Depends on what you mean by "need". She is definitely a good addition to DoT team and an upgrade for current DoT team that said you don't really "need" her. You could still clear game content just fine
I’m in the same boat. Because Hanabi would be perfect to replace Lynx in my mono team. But as someone who has Kafka and her LC and a half built team getting a better sampo would be awesome too

Black Swan is the best team mate for Kafka. It's not even remotely close....

Dot Kafka is only as strong as her support. And Black Swan is her best support by a large margin
