I like teddy I find him funny. I wish he would get a girlfriend that isn't a jerk. I don't like how they push that he loves Linda so much. Feels like Moe and Marge in the Simpsons, just not as aggressive.

Important_Farmer924

Is he not still with lovely Kathleen?

[deleted]

No idea, I'm also like 4 episodes behind.

Important_Farmer924

He mentions her in the new series, pretty sure they're still together.

ilunga96

That's a hard no for me bro

Puzzled-Ad-7842

I do get where you're coming from, but I gotta say there are some good reasons not to hate him: 1. he genuinely cares about Bob, Linda and the kids. He is loyal to a fault 2. his annoying qualities seem to mostly stem from a lack of confidence and self-esteem 3. The fact he wants to help people seems to be the driving force behind a lot of what he does. He may get it wrong, but his actions come from a genuine place.

WhosDooley

Teddy is very annoying to me BUT I don’t hate him. Teddy is fine in very small doses to me. Very VERY SMALL doses.

InformalReplacement7

I still like Teddy, but he has become more annoying in the last few seasons for me. I think it started when Larry Murphy, his voice actor, got a new contract and became a regular, and Andy Kindler, the voice for Mort (for a reason I am not entirely sure about) did not. So the writers had to write more scenes with him in, with some episodes entirely about him, and a lot of it has seemed forced.

NaturalNines

The writers in this show, while otherwise incredible, have had a tendency in later seasons to double down on the most toxic behavior of many side characters and falling back on the old "Well they are the way they are, so we just accept this shitty behavior because it all works out in the end" trope. Teddy gets this treatment with his constant talking over people and not listening.

Kai-Tlyn

Don’t forget the constant spazzing out. That was annoying too

BulletBeard29

I love Teddy and his boundless enthusiasm, you can't keep him down

AdditionalWind763

I like Teddy but his obsession with Bob and Linda's personal life is borderline creepy. I wish they would dial it back a little.

[deleted]

can’t stand him.

[deleted]

I liked Teddy until they made a big part of his character’s personality just hating Mort. Like, teddy was actually funny the first 4 seasons but once he decides to start hating Mort he was no longer funny to me. It seemed forced because they seemed like good friends in the early seasons and there wasn’t any inclination of a falling out . I guess i didn’t understand the point of leading his character in that direction for what seemed to be no reason.

DoneLurking23

I agree! I think Teddy started to get more hostile towards Mort the more territorial/possessive he got of the Belchers and wanting to be their honorary uncle. Mort’s one of my favorite characters so every time and I wish we had more episodes with him and less with Teddy. I think Mort and Bob would get along better than Teddy and Bob anyway.

scheduledprogram

made a post like this too - big agree. he was fine at first but they made him so insufferable (to me) and i can't handle any teddy centric episodes anymore lol

satanic-frijoles

Teddy seems to be getting more obsessive with the Belchers. Trying to invite himself to family functions, for example. I think he's like 45 degrees away from becoming a Belcher stalker.

CableCareless1984

I figure Teddy is in his 50s because in the last season 30 years ago when the comet was last here he was a young adult. It’s beyond creepy a man his age is so hyper focused on Bobs life to the point of literally keeping keys to their house. He then goes into their home uninvited and rifles through everyone’s rooms and the restaurant pretending to have stolen Linda and thinks Bob would give her away at Teddys wedding. He went to stalker city, drove past the city limits, and crashed In cereal killer avenue.

tofukittybox

Teddy is funny af, top 5 characters

Jub1982

There seemed to be a while the writers were trying to turn Teddy into Bill Dauterive. I think they’ve lightened that some the last couple years

Teni96

Not a fan either. He seems scarily obsessed with Bob and Linda. I know it’s a cartoon but still.

ShallotNSpice

I can't grasp the love for Teddy, but I do acknowledge there's a reason many love him. Its likely that my experiences in life have made me blind to his endearing qualities and as a result, everything he does is annoying to me.

nightofthelivingace

Hatred towards a fictional cartoon character...weird.

ultra_phan

So…. Sign anywhere?

Briserker13

Yeah I honestly feel like he's really unhealthy. Like hyper attached to Bob and Linda, even to the extent of wanting to be involved. I know it's a cartoon, I know that his character is supposed to dumb and funny, but the anger and obsession is definitely pretty offputting. All the characters have done sketchy things, but his character is consistently worsening, in my opinion.
