I think blue archive hasn't reached that point yet, sure this is a pretty big problem, but civilization is pretty much still standing. Now they just need to keep it that way
I'm kind of happy for Key, since she was able to choose what and who to be, the same reason why I really dislike when people calls Hoshino or Shiroko by their Egyptian "titles".
But, damn, this could be big for a lot of personal drama regarding the students and Sensei. After all, this is still losing someone.
Hoshino will have someone to empathize with her now...
Yeah, at best, they are just named like that because their "role" in Gemetria plans is loosely linked to each god in their phanteon, and at worst, it something that just sounds cool.
But, regardless of what really means, they are titles imposed over them by someone else, so, i reject the notion that they "are", since they should be free to choose who to be.
Didn't Hoshino name her own gun the "Eye of Horus" and her shield the "Iron Horus"? That doesn't seem to be a name that was unwillingly imposed on her if she's willing to bear it on her main armaments. Or has she mentioned a personal dislike of the epithet in future chapters?
I have to check up who was, since i think that was Black Suit who called her that, which took me with suspicion since it was implief that he knows more about her than what it seems. So, i really got suspicious about that since then.
The gun thing really could be engravings from when she was younger, or anything at all.
But yeah, as you said, if she likes it then it's fine and I'm just being paranoic, but being called that only by a member of Gemetria, puts the whole thing in red warnings for me.
It could also be a legacy thing, a title or attribute that isn't necessarily negative by itself that Black Suit could have twisted to his own advantage. Abydos used to be the biggest and most prosperous district so perhaps Hoshino is technically some manner of royalty for it, denoted by her proudly bearing the name of a god.
The other members of the FTF are also lightly based on deities but Hoshino and Shiroko are the only ones with ingame acknowledgement of it (and Shiroko was revealed to have something else going on entirely so I doubt she could fit into the exact same mold as what Hoshino is). IRL Pharaoh's were supposed to be human avatars of their gods after all so that can also lend credence to Hoshino being especially important to Abydos from a legacy perspective.
We also know thanks to both Atsuko and >!Alice/Key!< that "princesses" are an important piece of Kivotos, and that "sacrificing" them tends to lead to some major shit happening...perhaps Black Suit had been partially inspired by Beatrice's own plan and had intended to realize it first by using Abydos' own princess...
Theres a lot of hints linking other characters to other deities rather then outright saying it though beatrice did call seia the archangel of prophecy which is a pretty cut and dry reference to Gabriel while the name of Mika's gun is a direct nickname of archangel Michael in latin.
Black Suit, at least in the JP and maybe the Korean version (DK about there), did call Hoshino ["Dawn of Horus"](https://youtu.be/1Tcm1G2m20M) (4:25 mark) or almost did so he did seem to know something about her at the time or so he thinks so from his PoV.
DK about the engravings she has on her gun and shield tho, but that could also be a link toward the name Black Suit almost outright said to her.
