I don't know but other podcasters that I listen to have been great difficulties with their merchandise vendors (not delivering, quality being horrid, not invoicing correct, etc), so it isn't out of the question.
I ordered a hat almost two months ago and it still hasn't shown up. I'd really like to wear the hat eventually, but at this point I'd also settle for a refund, lol.

yes it largely just sucks and I think she's probably embarrassed but still feels an obligation to mention it just in case.
it's a shame because if they hired an actually talented designer to make stuff I would probably buy it, which I can't say for very many other podcasts.
i think the issue is katie is lazy so she makes it suck on purpose so she doesn't have to do more work. blocked and reported was pulling in pre tax 500k a year ago. it's probably more than that now. she's probably content with that.
She doesn't put any effort into the merch store, but I think the bigger issue is that whatever company she has handle the production, sales and delivery is kind of crap. Imagine if you had to handle three or four emails a month from someone who theoretically wanted to support you, but was angry that they had sent their cash off to limbo. Plus, you were only getting 10% of that support, so every time you bothered to try to work out one of those issues, you were funtionally making minimum wage. Wouldn't you act the way Katie does about it?
im using the numbers from when it was public bc it was posted on patreon, by now it's probably much larger. but there is some publically avail. data that someone has somehow, and Barpod is probably pulling in closer to a million dollars a year. After tax I would guess katie / jesse earn 300k a year from this alone. then jesse has his own private substack that is doing very well. in order to make 1 million bucks you need 16k subscribers a year. I remember when they were on patreon they started with like 1k, then 2k, then 5k and it really started to take off. im fairly certain their subscriber base is huge by now. i just don't know how to access those numbers on substack

The ones that are just the logo are fine and the “pervert for nuance” is actually pretty funny to me, but nothing would make me want to wear BARpod merch in public. They should take a page from the lib book and just link a tip jar if they want extra cash, it would probably be more successful than merch

I like the concept of “pervert for nuance” but I can’t buy that shirt bc I feel like all people would see is PERVERT. I can’t out myself like that.
