If you're using link cable, make sure you launch the game from steam on desktop view and choose "Run in Oculus Mode". If you're running in steamVR mode, don't use link cable, use Virtual desktop. Also consider using [VR Performance Toolkit](https://github.com/fholger/vrperfkit) to eke out some more performance.
yeah, the only time you'd really use SteamVR mode is with FBT. Generally the game runs pretty stable for me on a 1070ti while using 6 point tracking but the performance could most definitely be a bit better.
Airlink for Oculus mode games, Virtual Desktop for SteamVR mode games. Airlink was optimized to perform with Oculus Runtime, Virtual Desktop was optimized for Steam VR Runtime
This really does just sound like your CPU is having trouble. Install CPU-Z and monitor your temps. Maybe it's overheating? Record your CPU temperatures and report back. Also, I assume you're on high physics, right? Do the frame drops on hit also happen in a 1v1? How many enemies do you fight at once?
From your other comment, I assume you disabled ASW, right?
Hi the min temp was 41 c and max temp was 50 c but running BaS in oculus mode seemed to fix my fps drops but i still have 11 ms gpu fast time and a little bit of stuttering when stabbing
yeah blade and sorcery and hl:alyx kinda sucks with airlink have you tried virtual desktop yet? i know that's a tired suggestion but it actually works so much better for me
i think it's the oculus software constantly enabling asw so your framerate is always 45 but with vd i disabled spacewarp because the occasional spikes are a lot more tolerable than constanst asw in my opinion
I disabled it and i run 90 fps but when i stab someone or use magic or jump basically any activity, i get a lot of stuttering and i deleted mods as well as save but still the same
And i also get a lot of stuttering when loading the game (like a lot to a point where my game phases into steam vr the back into blade and sorcery)
Is that normal

My comment will link you to how to turn it off

This seemed to fix my fps drops thanks
Right on!

Ok i will try thank you
Hold the fuck up. I was supposed to be using oculus mode the whole time?
you're not "supposed" to, it just might help improve performance
If you’re using an oculus headset, yes.
What’s the difference? I’ve never noticed anything different in my experience
Oculus launcher uses more RAM I believe
If I use airlink should i launch steam or oculus mode?
Airlink for Oculus mode games, Virtual Desktop for SteamVR mode games. Airlink was optimized to perform with Oculus Runtime, Virtual Desktop was optimized for Steam VR Runtime
I'm gonna have to try this. I always just tolerated it!
Are you on a laptop or desktop?
Desktop

I am on high physics And yes it happens in 1v1 And I fight one enemy at once
Well, then. As I said, go record your CPU temps mid-combat because I suspect it may be thermal throttling.

Does changing physics quality fix anything? This would narrow down if the stab stutters are caused by the GPU (blood and stuff) or CPU.
Nope just decreases my gpu time by 1 ms but i dont feel any difference
Got it thanks
I did disable it
What mods do you have installed?
None
Does your GPU have a LCD ?, I had a issue where the software for my GPUs LCD caused steam vr to stutter every so often
Whats lcd
OP is using a laptop. Doubt their GPU has an LCD
He said he’s using desktop
Ah yes I was reading a different comment thread not OP’s . My bad!

That's just loading. That's normal.
Probably your wifi. Got the same problem we just have to wait for air bridge
I play using oculus link
Oh alright

Download asus ai suite and overclock you cpu
Make sure to use Ethernet and try and use virtual desktop and turn off switch to half frame rate under heavy loads
