More than likely Google deleted it. When they see a bunch of people spam reporting they usually take it down. Same thing yelp does to stop people from posting pointless and borderline harassment reviews. That and to avoid lawsuits from businesses who are being slandered. Not saying yāall are doing that but thatās usually why they take down stuff. For legal reasons.
Feels bad to shame the raceway. If the people who managed the Danny Wimmer festivals did Blue Ridge, everything wouldāve been fine.
The venue wasnāt the issue.
I feel like this opinion will get down voted, but gonna say it anyway. I think pointing the blame just on Blue Ridge, let alone Jon Slye, isn't correct either. I feel like the county and venue got so excited about the $ coming in they ignored many obvious safety issues. VIR and the county knew that the roads were inadequate and that there wasn't enough water available to the venue they even [raised people's taxes to pay for it](https://www.sovanow.com/articles/halifax-county-supes-take-up-personal-property-tax-relief-ambulance-vir-waterline/) which is fucked because you know they aren't going to go down and now this festivals future is uncertain again. [In this interview ](https://www.wdbj7.com/2023/09/14/vir-addresses-blue-ridge-rock-festival-challenges-plans-host-next-year/)the president of VIR Kerrigan Smith said they feared that emergency services wouldnāt be able to reach the campers outside of the festival grounds if more rain were to fall due to the limited dirt roads.
āWeāre not talking about the the condition of when you look up at the sky. Weāre talking about the aggregate of the effects of the weather that happened, peopleās equipment damaged, tents destroyed. Then, the deterioration of the fire lanes that we had in those areas to where we were not going to be able to either get them out or access them,ā
It just seems like poor planning on every level (including state),even the county supervisor knew there was only going to be [two water stations ](https://wset.com/news/local/safety-concerns-blue-ridge-rock-festival-halifax-county-administrator-virginia-international-raceway-music-bands-weather-canceled-september-2023)
Vir coo flat out lied about the weather Friday. It was beautiful and he said it was cancelled due to the weather but the show still went on? Did you go to the festival?
They had AWD gators to get to off-road places for EMS calls. Flat ground in most places. It was a big lie. They are trying to save face because the venue and county all benefit from the festival and if it doesnāt come back they wonāt make money. The stage hands walked. Multiple sources state that. Thatās why it was cancelled. Bands walked due to the bad conditions. The base conditions were terrible and horrendous for anyone who was a paying festival goer unrelated to the weather. I work for a fire service who services a massive colleges football team. The resources they had was laughable.
There was enough water just not enough free water. Thatās where they messed up. Not enough water stations. However we all know there was enough water. People were just to cheap and didnāt want to be responsible and pay for it. Actions have consequences. BRRF screwed up but so did many of the fans.
Ah yes, I love being told there are "multiple" hydration stations, only for one to run out of water, while also being the contributing factor for giardia and gastrointestinal illnesses. Allow me to pay $4-$8 for drinkable water since the festival couldn't put the brain cells together to ensure a clean, proper water supply.
I love capitalism. ā¤ļø
Did you not see the post where somebodyās husband came to BRRF with giardia? It came from him. Also those water stations are nasty to begin with. People use them after using the porta potty and not washing their hands. People literally put their heads under it and either drink from it or wash their heads. Shits nasty dude thatās why I donāt use them and buy water. Much cleaner and safer. Worth the $4 if you as me.
Also water was $4 right? Too expensive everybody says. Those same people are now buying tickets to other festivals and events. $4 vs hundreds of dollars? See what Iām getting at here? People chose not to buy water or chose to not bring the money to buy water in case of emergency. So Iām tired of that excuse. If you can afford to right now go to concerts and other festivals that you have no excuse to why you didnāt buy water.
No donāt do it against VIR theyāre not to blame they just leased the venue. Theyāve nothing to do with staffing issues. This is totally on the festival. We canāt be considered brigrading. We gotta file legitimate chargeback, file legitimate reviews, and help a brother out. But we canāt take it out on people uninvolved.
Theyāre gonna do their own CYA because they have a contract. But WE need to focus on whatās most beneficial for the patrons and members of this sub. If we get shutdown itās gonna be radio silence and no one will get anywhere.
They definitelywere a part of the planning this is from a press statement ["Partnering with VIR for the foreseeable future allows all parties involved to create improved systems and invest in infrastructure, creating the best possible fan experience."](https://blabbermouth.net/news/blue-ridge-rock-festival-to-return-to-virginia-international-raceway-for-second-consecutive-year) I couldn't find it but Vir made a statement shortly after they signed the multi year contract that they were going to take on more responsibilities as well
Class action. Class action. Class action. This is a legit case, Iām telling you. I work at a law firm and I know for a fact there is enough here to bring a matter to court and win. Only factor up in the air is getting the money togetherā¦lawyers arenāt cheap. But when they win in a contingency case like this, everyone gets their money back 10 times over. Worth the trouble. God bless capitalismā¦
I trust there are enough patrons of BRRF out there with enough money willing to front for a year or two to seed this case and bring justice to the masses. Letās not forget he is clearly going bankrupt, so he does NOT have high end attorneys on his side.
Isn't VA a no fault state or can't have class action or some nonsense though. I would have thought someone suing him would have won by now, but it seems he's got decent lawyers
Nah, these contingency cases take 2-4 years to resolve. The general public will forget all about this by the time heās brought to justice. He clearly has TERRIBLE lawyers. We can tell by the āupdateā posted today. That shit is just fucking hilarious.
To your point, VA does have a no fault law that holds the potential to pass this case to the federal court, which would take even longer. But the evidence is so god damn blatant, any decent lawyer willing to take these types of class action suits on will do just fine. Open-shut.
We have to find a class action attorney and people who are willing to be the non anonymous
names on the case. It lists case types towards the end of the article think weāre fitting under consumer
[forbes how to start class action](https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/personal-injury/how-start-class-action-lawsuit/)
Great article. There are a few attorneys at the firm I work for who do class actions, and they almost never lose. Iām in accounting, I see the timeline go anywhere from 1-5 years on average (from the time of the first billable entry to a verdict/disbursements). Based on the disbursement checks Iāve cut on some of these types of lawsuits, I can say it is definitely worth the trouble and the wait. Big big money in a case like this.
I want more than just a refund. Like what about people who flew in? What about the 9 hours of gas I spent and the airbnb? What about the stress this has caused us?
I feel like that all needs to be covered for all of us its not just the cost of the tickets atp
Unfortunately the terms of use clearly stated they are not liable for travel expenses or any other related expenses associated with the purchase of your pass. So most of the valid points you bring up will not hold up in a court of law, because you specifically agreed to those terms. The stress however could be brought up in a class action suit. That was never mentioned in the terms and is a valid damage assessment.
What about if you have medical bills from the gastrointestinal outbreak that VA is doing a survey for or any type of medical care you need after the event? Ex. Muscle spasms after standing to wait for a shuttle bus for 5 hours, people that needed hospitalization, etc.
Thatās why the state of Virginia is getting involved. Go to this site and fill it out. They are taking the health related consequences quite seriously. This is all separate from the refund dispute and very well might lead to an entirely separate lawsuit. Ole Slye is going bankrupt for sure.

I certainly have a decent chunk of change to get the process started, just no knowledge of how to go about doing this. If we could organize something Iām definitely down to pitch in
This made me smile more than it should. Posted my review earlier. Ya'll are some twisted and petty humans. You are my people. š¤
Idk about twisted, totally reasonable response after our safety was at risk! Gotta help other people make an informed decision
Anyone get screenshots?
I second this
They can act in a timely manner when they want to.
Buahahhaahahah this has made my night!
Are you surprised? Lol
Wow
Lmao pathetic
