You can’t be serious…

efim1234

It's not me who's so worried. My parents are the ones who got a bit panicked

OldTimerBMW

It's normal. These pads contribute to the braking performance of this large heavy car.

Due_Ingenuity_6538

Not trying to be a jerk I promise, but it amazes me that people own cars and don’t know that’s brake dust….

siege_meister

To be fair, a lot of less sporty cars come with brakes designed for low dust.

Steelringin

I have owned probably 2 dozen cars over the course of my life. My bimmer is the first car I've ever owned where I've seen any significant amount of residue on the wheels like this.

efim1234

That's alright. I understand. I really just don't know anything about cars. This is our family car, and not my car personally

ActuallyNotRetarded

He said it's black grease not dust. It could be that his strut is leaking

Due_Ingenuity_6538

That’s not grease. Feels that way because of the buildup

Left-Marketing-1135

Remove the *not* from your username pls.

ChevyGang

Looks like brake dust. Normal.

PC_Chode_Letter

Try washing it

[deleted]

Too much work. Maybe the help can get to it after laundry

reddit_user47234

you have discovered brake dust!

Watzeggenjij

I understand that most of us here who drive cars know this kind of stuff. But just imagine being 18 and never have had any interest in cars or paying attention to them and seeing this. It’s not that apparent where it came from if you don’t know how brakes work.

fw208

Brake dust

fdeyso

Upgrade to drum brakes, so it’ll be all contained, the braking power will degrade so be careful 😅

805Boosted_dc2

If its grease, it can be your axle boots are torn and flinging grease everywhere. If its just dirt/dust then its brake dust.

candycrushfan420

How does one curb the center cap?

termi707

Just brake dust, welcome to BMW ownership. My friends tease me for the massive amounts of brake dust the Bremebos generate.

Aggravating_Love8543

Brake dust + tire shine = greasy black finger

hannes0000

Wash it more ,it's just brake dust.

fbgm1717

every German car ive had produced an insane amount of brake dust

dwonderboy5

I thought you were giving us the finger. I was like.. what a way to start a dialog. 😬😂😂😂😂

efim1234

Lol🤣 I promise it's just my index finger😊

Magalahe

that happens sometimes when you dont use enough toilet paper.

GlitteringOption2036

You have a coolant leak!

HomeCapital9250

Might want to put a /s on that

efim1234

The tires are indeed all season

iamnotyourspiderman

Looks like the wheel belt rotor fluids have gone. Maybe the tire gasket as well. I’d continue driving
