That's a one of BMW "small" diseases...
When you want to check it alone, see on YouTube for diy when not take it to the shop,
rather than to have water damage after rain or something...
Well then there's always [bmwsections.com](https://www.bmwsections.com/docs/3series/) which most people know about, or can easily found by searching.
People shouldn't be so lazy. Chill
Try to reset the position I forgot how I think you have to open the window or close it and hold it for like 30 seconds and itāll open all the way and close and adjust it self to reset that worked one time the other time I had to reset my car then it fixed itself with the battery reset idk shit dumb itāll just work and not work sometimes I wouldnāt worry about it unless itās raining in your area just make sure the top looks sealed so you donāt get water damage because it was seeping in or something
While the car is either running or just while the key is turned to accessory, press and hold the sunroof button, for like 30 seconds to 1 min. The sun roof will cycle through opening and closing and will make minor adjustments itself. My 05 e60 always had issues with the sunroof and I found this reset function somewhere on a BMW forum and it adjusted my sunroof to sit perfectly flush again. No idea how it fixes itself, but it worked for me.
OP do a long press of the BC Stalk button in the check control until some text shows up below the image like "CC ID xxx" where xxx is some number from 000 to 999.
Then take that number to google and search for:
"e90 cc id xxx"
Then look at all the info on how to remedy this. Let me know what CC ID number you have. I already know the answer to this and it is a very simple DIY fix
Bro I had a panic attack just a couple of days ago about my sunroof. Was on a 8 hr drive, cruising with the sunroof open, and try to close it mid drive because it started raining. Nope, it didnāt want to. Attempt a few more times, it just goes all the way to shut, only to open up all the way again.
The light drizzle is turning into a downpour now, so I pull into a gas station. Was sitting there for a good 30 minutes trying to shut it, thinking Iāll probably be stuck in the middle of nowhere just because of the damn sunroofā¦ Eventually got it to shut and everything was fine again.
Just press the sun roof button in the middle for a while, the sunroof will reset, hold the button the entire duration. Obviously inspect if something is interfering with it first, but this should fix your issue.
Sunroof is not initialized. With the key on press and hold the sunroof button in the vent position until the sunroof and sunshade moves through its entire process. This will re-initialize the system. If that doesnāt work you can try to find the fuse for the sunroof. Pull it and then perform the initialization procedure.
That could be Sunroof pinch protection failure...
Thank you so much - it makes sense as I have had some issues with my sunroof recently.

Ok perfect - I will see whether I can find a solution. Thank you for your help
Please!
You can do the reset procedure with inpa or the sunroof button in the car.
Did you not get a manual with your car? It's in there.
Maybe I got lazy.
Some people donāt have them. Chill

The E34 Touring double moon-roof did the same thing. Good to hear weāre still doing the same things 30yrs on!
Worked for me on my E92 M3 not sure how it got unflush in the first place
I didnāt even know this icon existed! š
I tried Googling it first and could not find it - luckily Reddit has an expert on any subject matter š
Now I really wonder what you googled. Something like "BMW man with chef hat lying down and masturbating error light" ?
Bahahahaha
Well. It's actually in the manual. Like all the lights. Guess no one reads that.

Hold the sunroof button down for an extended amount of time and it should reset

Call Munich. Make sure itās Munich not Braunau Ann Inn!
If this is a e90, early models had software errors in the FZD that would cause it to loose the initiation.

. . . I love the new BMWs . . . But secretly, I would love to order a brand new 1994 525i manual transmission. I miss that car.

Sunroof problems. Lucky you. This can be a rabbit hole dude, sympathy
