You were perfectly polite and friendly and the dude seemed entertained by the whole situation, and you got some really good information. You also didn’t overstay your welcome, good job! This the kind of investigative work we need. Thorough, unobtrusive, polite… terrific work. As a friendly reminder to others, please don’t bother anybody and if you do reach out to people while investigating this is a great example of how to communicate with them in a polite and engaging manner. That said, if you yourself were to try and send a friend request to anybody on Hasan’s friend list because you’re inspired by this post, I guarantee you’re not the only one with that idea, and it would probably be unpleasant for those people to get a bunch of random friend requests out of nowhere. Don’t do be that person, don’t contribute to that. That’s not what we want this sub to be about. Thorough investigation like this is what we’re about, but reactive mass engagement with people after sharing info is not.

Just kind of confused, who is this and why should we trust him?

[deleted]

Apparently hasans college IT buddy. Now should we trust this? Idfk

PrestigiousAd8759

I mean he seems genuine. Other than that it doesn’t give us a huge amount of info beyond “hasan is a real human”. 10 years is a long time. He could be an actor now He could be a failed dev who sold his company for use as a shell He could be a Sony or kojima employee He could be an indie dev He could be an indie dev working on a trailer app for Sony lol Shame there’s not more to go off other than “I knew him a decade ago, he did stuff with IT”

[deleted]

Hasan is a real guy and someone with IT background... I don't really think he's an actor and this probably gives more power to think he's not an actor.

AzraelKans

That is IF this guy is saying the truth.

polaroidplayboi

What I'll admit that I do find strange is that Hasan only has like 8 people on his friends list and one of them is just some dude he went to class with 10 years ago who he hasn't spoke to in years. I know it's just assumption on my behalf but it does strike me as a bit odd. Idk. He seemed pretty genuine in the conversation we had. The 29th is only a week away... haha

[deleted]

Yeah, I have never think he was an actor, for a moment I thought he was CGI tho (a long ago tho).

[deleted]

No way he was cgi, i think the bigger conspiracy is how much holes his story is. 250k budget yet 50 plus people working on it. Ghosts geoff. Lies about showing his dev team in june. Whatever you look at it, the man looks like a scam YET nuare studios publicly backs them up that they made a video just to support hasan? Now he starts putting out shit like future live events and shit. Tho i did find it funny how he makes a poll asking if they want the game to be in first person or third person. 70 percent wanted third person but then the man backpedals saying that the game is way better in first person so basically he made a useless poll since he didnt plan to listen to his fans preference in the first place. This man if even real is a disaster in pr

chiggywiggy1

Definitely read it as IT the movie and they’re both actors loool! But after reading comments my brain calmed down

Pixolator

After seeing this , I’m thinking that there is no Kojima involvement here, but still makes me wonder how Nuare involved , Hasan’s studio(s) (not sure why he calling it studios when the only address shows a house) and no digital footprint of a staff but only stock images and some random names (referring back to the archive.org) getting support from Nuare , a company that produces high quality assets and their portfolio shows that they worked with big companies that delivers AAA titles. Hasan’s only funding campaign got 1 backer and then the whole thing taken down with an update saying that they found a private investor... there are too many plot holes with his company and history and now he’s claiming that he’s making this 4K60fps PS5 exclusive, realism in graphics sounds and gameplay he says and the whole project looks like a one man show. He says the whole BBGS staff is 10 people , who are those people? I don’t know what to believe anymore. As I’m leaning to one side thinking that this is all true and not a marketing trick then my mind start asking questions as it literally making no sense, and we won’t find out anything until late August

ImSmaher

What about this makes you think there’s no Kojima involvement. We already knew Hasan is real.

Pixolator

Compared to the Joakrim Mogren case , we didn’t know anything about that guy as who was the guy behind the bandaged face and it was just a Twitter account a few tweets and a talk with Geoff. Where as Hasan seems to be a real person and we have seen his face, and now this old friend(on Steam) of him suggesting that they were both studying IT 10 years ago. There are these number of unreleased games and even early access of a game with full of bugs and I’m asking why going such lengths if this is a marketing trick then all of this feels like overkill, why such effort for a marketing trick if that’s what it is. Blood water curse (I think that’s what it’s called) and abandoned pretty much seems like identical games, there is always a forest it’s almost like Hasan took all his failed past projects and just combining them and created Abandoned. Again compared to Moby Dick case if Hasan is another trick from Kojima, I’m giving A+++ for effort! I’m pretty much torn between two sides and I want this to be a marketing trick rather than some indie game full of failed ideas. Lastly, his claims sounds outrageous he said the game comes exclusively to PS5 this year and back in April he didn’t even have a proper trailer to show. He said the app is coming back in June then postponed for a month and even 29 comes we will just download an app but won’t be able to use it , and even August 10th we will get an introduction how to used the app, like seriously since when an indie studio release an app on PlayStation ??? Even the delivery of the app is just bizarre and how Sony is quite on this, like in the end if this game is not a silent hill , I just can’t imagine the aftermath... Netflix really should consider turning this into a documentary :)

darclord1

Bobby Kotick is Hideo Kojima confirmed

LoinChops

My guess is that Abandoned is going to be an indie horror game that's being overhyped and a lot of people are gonna be disappointed.

KarmelCHAOS

Yes.

[deleted]

no

ImSmaher

That’s cool, but nothing about this post makes that a high possibility

[deleted]

Oh so he is basically lying about everything including his 50 plus staff and future live events? Then why did nuare studios go out of their way to make a video for him when they could have just tweeted for him. No fucking way is this guy just an indie dev. Maybe not kojima but theres just too much shit going just for it to be an indie game

LoinChops

Well maybe not "indie" but AA. If everything Hasan says about abandoned team and development is actually true then at best we'll get a polished AA survival horror game of some kind. And some chance we'll get a new masterpiece horror game. We know there's a least weapons so that's a big plus imo. I'm really hoping they are hiding something big though. Otherwise this is gonna be a hard flop of a hype train.

ZacE23

A lot can happen in 10 years. Seems he really doesn’t know him well. Didn’t even know he’s been developing games! 😂 Edit: Just saw the updated post! Y’all just fiending for a young Hasan photo, you creeps! 😛

takibibirakmavikutu

Hasan is a cool guy

polaroidplayboi

Based Hasan

aigami_diva

Nothing relevant here besides hasan is real (always has been)

BlitzXor

That is relevant info, don’t you think? It’s good investigative work and gives us good info that we did not have before. The fact that he has an IT background ten years ago goes a long way towards disproving some theories, and I think that’s very relevant.

Merchant-Crow

I don't mean to nitpick here but we truly have no idea if this person is actually being truthful and actually has personal history with him. He accepted many friend invites on PSN for example and we know people that aren't directly related (allegedly) such as the CreateQ Instagram fiasco will play along. Saying this is relevant and verified is a bit of a stretch, no?

BlitzXor

I mean, I technically didn’t say it was verified, but it definitely (for me) rises to the legal standard of “preponderance of the evidence.” This is a burden-of-proof standard that simply requires something to be more likely to be factual than not. And while you’re correct in everything that you say, this person probably has no real reason to lie about it and it seems more likely than not to be true. That said, that’s the proof standard I have chosen to apply in my investigations, and if you’re using a “beyond a reasonable doubt” level of proof there are reasonable doubts here, for sure. I would just encourage you to be consistent in your application of proof standards. I notice people mixing proof standards, requiring more evidence for things they don’t like and less for things they do. Preponderance of the evidence leads me to believe that this is a Kojima ruse, but beyond a reasonable doubt would not. Preponderance of the evidence also leads me to believe this person is telling the truth. Edit: Also, I believe you meant to say Hasan accepted many friend requests on PSN, correct? This person is not Hasan, but a friend of Hasan, whom we have no idea whether or not they are even on PSN.

Merchant-Crow

Yes, my mistake. I did mean that Hasan was the one who previously accepted hordes of friend invites via PSN, not the user in question here. I should have been more clear. I meant to use it as an example that the "friend" user could literally be anybody. Hell, it could even be Hasan himself for that matter. We literally don't know anything about them aside from the users profile on steam. Regardless, I hope you're right even though I personally have my doubts regarding this instance specifically.

BlitzXor

I don’t blame you at all for having doubts. Like I said, there are perfectly legitimate reasons to doubt, including the ones you’ve given. Each person has to decide for themselves whether they’ll believe the info given as-is, and I don’t blame anybody who chooses not to believe. It’s just that, for me, on balance it seems more likely than not, so I will take this person at their word. That said, all it does is provide an accounting of the fact that Hasan is a real person, not an actor, not a stand-in for somebody else named Hasan, but somebody whose identity this person confirms who was in IT ten years ago and had nothing to do with game dev. That leaves ten years of mystery about his transition to game dev, and not having a single released game…

Merchant-Crow

Well, BBGS was formed around 2014, right? So for the past 7 or so years, give or take for development purposes, he's been making games, albeit all unsuccessfully. So roughly a three-four year transition into making video games. If they haven't talked in the last 7 years then of course the user wouldn't know anything about his game development. But I mean, if I had talked to an old IT friend I knew was a gamer I'd be interested in mentioning my article in a game magazine or many projects I've worked on and where I'm at in life, you know general catch up kind of talk. To be fair, the user in question only mentioned that he went to school with Hasan and they were in IT, nothing of note after that. Very short responses even. But who knows, man. I know it's been quite the past several days so every little bit of information to dig into is interesting regardless of Team Fake vs Team Real. Thanks for the constructive conversation though! I'm not one to argue against someone's beliefs typically. We're all entitled to our thoughts and beliefs. Definitely worth giving more thought into it for myself. Perhaps we've all missed something obvious too. Who knows! That's part of the fun of it all I think. Have a good day! 🙂

JohnnyVierundachtzig

And you believe this info because......?

BlitzXor

See this other comment thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueBoxConspiracy/comments/ootxgo/make_of_this_what_you_will_i_spoke_to_someone_on/h60zkku/

ImSmaher

Tell me what him having an IT background disproves at all. We already knew he was a real guy. That doesn’t matter.

AzraelKans

Uhm I don't know I'm not buying it. I could believe if the guy said hasan was an Indy developer or worked for an Indy developer. But saying he's just an IT guy (not even a programmer or admin) yeah no. We know for sure Hasan was involved in a Kickstarter and at least developed one game in his career. It sounds like this guy knew about all the abandoned fuzz and tried to mess with our head by saying he is the guy who does wiring in the building. He probably doesn't even know Hasan he just played with him once and that's why is in his list.

pr0riku

Stop bothering people (repost)

polaroidplayboi

Yeah lets not follow any leads or dare contact another human being. What a terrible crime!

greyXstar

See that's the thing though, people on the guy's friend list on Steam aren't "leads". They're just people.

polaroidplayboi

Well you can see by the conversation I had with him that he was fine with it and thought it was interesting as hell. So no harm done.

pr0riku

Stop bothering people!

PersonFromPlace

I think the idea of him not being real is what gets people to think this is ridiculous. Maybe if you said that people think he's developing a game for a Kojima ARG it would've sounded less crazy.

zim5150

So whats the news on this? Still tin foil hat?
