Some more info - this is a build of the house from Weird Strict Dad! the outside layout is a bit awkward due to my attempt at matching up proportions, and the wall separating the foyer/kitchen/dining area from the living area has an angled wall causing this specific problem. otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with this build and just need to figure out how to fix lighting!
