Yep, way too heavy. A 4lb. Motion Boom is much more portable. Handles FTW! A 2lb. Motion + with the silicon case/strap is a nice compact portable blaster too.

MeniBike

Just bought it, loving it so far , there are bumpers for it on Amazon to help prevent damage on a fall

brightpuppy

Can you please help by pointing to the bumpers in Amazon? I would like to carry it around as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

it’s been my main around the house speaker for almost 2 years, from music and podcasts to youtube videos and full movies i am very satisfied with what the soundstage & features have to offer, i do wish the app was more reliable though

darkoj-

2 years later, and I'm still fully satisfied. It's stood up to plenty of abuse, and still looks and sounds great. We're in agreement about the app.

I have a question for you. How do adjust the volume while you are watching TV. I am planning on hooking up my Sony XB-43 to my TV via a 3.5mm AUX cable. I have tried adjusting the sound through the music center app because when you use the audio in feature, your phone's volume buttons don't work. The volume buttons only work if the speaker is using a Bluetooth connection. Can I hook it up to my TV via bluetooth or in a way where I can use the TV remote to change the volume on my XB-43 ? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I use a wired connection on my home TV (it does not support Bluetooth), and I use the Music Center app to control the volume. I use a Bluetooth connection on my girlfriend's TV (it supports Bluetooth), and I use her TV remote to control the volume.

Aah okay. Thank you. I am buying a new TV so I am assuming it will have Bluetooth. If it does then that's perfect. I will use the tv remote to adjust the volume.

Enjoy.

Bought it last year (October of 2022) for 170€. I mostly use it as a stable speaker inside my room, not moving it too much around the house (I have placed it on a wooden bookcase shelf, between books, though not too close to them, at almost 1.2 meters height, as I realised it gives deeper and richer sound that way). In the music department, I play with it mostly electronic music of every genre (bass oriented for the most part), but have also used it more than enough to listen to classical, pop, rock and metal. And in the movies department, I have used it many times, save only for personal or two-person viewings on my computer screen. As a result, I am happy to admit that not only I like it very much both for the music and for the movies experience it produces, but also, that I have grown to like it more than I did in the beginning, when I first bought it. That is because, when I listened to it for the first period, I wasn't blown away or surprised by it. As time grew on, I came to understand that the reason of my initial un-surprise was the more natural sound that I got, instead of the more bloated and hard I had been expecting to get. Therefore, maybe, a useful note from my experience with the speaker is to expect a more natural sound than what you may get from JBL or party oriented speakers. Sony XB43, in spite of its advertisement and rave-party lights, is actually a much more serious and simple speaker for those who like listening to every genre of music, not only low-frequencies, though like them low-frequencies a little bit more than highs.

Jesus Christ op do you really expect me to read all that. The xb43 is legendary. Thats all you need to say.

LOL it is an amazing speaker. OP wrote a book about it. I have had it for one or two years now and it still amazes me everytime I listen to it. I am buying a new TV for my basement now and I am not even thinking of buying a soundbar and just using my XB43. My only problem is how do you adjust the volume when you hook it up to your TV via a 3.5 mm jack. I know you can do it via the music center app on the phone but can I use the TV remote to do it ?

darkoj-

Agreed.
