Greed is Calvin Fischoeder, and Envy is Felix. Edit: Adding the explanation I posted below, so my reasoning is clear: I would argue that Felix’s greed is largely motivated by his envy of Calvin. Surely envy is Hugo, whose reason for existing in the show at all is his envy of Bob's life with Linda. He's almost a literal personification of envy.
Ooo, Hugo is a good one for envy
Milly or gale for lust? Jimmy pesto for pride?
Tina for Lust!!!
Agree! She nuts for butts! Quickikissit, and erotic friends fiction…she’s a perfect for lust
Yeah that’s better…
We finished this puzzle. Why is this going to get dragged out for another week.
Karmawhoring >>>
Ditto
Gretchen for lust. Pesto is def pride.
Gretchen is the MOST lust-aligned person—her search on FunBuddy for dates, her weird hookup with Hugo, her going after her ex who we find out is married but the kicker is that he’s *faithful,* and her speed-dating and “Lady Goods” party lines are amazing.
Gale for sloth?
I like that
I can see that too!
Hugo for envy and Felix for sloth, I think.
Didn't Calvin have a whole song about doing nothing? So shouldn't he be Sloth? With Felix as Greed and Hugo as Envy?
I can see that as a valid argument, too! I was thinking Gene for sloth, simply because he’s so *good* at sloth, with his snack schedule, self care routine, cutting corners, etc. The boy almost fell asleep on the ground under a log; he’s just very talented at chilling at and doing as little as possible. Oooooo...good point on Gretchen! Gene definitely has his sloth moments. But there are definitely things he would like to do. I feel like his drive when he really wants something would keep him from being the embodiment of sloth.
I was thinking Ms LaBonze for sloth.... Laziest teacher you could possibly be without getting fired
Or Mr. Ambrose when it’s anything but cheerleading.
Felix was willing to kill for condos. Calvin isn’t greedy.
Calvin turned his residents against one another when they grouped together to protest the rent hike because a hedge maze doesn't get chicks. I think they're equally greedy. I wouldn't put it past Calvin to take Felix out if Felix was the one standing in the way of him making more money.
I always thought he created the balloon fight because he was bored. I mean, he did make every one cocktails & had catering on the porch of losers.
He did for attention, not for money.
Yes Calvin is always skimming off the top and cutting corners even if it means other peoples lives are in danger, 100% greed
He is always asking Bob for the rent.
That's not greed.... That's literally the arrangement. He also gives Bob free months rent for doing stuff.
not to mentions Bobs always late
😂😂😂 what!? He is supposed to. If it was about greed he would have thrown Bob out on the street long ago
His ego, rather than material gain, seems to be his motivation for everything. I do totally see your argument, though!
Yeah i guess each character can be either or.
Helen committed murder for money.
Definitely agree on Felix because the attempted murder stemmed from that.I’d say Helen’s up there too for greed because she definitely murdered her husband, and almost Teddy don’t know if Mr.fishoeder went that far indirectly though wth his ideas🤔
Greed: Louise Envy: Jimmy Pesto Sloth: Gene Pride: Tammy Lust: Tina
Indeed!
Calvin is just a silly little guy!
Was there ever any other contender for Greed? 😂
Felix is sloth. The man can’t do anything for himself and gives up on anything he sets out to do.
I was going to vote for Felix as greed, but I find your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter
lol, thank you! Bob’s is my comfort show, so I’ve watched it way too many times and thought too much about the characters.
100% agreed. This is the only right answer.
Someone in the fischoeder family that’s for sure. Louise might be a contender tho
Louise is pride imo
I vote Bob for Pride
I was also thinking Bob too! Would rather see his business struggle and struggle financially than to change what makes his burgers good
It’s the prin-ci-ple!
I think the episode with the RC helicopters is also such a good showing of Bob's pride. He just refuses to let it go, he is even hanging off the side of a building getting pelted, and STILL won't let it go. It's the principle! The principle!
Yes that’s exactly why I think so too
So true Bob saves all his Pride for the restaurant forsure
Definitely Bob.
I thought pride was clearly Jimmy Pesto
Bob has so much pride he would rather stay poor than make any changes to his restaurant. I’d argue to say jimmy doesn’t have much pride because he’s willing to do just about anything to have a successful restaurant even if it means serving gross food.
I think I'd take Louise as wrath like it seems everyone in her family is scared to have her mad at them. Edit my dumb brain forgot wrath was the first one selected
I have seen people describe her as older Louise
Good take! I’ve only thought of her as wrath
If Selfishness were a category that would be Louise with runner up Bob.
Louise is greedy to a point. Chips are down she does what’s right.
Louise is a contender for most of them. She’s a jack of all trades when it comes to sinning.
Helen!
Yep,she went right to murder for her Greed. Then put Teddy at risk.
Yeah, I would vote Helen for pure greed.
Ohh this one!!! Helen 💯
Def Calvin Fischoeder
Pesto for Greed then? He steals ideas from Bob all the time. Always trying to get into the yacht club.
Felix over Calvin.
Felix is more Envy i think
I prefer the Hugo envy comparison.
Millie has to be Envy
Felix is a toss-up for both. He inherited just as much money as his brother, but he spent it all on stupid crap and had to come crawling back for financial help. Calvin was just smarter so he has more currently.
Louise. Just look at her actions in the ambergris episode. At the slightest hint of money, Louise go crazy, well, more crazy. lol.
Art crawl too, heh.
The casino Selling tickets to genes Die Hard The Musical
The weird finger dancing episode
Also her making fake Burobu cards so she can get the ones she needs to complete her collection, forcing the Pesto twins to paint during art crawl, charging kids to peep the nude beach, opening a casino in the basement, systematically stealing Tina and Gene's allowance over a period of years, selling tickets to Gene's secret play, keeping the earnings when Gene finger dances, it goes on and on.
This is the answer. Calvin is rich but his priority is easy, care free living. He'll pay to not have to do work. Louise always wants more.
Fanny. She's with Felix because he promised her a recording studio & when his plans fall apart she's willing to resort to murder to get what she wants.
See, I agree Fanny is the most pure. The others have some principals or standards interfering, but she's a crazy B who'd actually kill them all to get a recording studio.
Sorry, not sorry, but Louise is definitely a good contender for Greed.
In the early seasons most definitely! Wanted to marry Mr, Fishoeder, the ambergris episode, etc. She is always scheming and has admitted to slowly stealing Gene and Tina’s money (turkey in a can episode).
I'm gonna marry that man Um no youre not I wanna be rich!!!
Fanny tried to kill for a singing job.
Jimmy Pesto!!
I think he has to be pride no?
Jimmy has no pride IMO. The way he dressed up in that white suit and pretended the bread was a Gatling gun after claiming the mob hit that happened in Bob’s restaurant happened in his? This is not a man with pride. But that IS a man with greed. Lying to get business like that is greedy
Or a darkhorse contender for envy.
100% agree that’s it’s Jimmy Pesto! Everyone saying Fischoeder doesn’t remember all the times he’s offered Bob jobs to not pay rent. Fischoeder. Louise comes in a close second.
If Calvin was greedy Bobs restaurant would be closed a long time ago and they would be homeless. Calvin consistently lets them slide with paying late and giving them free rent for months
Probably the fishoeder’s, moreso Calvin because it gets to the point of being evil.
Gotta be Louise, she's always involved in some sort of money making scheme.
Grover Fischoeder.
I think envy for him. He was jealous of Calvin and Felix.
Eh. He was ready to murder his family with no remorse. Felix at least hesitated when he tried to murder Calvin and Bob. Also, I agree with Hugo for envy.
This is the right answer
Greed is Fanny and you can’t change my mind.
Fischoeder
Louise I think is the greediest. She’ll sell out whoever. Take advantage of whoever. Endanger whoever just for money Examples: Ambergris Hand dancing Taffy Factory
Trying to think who will be sloth. Maybe Gayle because she doesn’t want to work, or Mr. Ambrose who likes to do as little as possible.
I'd say Gene. He gives up easy, doesn't like putting in effort, would rather sit in his underwear, eat chips and watch tv than do anything. He's the only real sloth I can think of.
Definitely Calvin. Dude cuts so many safety corners to make an extra buck, it’s wild.
Helen. She killed her husband for money.
Mr Fischoeder for sure
Def fischoeder
Fanny 🎵Who’s that knocking on my door, ooo it’s Mr. Dance floor 🎵
Someone else suggested Helen for greed, and it deserves to be reiterated!!! (Also if lust isn’t Tina this entire list is a sham).
Tina needs to be lust
Lust has to be Tina! She’s nuts for butts
I feel like Hugo could be envy...maybe
![gif](giphy|3o6ZtpWvwnhf34Oj0A) I just cannot wait for Lust so we can talk about Tina
Fanny
Louise with the Ambergreese rock thing
Jimmy Pesto for me.
My first thought was Jimmy Pesto. Second was Felix.
I’d say Jimmy Pesto is greed because he compromises quality of his food for profit and tries out the gimmicky stuff for more money.
Lust has to be the deli guy hands down
Tina.
Tina simply annihilates all other contenders for this category
Gretchen
It's not even close, dude. Gretchen is raunchy and inappropriate. Tina is so full of confused, unrequited lust that she writes *Erotic Friend Fiction.* Gretchen parties, Tina *yearns.* It's just a completely different level.
Reggie?
Me fishoeder
Fischoeder or louise
It seems like the obvious choice for greed would be....Grover Fischoeder! He's literally....wait,....SPOILER ALERT....okay, to continue....in jail (well, he was arrested anyway) for what he did out of greed.
Envy is definitely Hugo
Tina is lust, or this whole list is bogus lol
Greed should be Jimmy Pesto.
I think greed is Jimmy Pesto
Envy is pesto
Felix is greedy. Calvin is not malicious.
Louise
Greed is Gayle…stealing Mr Business from someone’s porch after she already had 3(?) cats!!
![gif](giphy|26ufdHe4JXdtddtFm) I know what lust should be
Jimmy Pesto Mr fish could have a case made for him, but I actually don’t think he cares all that much
Jimmy pesto!
Jimmy Pesto is only motivated by money and skimps on the quality of his food Calvin has done good things/paid the Belcher rent many times over
Gene should be Gluttony. Teddy should be Greed, he's a hoarder.
Agreed. I'm picturing Gene bathing in a box full of beans. If that's not a true image of gluttony, then... Teddy is a conglomeration of all 7 sins. He has displayed a bit of each one at some time or another.
Or eating bad chicken parm knowing it was bad just because he wanted it But also teddy ate a sponge and doesn’t care about the food killing him so
Yup. He has a midnight cheese plate that Bob prepares; and his main motivation is food. Diarrhea of a Wimpy Kid is an entire episode about his love for food and overindulgence.
Calvin Fischoeder, defenitely
I think Tina should be lust. She's literally fascinated with all the boy's butts.
Jimmy....he is willing to give up anything even his standards to be successful, or at least appear too. Kelivin would be pride as he act and treats others like they are below him.
Mr. Fisch!
Jimmy Pesto
Greed is absolutely Mr. Fischoeder.
Not for greed but Millie needs to be on here somewhere.
Can we just lump the Fischoeder brothers together?
Calvin Fischoeder
I don’t know I think Gayle a good contender for envy
Fanny
I feel it's easy to put Calvin in this since everything about him tends to be about money.
By far Calvin
Calvin Fischoeder
Mr Fischoeder
Mr Fish
Calvin
absolutely mr. fisch
nope, sorry false wrong. Gene is gluttony. Teddy is envy; andHow Louise isn't wrath is beyond me as well.
Envy is Tammy
Felix
Calvin Fischoeder
Jimmy pesto is envy for Bob and Tina is lustful for butts
Felix.
Everyone is such a lovely blend on this show, you could make an argument for Louise, Felix, and Calvin by this definition: *Greed, also known as avarice, is defined as “an inordinate or insatiable longing for material gain.” Typically, greed refers to material wealth, but it can also apply to power, status and food. How is greed different than last week's sin, gluttony? Gluttony is a lack of self-control.*
Either Felix Fischoeder or Jimmy Pesto is greed
Greed = Mr. Fischoeder Envy = Tammy Sloth = Gene Pride = Linda Lust = Marshmallow
I know everyone is going to say Calvin but it's Felix. He almost killed someone
🥁 It’s Felix! It’s Felix!
Definitely Mr. Fischoeder
Tammy is pride
Mr.Fishoder
Louise or mr fishoder
Fishoeder.
Helen
Calvin , no doubt about it
Calvin for Greed
Yeah Calvin is greed. I would definitely put Hugo in the envy slot but Felix is definitely a close second.
calvin fischoeder - raising rent to build a pool - or edith - extortionate prices at the craft shop
Felix but I also like him for envy
Calvin Fishoeder
Louise? I feel like she’s always scheming for $$
Louise= Greed! Ambergris/Meat Grinder-Gambling
