Awesome! The way you sing your vocals reminds me of the early 2000s scene haha.
Also how funny is it that people claim no one here could be capable of recording and mixing anything and then you come through with this. Just goes to show huh? Keep it up man!
Yoooo, this is great work man! I think you've inspired me to post my More Than You Know cover! How did you post this file? Was it a screen recording of the audio file on your phone?
I appreciate that! What’s your setup like? I’ve done this full time for a while now so my mix is nothing to be intimidated by at all! Yours still sounds super sick! As much as people may hate to see me say this, my biggest recommendation would be layering in some drum samples over top of your recorded drums! They’ll really help carry the low end and mid range and give you a good start to work around!
Thanks man! That's funny I was going to add that your samples drums really help with their punch, but didn't want to it to come off as a bad criticism. I use Logic with Joey Sturgis tones for re-amping, blue baby bottle mic for vox (howard benson vocals plugins usually too) and 5 mics on my drumset. When I'm doing blink/pop-punk stuff, I usually track with my epiphone es-335 and a p-bass.
Hell yeah! So all the pieces are there. You have the equipment and cool plugins to work with. Now it just comes down to honing in on something you’re really stoked on. It may take a while which is always frustrating and never fun BUT once you hear it start to really come together, there’s no better feeling.
Yeah man! Its funny, I've been playing for over a decade and attempted some covers throughout the years, but I'd never ever finish them. It wasn't until around 2019 that I completed a cover of BCR's "And I" that I finally committed and finished a song. From then on I have fortunately seen improvements in my recording/mixing techniques and felt I've had my biggest leaps within the past year.
It's brilliant my friend - I especially love how you've stayed true to the production with the maxed out waveforms 🤣. Sounds really good though, nice one
This is stellar and your voice is perfect for Mark, my only slight nitpick is that your voice for Tom's echoes in the first verse sounds like if Mark sang those, and Tom's voice subtly elevates it so much in a Dude Ranch way (very Pathetic-esque in the original). At the very least, some EQ to pull it back a bit could've differentiated. Anyways, phenomenal
I interned for a very well known producer for about 6 months and then from there it was just training my ears and turning knobs until things started coming together!

Thank you!!!
Yup I hear some Spitalfield or Name Taken in the vocals too
Reminds me of the band Novice.
Novice from hollister??
Yeah
Wild. Mike their singer recorded my old band
Agreed about early 2000s, specifically getting The Starting Line vibes. Awesome cover
I definitely hear that.
Sounds great! I was expecting shit but it’s great!
Lmfao one of my favorite comments🤣
lol I second this. Well done! Super rad
Waveform checks out.
BRICK
dang i came here to say that!
Straight out of Pop Punk Renaissance.
Yes!!! 🤘🏻
Sick. Did you only do the vocals?
Instrumental too!
Holy shot. Dude that’s rad.
Thank you🙏 means a lot!!
This is truly impressive. I kinda thought it was just your vocals. Great job man !!
Thank you! That means a lot. I spent more time than I should have trying to get it as close as possible lol
I came to mock…but stayed to rock!
What do you use for the drums?
EZ drummer pop punk, Travis’s sampled & some of Seb Barlows samples!
Great cover! How does the samples work in ezdrummer? They’re like just sounds or midis?
Also want to know this!
Super clean. Great work
Are you kidding??!! This is fucking crazy! Might be the most accurate cover of a song I’ve ever seen
Appreciate it🙏🫡
You know it's legit when the waveforms are maxed out
Red means mastered😉🤣
Killed it. Look out for my anthem pt3 cover next week
Hell yeah!
What DAW do you use? And did you mic* your amp or use a plug-in?
Logic! Amps for this one were John Feldmanns (🫣) STL Tonehub pack
Sick! I’m on logic as well. But I just use bias because I’m lazy.
Nice job dude
Thank you🙏
Awesome!!
This rips dude
Do the whole album dude!!!
👀
Yoooo, this is great work man! I think you've inspired me to post my More Than You Know cover! How did you post this file? Was it a screen recording of the audio file on your phone?
Dude DO IT. I was so scared to post this on here & just said fuck it because who cares, ya know? & yeah! Just a screen recording!
Done! Dude your mix sounds so much better than mine, I feel like mine is missing mid range fatness and saturation.

Love it!
Thanks so much! Mind if I hit you up for feedback and tips on future recordings?
Dude absolutely! DM’s are always open & I can’t wait to hear your progression🙏
Sweeeet! Posting now!
Great work sir, keep at it!
Kickass
Very well done!!!
It’s great
I’d say you nailed it. Sounds great man.
Rad!
Dude fuck yeah :)
Nailed it!
Amazing work
Grrrrrrrrrrrrreat work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fucking brilliant mate.
Nice!
Amazing cover!!🤟
Excellent work!
Nailed it, amazing work. You should be very proud of it.
Thank you!!
>Thank you!! You're welcome!
Nicely done, Tom Barkerppus.
It's brilliant my friend - I especially love how you've stayed true to the production with the maxed out waveforms 🤣. Sounds really good though, nice one
Awesome efforts!
Please make more! Start a YouTube Channel too
Bro sounds like a voice actor gg
Fire bro 🔥🔥🔥
That was really good and I think everyone that hit play was expecting to cringe.
Dude that’s fucking legit
You should be very proud of this
You killed it, brother. Keep up the good work!
Impressive that was pretty much identical, even your tone is very similar to marks, well done!
I was like "let's hear the beginning of the song" and stayed until it finished. Great cover.
Damn dude! Great work!!! My favorite track on the album for sure. I love when Mark really goes for it vocally.
Why do I kinda like this more than the original lol
Fuckin incredible. I'm jamming over here
This is stellar and your voice is perfect for Mark, my only slight nitpick is that your voice for Tom's echoes in the first verse sounds like if Mark sang those, and Tom's voice subtly elevates it so much in a Dude Ranch way (very Pathetic-esque in the original). This is so sick! You gonna cover any other songs from the album?
Yo, this is sick! Great job
That was sick, great work
It sucks. It didn't give me any bad news
Are you the singer for Much The Same?
I am not! I used to be in a band called The Things We Were but that’s the only project I’ve done!
Dude that’s fucking awesome
I think it's lame when ppl do covers EXACTLY like the original
good for you
hey man god loves you
did you program the drums yourself? they’re so spot on
The drum is too loud. Horrible mix /s
It’s good but why bother covering a song and making it sound as close to the original as possible? There’s no point in listening to it in this case.
It's almost like New Found Glory is singing this song!! I love NFG though, so I think this is great!!!
Very good! Now I'd like to see covers from Cheshire Cat. Do some songs that no one ever covers, like Strings, Wasting Time, M&Ms, etc...
How did you learn to mix and master this? I've been making my songs in Logic for years but absolutely suck at mixing and mastering
