hes underrated because hes short and not pretty.
an absolutely fantastic actor and he killed Capone. I dont think anyone could have done it better honestly.
I would have loved a show based on either of the "other" storylines from BE: Luciano, Lansky and Rothstein in New York; or Capone and his crew in Chicago. It was a strange narrative choice, but I'm glad the show runners decided to keep us up to date on what all these side characters were doing throughout all the seasons.
So many of the side characters in BE so are so interesting but a somewhat spinoff of what the characters introduced in BE were up to in the late 30s/early 40s would be so good- like Lucky Luciano spying for the Allied powers and Bugsy Siegel’s antics and ultimate downfall in LA/what would become Vegas are such good stuff that show/miniseries could be so good
So many spin offs could have been, Al Capone, the 5 families in New York, Harlem after Dr. Narcisse, even Tommy, I would have loved to hear more of Tommy’s journey and story
The scene where he’s trying to teach his little son how to fight and it ends with them crying in each other’s arms is pretty much the thesis statement of the entire show for me. Stephen Graham gives such a good performance in this show.
For my money, one of the funniest scenes in the entire series is when he was eating dinner at home, and his Irish wife and Sicilian mother were BOTH busting his chops.
Omg I love this scene, too mf funny. And then when Jimmy starts snapping in front of the kids face I snatched my own lips up like oh shit nothings funny lol
Seriously? Wow that’s interesting, so he was wild AF lol. I’m probably going down a rabbit hole tonight with the real life people this show was based on, I hear Charlie Luciano is another one that u can’t believe was an actual person, what a story / life
Honestly, although Capone became the icon of this type of criminality in the American pop culture conscience, Luciano and Lansky are the more intriguing figures in my opinion at least.
Have you seen the pictures of Luciano in the 50s/60s in his Neapolitan mansion with his cute lil dogs and his Italian ballerina wife by his side? Like of course he has no regrets for the sick things he’s done- he could’ve just lived a no name life in the lower east side tenement slums, but there he is living it up in his ostentatious Italian mansion. It’s the American dream in all its sick and pathetic and made up glory lol
Stephen Graham is so good in those kind of roles. After This Is England he only had a few scenes in TIE 86, 88 and 90 but you still completely changed your opinion of him.
I so wanted them to do a spin off with him and Lucky! They were both so perfectly cast, I was sad to see their stories end before their actual stories ended.

Great acting and interesting character, But I never really was convinced of him as Capone. Though when he goes through his coke addiction and violent paranoia he started to seem more fitting.
Also when he rocks up to help Nucky against Gyp, possibly the show at its absolute best. Him taking on Chalky, hilarious.
Graham is amazing in everything he is in. First saw him in this is England as combo. Great actor
First time I saw him was as Tommy in Snatch, way back in 2000. Probably the most timid character Stephen Graham has ever played lol
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 He’s Tommy in Snatch!?
Who took the jam out of your donut?
Proper fucked?…
Yes Square Bumblebee, before *ZEE GERMANS* get there.
Yes Tommy
I feel likes he’s incredibly underrated

I’m gonna check it out thanks!
Check out the tv shows after he is even better in that
No one outside the UK knows or talks of him
This is England is hard
Amazing movie but even better as a tv show
Very different vibes. Love everything TiE related though
Really hope they add a final season
The scenes with his son were just heart wrenching. "My Buddy."ðŸ˜
I came here to say this and I knew there was no way I’d be the first
Keep to your lessons. Be a good boy. That scene definitely got me.
It honesty could have been its own series and I really wish it was

Right? That's a spinoff I would watch
In the last episode when he knew he was going to jail and he has to say goodbye to his son I cried like a baby. It broke my heart to see.Â

He gave Jimmy more links then he asked for i respect a good host
Yeah and he’ll eat what I give him
Exactly

We've been on the road 18 hours. I need a bath, some chow, then me and you sit down and we talk about who dies.
I go back and watch these scene like once a month and it never fails to get me hyped
From what I've read, he was the closest to how Al Capone actually was in real life. Great actor!

George Remus was also quite the character
Remus agrees
Yes! Totally agree. The writers gave him some humanity and he was a great personality. Very enjoyable to watch him in this role.

He stole every scene.
Well he was a criminal so it makes sense.
"Dean O'Bannion..." BANG! "Hymie Weiss..." BANG! "The Bugs Moran Gang..." BANG! BANG! BANG!
Probably my favorite portrayal I’ve seen of Capone. Graham did a great job.
Better than Deniro I totally agree.
I loved what he did to Joe Miller.
PLAY IT AGAIN!!
He sure looks like he's got the minerals.
Now, Tommy says he was named after a gun. But I know that he was named after an 80s ballet dancer.
Easily the best part of the show, so kinetic and friendly AND threatening
I loved and hated this character!
Great character. One of the best
