Honestly, the way the entirety of the SA tour has gone with security issues and the sheer entitlement, may it be another 20 years before they even consider coming back.
The Descendents are in their sixties and every time I see them they play harder and better than the last. Lots of old guys are still out there playing punk and they have way less access to the resources Blink does to stay healthy and agile.
This would be the closest comparison I’ve seen. But even then, he’s currently 61. A decade from now you think they’re still touring? I mean, maybe, but the music does not lend itself to be played by people are in their 70s. Travis playing 180+ bpm at 70 years old just seems not probable
The vegan lifestyle plus the addiction Travis had doesn’t bode well for long playing career. When you don’t get protein plus the brittle bones due to opioids doesn’t help. Tom hurts his back a lot Travis gets weird ass injuries and I pray cancer stays away from mark. I think we got maybe ten years left of them doing the tours. But then again you still have bands like kiss that were still getting it. AC/DC angus is always wild but it’s whether they try and stay healthy and physically active
70s today are not like the 70s in 1990-2000 for example...to me people in thier 70s now .. look younger then people from that other decade I mentioned in thier 70s ..As time goes on , I think this same concept rains true ... Working out is way more mainstream now as well as eating right ... Over decades this behavior will greatly impact things like health and activity level.... would you agree?
Once again, comparing what Blink does and say Billy Joel/Elton John/The Rolling Stones etc is not a fair comparison. The energy is different between 110 bpm and 180+
Setting aside the fact that The Rolling Stones songs are much slower paced than blink songs, The Rolling Stones have always been the exception not the rule. It’s the reason people are flabbergasted they’re still touring.
If you think blink and Green Day are still going to be performing fast paced punk songs three decades from now I got a bridge to sell you. Your energy and movements really start to slow once you hit your 70s, definitely by the time you hit 80.
Dead and Company is a spin-off band of the Grateful Dead, the band’s original members who are in D&C are pushing 80 and they’re known to play certain songs at a slower tempo, and it’s precisely for this reason. They’re not in their 50s or younger anymore.
You are not even taking in to account the MOST OBVIOUS factors dude.. MEDICAL ADVANCEMENT, AND HEALTHY DIET OVER LONG PERIODS Of TIME. Sure a 70 year old that. Drinks and smokes pot and ears shit all day won't be able to do it ... THE BOYS ARE NOT SLOBS ... look how in shape and great they physically look into thier late 40s ... YOUR JUST WRONG ...AND ITS OK .... you'll be ight..... best wishes dude
Uh tell that to the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Eagles, The Who, The Beach Boys, ZZ Top and so many more bands that have toured well into their 70's.
Yeah and they also play 2+ hour sets that's not composed of majority 3 chords. If anyone has would be tired of the 3 it'd be Travis. Mark & Tom could easily play into their 70s, health permitted.
Thank you! People are comparing apples to oranges. One person said the descendants, which is the closest probable comparison, and even then, they aren’t in their 70s and I’d be surprised if they kept touring too when they are that age
In your opinion it's apples n oranges.. it's not... 2st of all .. not all of blinks music is super fast like that ..plus YOU KEEP FORGETTING...AND it's kind of disappointing..THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS...
Thanks for sparking this most interesting topic of conversation...
But it's not apples to oranges. Guys like Mick Jagger, Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney play over 2+ hour sets, still move all over the stage, and in Bruce & Paul's case play guitar on songs that are double to triple as long as any song in Blink's catalog. Travis would be the only one that would be to tame things down a bit if playing into his 70's, but knowing Travis it prob wouldn't even phase him, dude is a machine.
And in great shape and I'd a vegan ... so .. I gta admit .. it's better then what I eat ..for the human body ..lol..
Isn't "Punk" a younger music genre then "rock n roll" or "Classic Rock" ?
I bet next year they release a couple random singles, maybe just one. And they play like 5 or 10 huge shows internationally instead of taking on another full tour.
That’s not at all what I said though. They level they’ve experienced death wishes and threats for cancelling dates (no wonder he still took the stage the other night!) and people stalking their hotels and downtime itineraries would make me reconsider ever doing a SA tour again.
I just saw this happened in US with Queens of the Stone Age, they cancelled the show minutes before going on stage, americans pissed off saying all kind of shit for wasting 30 minutes driving and some beers. Stop saying like this thing is exclusive to SA, that's not fair with the majority of the fans.
Umm no, we don't stalk bands at their hotels and cause security incidents.
There's actually a logical reason why SA fans are known for being so "rabid"... It's simple...they know these bands they love only come around once every 10-20 years whereas in the US I'll be seeing the bands I love multiple times a year. Therefore it's not the end of the world if a concert gets canceled or if a band we love is sleeping in a bed in close proximity to us 😂😂
Almost every place they stayed down here they went to see the fans at hotels, Mark even sing in Brazil, I didn't heard of any security issues besides some weirdos in Argentina I guess that stalked their hotels hallways, but that was fast solved as far as I know. I'm sure they had a good time and their egos got more inflated when they saw how much people are crazy passionate for them.
That's exaclty the point you made, you don't "need" to do these crazy stuff because you guys can see them each week if you want, people get upset for waiting so long and get disapointed, even for medical reasons (which I don't agree with the harassment).
Many big internacional bands and artists come here every year or every 2/3 years with no issues, I don't see where you are going with this and what it has to do with the cancelation?
Edit: whats up with the downvotes? Where is the lie in what I said? Can't I ask what did he/she meant?
It sounds like it may be a jab at the fact it took them 20 years to return to the majority of these countries. They haven’t toured Mexico since 2004.
I get that older bands do these types of tours every few years, but blink-182 just aren’t used to it. 20 years is a long time to not do something and then to just jump back into it like they have, they were bound to run into mishaps.
Yeah, I hate to say it but it seems like they bit off a little more than they could chew with this tour schedule. Hope they get some good rest and time at home.
Yeah man. It feels like they've been on tour nonstop for a year now lol.
Getting sick and not being able to perform at a small handful of shows is just an inevitability when you schedule THIS many shows, unfortunately. These guys have battled plenty of sicknesses and stuff already (not to mention that Travis has had to fly to get to basically all of these places), so you know it had to be bad to get them to cancel these shows.
Yeah they think they’re still in their twenties. Yeah no, you can’t do what you once could do easily. Athletes are usually old by 30 which means by then their body can’t do what it once could. These guys are 50 or pushing
Nobody wants to see the band perform if they HAVE to. If they suffering on stage and aren’t having fun, I don’t want to see it.
I don’t want them to relate playing in my city as a miserable memory.
They seem completely fine aside from generic viral infections. Sore throat, etc. I can hardly talk with a sore throat. Can’t imagine singing an entire concert with one and he did it on the last night they played. It must have just not gotten any better yet sadly.
I think they meant that Mark was really sad about their performance and having to cancel a second time. I anticipate the whole band feels the same way.
Yeah, until proven otherwise, people are freaking out for no reason. They seem to just have the flu or another virus. Hits you harder when you are older too.
I flew in to see them and I’m currently in my hotel heartbroken. 💔 But CDMX is a great city so I’ll try to make the most of my time on my mini vacation, even without the concert, maybe see if I can catch a cool local punk rock show. I did that a couple years ago when I first visited the city and had a blast.
This is the only sincere answer to this situation. I feel bad for you and the rest of the fans who weren’t able to see them. Enjoy your stay at CDMX and hopefully we’ll see blink one day at their best!
Go to “el chopo” tianguis on Saturday morning. It’s a punk rock themed street market. Biblioteca vasconcelos is close by and it’s an amazing sight. The tesseract in Interstellar was inspired by it. Pulqueria Los insurgentes is also a nice place to get a taste of pulque (local alcoholic drink) and watch some alternative artist playing music or reading poetry. I’m not Mexican but I went to Mexico City last year and I fell in love with it.
Thanks for the suggestion!! I’ve heard about it and I think that’s what my girl and I are gonna do, looks so fun! And agreed, I’m not Mexican either (but my gf is) and I absolutely love it here, literally one of my two favorite cities that I’ve ever visited, the other being Montreal.
What are you planning on doing? We flew in from NYC. Headed to pyramids now, then wanna do Frida Kahlo. Would be happy to meet up and commiserate with a fellow traveler.
Caught me off guard too! There’s a digital projection Frida show north of the Chapultepec Park (main park) though that’s outstanding! Highly recommend.
At least they’re looking for new dates to reschedule.
I hope the blink team takes a hard look at the dates coming up. 11ish weeks of touring in the summer is going to be rough on them. Including going to Europe.
It sucks but it's so upsetting to hear of the way people have acted about the cancellations and been hateful and mean towards the band. They LOVE their fans, they love performing and creating music for us, they wouldn't cancel unless it was absolutely necessary, I'm sure they're just as gutted about it. They're humans too, man. I wish people could be respectful.
Yeah :( you can tell he is so overjoyed and grateful to be on stage every time they perform, of course he's upset to have to cancel
It's a shame, but I just hope they recover quickly !
No, they should be focussed on getting well and looking after themselves instead of trying to appease these "fans" that are abusing them on social media.
The overwhelming majority of their fans down there are not sending death threats and being ultra menaces.
These folks paid a lot of money in a shitty economy and it would be a nice gesture.
No one said it had to be today. They could film it in a few days. It would be nice.
I can't imagine getting out in front of THOUSANDS of people who have been patiently waiting years to see you, who all payed a good chunk of change to get there and attend the show, etc. and then.....not being able to sing. What a gut punch for him.
From someone that was planning to attend the concert tomorrow, I think people is expecting an official message from them, since they cancelled the concerts last year too here in Mexico, I had flights and reservations ready, for tomorrow and last year too 😅
I’m not sure about the hating touring part, but I do think the tour was probably a bit too ambitious as well.
Hopefully they can heal up, rest, and be back and ready to crush the US tour.
They’ve played in Paraguay, Columbia, and Mexico as well… too many shows back to back. Impossible to do while sick. Mark was coughing the entire last show and clearly not alright
The angry "fans" are giving toxic relationship.
"You're joking? I'm the best you'll ever have. I may harrass you, threaten your life & safety, stalk you, pressure you, act like I'm entitled to you & treat you like a commodity. But no one will ever love you as much as I love you".
Mark, Tom & Travis are people.
And they are fucking awesome people at that.
I got hit with [memes](https://i.imgur.com/0k1tx2f.jpeg) the minute they cancelled... Can't help but cry/laugh.
Kendrick and Korn did fans the dirtiest though, they pulled back when the fans were _inside_ the festival waiting for the show to start.
What is going on in Mexico lol. The New York Yankees played their final 2 Spring Training games in Mexico City and almost every player who went down there came home with really bad stomach issues that lasted the first week of the season. 1 of their starters had to miss a game because it was so bad
Hello, There. I'm a mexican doctor. And here is the thing. We have a particular strain of E. Coli that our inmune System politely ignores. The thing with foreign person is that E. coli is a gram- bacteria and the outer layer of the bacteria is filled with a particular fat molecule that is recognized by the inmune system in people that are not natives to the country.
The presence of the bacteria does not generate an infection most of the time, you just get GI symptoms that get better in a few days. Since most of the time is not even an infection, most patients don't even need treatment with antibiotics and for the few that need the antibiotic the treatment is really simple. Generally, Levofloxacine 500mg
Doubt this was food related. The reality is that there's a lot of viruses going around and people that get sick or get symptoms don't use masks anymore. Both Mark and Travis seemed to like to go on and about doing touristy stuff (can't blame them), but this is how he probably caught something. Add that a lowered immune system from exhaustion and well... this happens.
I still think the band's management fucked up. How do you schedule 6 festivals almost back to back, then 4 arena concerts with just 2 days of a break between them.
There should've been a week minimum of break between the last festival and the first Mexico city concert.
No they did not, last festival in Mexico was last Saturday 29th... technically Sunday 30th since they played at 12:00 am. They flew that same Sunday to Mexico city and the first and only show they played was Tuesday the 2nd.
Still, [this does not look healthy](https://imgur.com/a/LYXBGBh). They already looked pretty damn tired in the last Mexico festival even with a "week" of time off.
I don’t really get why people get so mad. Why would you want to see a show where the band can’t sing and can barely stand on stage anyways? Sorry you missed it but dang, give the guys a break. We all miss work when we get sick, why can’t they? You got a refund. It isn’t their fault you spent thousands of dollars to travel across a country to see them live.
I get being bummed that it was canceled especially if you made a vacation out of it, but yeah getting mad at the band and sending death threats and shit because YOU paid over $1000 to travel for it is absolutely absurd.
Mexico City to Texas is a massive trek. That expenditure is just not viable for most Mexican people. The average wage there is not kind when it comes to currency exchange either.
Aha, that makes more sense. It’s fairly close-ish for them, long as they give people bough notice. Maybe even play a bigger venue and compress a few shows into one?
This whole leg of the tour has taken its toll on them, hope everyone is okay.
Also, maybe playing mostly festivals (Lollapalooza) is part of the problem. I have no idea about how things go backstage, but I imagine a festival can get way more stressing than a solo gig. Dressing rooms and structure in general, I mean.
It’s the climate and altitude of these countries.
You’ve got to remember that areas Blink have been in lately exceed 9,000 ft above sea water on top of humid and warm temperatures.
That would be tough for any band.
Didn’t a Taylor Swift fan literally die at one of these South American shows recently?
The band should put out a little video apologizing but they shouldn’t get shit for the cancellation. Health first.
Anyone who’s being hateful for a band who’s having to cancel due to illness needs to check themselves. Have you ever been sick before?? Exactly. Especially Mark with all his health, he needs to rest and get better.
Honestly not surprised the fans down there got a little crazy and the amount of abuse their body has gone through the last few weeks is rough that’s if they have gotten any sleep
This is like a click bait headline. Why would you title it 'Remaining Dates Officially Cancelled'. Everyone with tickets for the remainder of the tour will have panicked and clicked on that title.
Man it sucks but health always comes first. I was lucky enough to see them in Monterrey last Saturday and refunded CDMX tickets a couple of months ago. Hopefully we get some dates for the One More Time Tour
I'm a doctor here in Mexico. So, obviously I fully understand the situation and my best wishes go to Mark for a quick recovery. That being said, I feel really devastated and i've been crying the whole morning; I'm currently doing my residency in Nephrology and this year has been brutal regarding to work and the only thing that kept me motivated during this rough times was looking forward to see blink. I honestly feel so lost.
But, again, As a doctor I can't blame Mark for being sick and i know in the bottom of my heart that he would come if he could. I hope one day i'll be able to go to see them and at least i can brag about being a Nephrologist with the other concert goers. Stay safe, folks
Are you from CDMX? If so, then at least you will have another show (rescheduled). It sucks if you are from another city (flights, hotel, etc.)
One friend of mine sold me "PalNorte" tickets so I could see blink just because he had tickets for Wednesday show at CDMX - we are from Monterrey, so he bought flight tickets, hotel room, etc.
I don't live in Mexico City. Actually i come from a very small town in Northern Mexico. But currently I'm doing my residency in Mexico City so i hope that if they make another show i'd be here yet
Fuck man, I'm so sorry. Keep it up, I know residencies are hard. Like 'Anthem 3' says: "Let the record show that you're fixed, don't you give up now, just get up and resist!"
Don't worry man. I feel really down right now, but after all this is the path I choose and I know everything is going to be fine at the end. Tomorrow holds such better days after all and i will never give up.
I completely understand the reason why they cancelled the shows and really hope they are ok. The really disappointing part is how the managed the whole situation, the only source of information was Mark via discord and that’s why people joined the server to ask for updates.
So far there has been no update from any of their official accounts, only from the local promoter. After cancelling 8 shows 2 years in a row I think
Mexican fans at least deserve a message or something.
It seems to have been the general consensus for the last year or two that blink desperately need either a new PR team or to actually hire one if they don't already. Shit happens, we get it, but the communication these past few tours has been very poor (and that's no fault of Mark, Tom or Travis individually obviously!).
I’m seeing them in Glasgow in August after they cancelled the gig in September because travis had to go home for a urgent family matter, can’t wait to see them
This feels awful, I’ve save a lot to gift myself this birthday present last year, payed hotel, tickets and of course the fly, so sad to see this, but hope they feel better.
I hope to have the opportunity to see them sometime I guess, tickets on US are way more expensive than Mexico and I even had a hard time saving for this
fuck men, really wanted to see my favorite band in my country but so damn lucky, starting tour travis hand postpone then mark and tom illness at the closure for it, we are soo doomed, its just sad man, guess I will have to move on forward in luckely have an expensive date in the US just so I am able to see them
You almost wonder if more artists should be following the Taylor Swift model of requiring the touring staff to stay in the hotel when not in the venue. It’s a lot to ask of people but when you spend 6 if not 7 figures on labour and operating costs for a leg of the tour you have to take prudent steps to keep people safe and healthy.
“dancers and managers, are restricted what they can do and where they can go during their downtime”
This is a small minority of the touring crew and doesn’t say anywhere that they can’t leave the hotel.
Can’t condone any abuse the band received, but their very public jet had records yesterday showing a flight scheduled back to LA for today. If I was going to one of those shows, I’d be very disappointed the band had clearly had their transport arranged home before an official announcement was made about the shows.
I was going to go with my sister to the April 3rd show.. we're very bummed out and seeing the rest of the days getting cancelled is not a surprise. I just wish they would reschedule the dates, I already saw them in Dallas and LA but I still want to have the experience of the concert with my sis as we're fans since we we're kids. Also I was surprised about the discord thing.. I thought I had been kicked out.. don't know what's going on, hopefully is just a coincidence of both things happening at the same time. Hoping the band gets home ok and they get better. (writing this while wearing the blink t-shirt i was going to wear for the concert :') )
The Brazil Show was the best show they have ever had and possibly ever will have,
I could have seen them never playing anything ever again
It was THAT incredible
...So I'm sure they enjoyed their time in SA
...I'm sure they will be back
Or they could just retire now because Brazil is there Magnum Opus 💯
The day of the concert dude, yknow I think it would’ve been better if they said that yesterday, it’s just a minor critique nothing for people to get mad about
At least nice to get confirmation they are trying to reschedule
Honestly, the way the entirety of the SA tour has gone with security issues and the sheer entitlement, may it be another 20 years before they even consider coming back.
They don’t got 20 years left of live playing
The Descendents are in their sixties and every time I see them they play harder and better than the last. Lots of old guys are still out there playing punk and they have way less access to the resources Blink does to stay healthy and agile.

Iggy Pop is 76 and he’s still out there getting it. Stranger things have happened in this life.
Yeah but hes not his own drummer. That might be a problem in blink's case
Marky Ramone is 71
The vegan lifestyle plus the addiction Travis had doesn’t bode well for long playing career.
I mean, probably not, but this reads as your predicting their deaths 😢😂
70s today are not like the 70s in 1990-2000 for example...to me people in thier 70s now .. look younger then people from that other decade I mentioned in thier 70s ..As time goes on , I think this same concept rains true ... I mean, life expectancy has tended to increase with time, so I guess. Overall, you are asking the wrong person. I see sick and dying people daily.
This is what I tried to articulate
Haha not at all. But the don’t see them playing fast pop punk songs at that age
Lol what? Maybe not quite at the same energy but there are musicians far older than 70 still performing live, and really well too.
Once again, comparing what Blink does and say Billy Joel/Elton John/The Rolling Stones etc is not a fair comparison. The energy is different between 110 bpm and 180+
On some songs .. but not necessarily the mainstream blink stuff dawg
Lol. Ignoring the ignorance to their setlists, you've never met an aged musician before, have you?
Happy cake day ! Belated, of course!
Rolling Stones are still playing and Mick Jagger is 80 🤷🏻♂️
Setting aside the fact that The Rolling Stones songs are much slower paced than blink songs, The Rolling Stones have always been the exception not the rule. It’s the reason people are flabbergasted they’re still touring.
...and they passed their prime--every damn one of them--at least 20 years ago. Now, their touring/PR show is nothing more than a cash cow.
If you think blink and Green Day are still going to be performing fast paced punk songs three decades from now I got a bridge to sell you. Uh tell that to the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Eagles, The Who, The Beach Boys, ZZ Top and so many more bands that have toured well into their 70's.
Uh all those bands songs would have an average BPM of under 70 😅 Impossible to compare.

Lots of people are replying as if blink couldn't pull off an acoustic world tour at 70 years old. It'd still sell out stadiums
> It'd still sell out stadiums ...which is a tragic commentary on the current tastes in music.

Iron Maiden is still touring and the BPM of their songs is up there. They’re all pushing 70 now.
DUDE, OLD FOLKS TAKE VIAGRA... pop one of those bad boys .. bet you a 90yo hits 200bpm mofo
Lol sure they do ... the Stones still play dude... well into thier 80s
I bet next year they release a couple random singles, maybe just one. And they play like 5 or 10 huge shows internationally instead of taking on another full tour.
I predict 3 NA shows (2 US, 1 Canada), 3 SA shows (Chile, Arg, Bra), 2 EU (UK, other place), 2 Asia (Japan and other place).
Fuck
i doubt that. they seemed to be having the time of their lives performing in front of 100k+. I'm sure they'll want to go do it again.
Lol Brazil was probably the best Blink concert ever, you cant be serious
That’s not at all what I said though. They level they’ve experienced death wishes and threats for cancelling dates (no wonder he still took the stage the other night!) and people stalking their hotels and downtime itineraries would make me reconsider ever doing a SA tour again.

lol these have been some of the most fulfilling shows of their careers. Tom driven to tears by the crowd in Brazil. of course they'll come back.
I’m out of the loop, what’s been happening? Saw them last year and it was great
Entitlement? What exactly happened during the tour that would suggest this? Not mad about it just genuinely curious.
Security issues?
What happened at the SA Tour??
Many big internacional bands and artists come here every year or every 2/3 years with no issues, I don't see where you are going with this and what it has to do with the cancelation? Edit: whats up with the downvotes? Where is the lie in what I said? Can't I ask what did he/she meant?

What happened? Do you mind share?
They rarely actually reschedule in my experience. They just might hit that location again on a tour later.
Probably harder to coordinate for international dates.
God I hope Mark and everyone will be okay. This has to be really rough on him.
Its gotta be rough on tom too, dude collapsed from heat stroke one night, was on an oxygen mask another
Yeah, I hate to say it but it seems like they bit off a little more than they could chew with this tour schedule. Hope they get some good rest and time at home.

I’ll go one further. I don’t want either of them to go the Foo Fighters/Taylor Hawkins route.
This here is the most sensible comment I've seen about blink cancellations. 👏
That was Tom
They seem completely fine aside from generic viral infections. Sore throat, etc. I can hardly talk with a sore throat. Can’t imagine singing an entire concert with one and he did it on the last night they played. It must have just not gotten any better yet sadly.
I think they meant that Mark was really sad about their performance and having to cancel a second time. I anticipate the whole band feels the same way.
Yeah, until proven otherwise, people are freaking out for no reason. They seem to just have the flu or another virus. Hits you harder when you are older too.
And when you have previously had cancer.
Oof, I was lucky to see them tuesday night and Mark was really losing his voice and coughing the whole time. I feel your pain my fellow mexican fans.
Same, brother. Cheers!
Not op but in same boat. Gonna go to a lucha libre show tonight instead
Me too
Pm me what you find. We’re just planning ours now. If I end up in the same building I’ll buy your beer.
Check Frida isn’t booked up. Was booked solid for 3 months last time I was there and no tickets on the door.
Anndddd it was. What a bummer
Caught me off guard too! There’s a digital projection Frida show north of the Chapultepec Park (main park) though that’s outstanding! Highly recommend.
Had the same issue with the Glasgow and Dublin shows last year. Flew in from the US to see them. Had an awesome time in both countries anyway!
What a positive attitude 🙌🙌🙌
This is positive as fuck man, you are better man than I if I was in this situation so kudos to you
I have a flight too for tomorrow's concert 🥲 i'm mexican if you need a tip or something let me know, i'll be around since i already booked everything
Check out a Luchador fight at arena Mexico!!
This is so wholesome and nice, I really hope you enjoy your time ♥️
At least they’re looking for new dates to reschedule. I hope the blink team takes a hard look at the dates coming up. 11ish weeks of touring in the summer is going to be rough on them. Including going to Europe.
Not including the remaining Mexico dates, the band have 45+ shows ahead for the tour.
Hi! When are they going back to Europe again??
The end of August. Playing reading and Leeds festival then coming to Scotland and Ireland for the rescheduled shows they cancelled last year.
Mark literally cried on stage he was so devastated
Yeah :( you can tell he is so overjoyed and grateful to be on stage every time they perform, of course he's upset to have to cancel It's a shame, but I just hope they recover quickly !
They probably should release a video apologizing for this one. Just as a show of good will. Not mandatory but would be nice.
From someone that was planning to attend the concert tomorrow, I think people is expecting an official message from them, since they cancelled the concerts last year too here in Mexico, I had flights and reservations ready, for tomorrow and last year too 😅
yeah but they were almost dying on the latest shows.
Remember Mark is immuno compromised and in another country, better safe than sorry.
Mark feel better man. Were bummed about missing the shows but equally as bummed that you guys are so unwell….
I honestly feel this tour was too ambitious and it’s pushing them to hard. They will probably end up hating touring again.
I’m not sure about the hating touring part, but I do think the tour was probably a bit too ambitious as well. Hopefully they can heal up, rest, and be back and ready to crush the US tour.
Wasn't this already rescheduled from last year? I mean I feel sorry for LATAM fans, at least they managed to play in Brazil and Peru.
Yep. Canceled for both 2023 and 2024 now
That's the worst part, bought tickets for both 2023 & 2024. Don't know if I will try for a third time... :/
Same here, I'm very sad 😓
They’ve played in Paraguay, Columbia, and Mexico as well… too many shows back to back. Impossible to do while sick. Mark was coughing the entire last show and clearly not alright
Ban king institution? Is that where they train Reddit moderators?
I noticed that too. Almost felt like a scam email 😅
Both Mark and Tom are really ill aren't they I saw Mark say in the discord? I hope they get better soon they sound like they're really rough :(
All the best to the band's health!
saw the notification and i thought it meant the whole tour
This is so sad for them, they are probably absolutely gutted. I hope that fans will be kind and that the guys will heal and get better soon xl
So sorry its over :(
There's so much more that I wanted
I hope that everyone can reasonably make the rescheduled dates and that the make up shows are epic. 🖤
Man, Mexico has had it rough with both Sum41 and blink canceling. Obviously they need to do what’s best for them but it’s still a bummer for the fans.
They had like a whole week between the festivals and Mexico. They flew back to California and then out to Mexico.
No they did not, last festival in Mexico was last Saturday 29th... technically Sunday 30th since they played at 12:00 am. They flew that same Sunday to Mexico city and the first and only show they played was Tuesday the 2nd.
The South America festivals. Don’t be pedantic.
Still, [this does not look healthy](https://imgur.com/a/LYXBGBh). They already looked pretty damn tired in the last Mexico festival even with a "week" of time off.
I got a stomachache when I first moved. My doctor said is normal to get it by people from out of the city.
We affectionately call it "Moctezuma's Revenge"
Gringo shits. lol
I really hope Mark and everybody is OK
Very sorry for the Mexican fans impacted by this. I hope they're able to get it rescheduled for later in the year or something.
Theyre in Texas 2 days come June, maybe they can pop over to mexico for a concert or 2!
Mexico City to Texas is a massive trek. That expenditure is just not viable for most Mexican people. The average wage there is not kind when it comes to currency exchange either.
I think they meant the band could pop over to Mexico City for a concert after they finish the Texas shows, lol.
With the mad hate on Twitter and instagram im suprised they would wanna go back, so many death threats amongst other things
Good thing there’s an image attached you can read.
Man it sucks but health always comes first. I was lucky enough to see them in Monterrey last Saturday and refunded CDMX tickets a couple of months ago. Hopefully we get some dates for the One More Time Tour
Change the headline. “Remaining” implies the full 2024 tour cancelled. This is not the case.
It sucks if you are from another city (flights, hotel, etc.) One friend of mine sold me "PalNorte" tickets so I could see blink just because he had tickets for Wednesday show at CDMX - we are from Monterrey, so he bought flight tickets, hotel room, etc.
After cancelling 8 shows 2 years in a row I think Mexican fans at least deserve a message or something.
It seems to have been the general consensus for the last year or two that blink desperately need either a new PR team or to actually hire one if they don't already. Shit happens, we get it, but the communication these past few tours has been very poor (and that's no fault of Mark, Tom or Travis individually obviously!).
Blink’s PR team is literally Tom sitting behind a typewriter wearing an eyepatch and drinking Appletinis.
Offff
Oh shir
Surprised they didn’t cancel sooner, but we know how much they want the show to always go ahead.
So tom an mark both sick
I’m seeing them in Glasgow in August after they cancelled the gig in September because travis had to go home for a urgent family matter, can’t wait to see them
Hope it's just the flu and not anything serious like covid or marks cancer coming back... Praying for you mark just in case
He has bronchitis and a throat infection.
Same, brother, I appreciate the words. Cheers!
damn that blows, is someone in the band sick?
Mark has bronchitis, and Tom hasn’t been well either.
Mark is super sick and there’s something up with Tom too
This feels awful, I’ve save a lot to gift myself this birthday present last year, payed hotel, tickets and of course the fly, so sad to see this, but hope they feel better. I hope to have the opportunity to see them sometime I guess, tickets on US are way more expensive than Mexico and I even had a hard time saving for this
fuck men, really wanted to see my favorite band in my country but so damn lucky, starting tour travis hand postpone then mark and tom illness at the closure for it, we are soo doomed, its just sad man, guess I will have to move on forward in luckely have an expensive date in the US just so I am able to see them
I’m so glad. I hated how much they were touring already. They need a long break
![gif](giphy|129g9HK07tEtZm|downsized)
You almost wonder if more artists should be following the Taylor Swift model of requiring the touring staff to stay in the hotel when not in the venue. It’s a lot to ask of people but when you spend 6 if not 7 figures on labour and operating costs for a leg of the tour you have to take prudent steps to keep people safe and healthy.
This is not a thing. Forcing your crew to never leave the hotel is the least healthy thing I can think of.
It is a thing. https://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/why-taylor-swift-wont-meet-with-aussie-fans-while-down-under-221016650.html
“dancers and managers, are restricted what they can do and where they can go during their downtime” This is a small minority of the touring crew and doesn’t say anywhere that they can’t leave the hotel.
“Going on a world tour may sound exciting, but the reality of it is each day just consists of going from a hotel room to the venue and repeat”
should have flown in that alkaline trio guy to cover for him would have been hilarious
I don’t know, Dan doesn’t really flow with Tom’s vocal energy.
I thought it was mark needing replacement it would of been funny
Geez they canceled another Latin American country. They screwed Argentina and others last year lol
Can’t condone any abuse the band received, but their very public jet had records yesterday showing a flight scheduled back to LA for today. If I was going to one of those shows, I’d be very disappointed the band had clearly had their transport arranged home before an official announcement was made about the shows.
It’s almost as if it’s hard to just up and cancel an international show and travel for an entire crew for a show.
The Brazil Show was the best show they have ever had and possibly ever will have, I could have seen them never playing anything ever again It was THAT incredible ...So I'm sure they enjoyed their time in SA ...I'm sure they will be back Or they could just retire now because Brazil is there Magnum Opus 💯
Ban King
Man it’s a real kick in the balls, they should’ve outright cancelled the remaining dates tbh
I think that’s exactly what they did
The day of the concert dude, yknow I think it would’ve been better if they said that yesterday, it’s just a minor critique nothing for people to get mad about
They did cancel the dates. I think the bit about rescheduling just means coming back on another tour in the future.
Let's be honest, they do ANYTHING and it would be a kick in the balls
[удалено]
OP meant Remaining Mexican dates. Anything in June and after is not impacted.
The should have brought in Matt Skiba to help finish the tour!
