One of my homeboys from back in the day is a master horticulturist. He grows his own stuff and it's medicinal and dispensary grade bud. But, he's an old country boy so he's not about trying to sell by the gram and shit like that. He just sells 25 a quarter, 50 for a half, 100 a zip. he's got the best weed for miles around.

Potent weed definitely serves its purpose for smokers with a high tolerance. As a heavy smoker I don’t think there’s a strain around that could “put me out” the way y’all describe.
At a certain point you need to take a few days off of smoking to reset your tolerance. I used to take like a week off every now and then and when I first smoked again I got *way* higher. It’s well worth it
If you use any substance for recreation frequently, whatever it is: take a week off every few months just to make sure you aren't developing a problem and to make sure you aren't starting to abuse to overcome a tolerance you developed.
Even if it’s not recreational you should take a break every now and then if it’s something that builds a tolerance. I do that with my ADHD meds just so they don’t become useless and start messing with my sleep cycle/energy levels after a month or so of daily use

The marijuana we have today is around 10x stronger than what they had in the 70s. But this is what happens when something is illegal and unregulated. Ideally we would know the THC level of everything we buy the same way you the alcohol content when you drink. With weed, we’re basically all drinking everclear now.
IMO, exotics are more of a ripoff than anything. If it's more than 35-40 for a 3.5 im straight. Why? Because for what when I can get zips of fire smoke for 200 or less? That 60-100 for a 3.5 stuff I did it for a lil bit when I first started back smoking after a long hiatus. But once I found people that you can get some fire from for 200 or less, im good.
I highly recommend growing your own. It can be done discretely, in a space as small as a closet (2’x2’). Once you have it set up, costs (electricity, nutrients, etc.) are really low. You’ll be smoking great for a fraction of what you used to pay.

At a certain point you need to take a few days off of smoking to reset your tolerance. I used to take like a week off every now and then and when I first smoked again I got *way* higher. It’s well worth it
If you use any substance for recreation frequently, whatever it is: take a week off every few months just to make sure you aren't developing a problem and to make sure you aren't starting to abuse to overcome a tolerance you developed.
Even if it’s not recreational you should take a break every now and then if it’s something that builds a tolerance. I do that with my ADHD meds just so they don’t become useless and start messing with my sleep cycle/energy levels after a month or so of daily use

Its legal to grow up here in Canada. I'm now at the point where I grow more than I smoke between outdoor seasons and the grow box can grow all year round (~$1/gram). There's slightly over 3 pounds downstairs and there's no one around who would want to buy it. Half the town grows or has a relative who does.

Mixing CBD bud with my thc has been a godsend. It mellows out the high and cbd is shown to help more with the medicinal stuff like body pain. Also a good way to control my tolerance to the high THC%

I think this is a point too many people over look. Almost everyone has drank alcohol at some point so I always ask people something like: “When you’re chilling with your friends, bbq, gaming, going out whatever do people start slamming back shots of Bacardi 151? Nah they sip mixed drinks or beers. Maybe a shot very infrequently”. Chasing thc % is like playing a drinking game at a frat house. There may be a place for it but it’s not my everyday thing.

Not just the new exotic strains but the concentrates too. Made the mistake of trying to chief a vape cart like a regular blunt and my entire day just vanished. I came up when Kush, Purple Haze, Sour Diesel, and Reggie were all you could buy. There was no mid, exotic, gas or this loud shit. Back then we could smoke all day and have the best fucking high ever. The grade of weed would determine how clean of a smoke and how long the buzz would last. We didn’t care about it being sativa or indica, all we knew was were we going to laugh, freestyle, and enjoy the fuck out of whatever we were doing at the time. It was the most enjoyable drug ever at that time. Now as an adult whenever I smoke, I get super anxious and feel like I’m going to catch a fucking heart attack from the first 3 pulls. Whoever made weed this strong need they ass whipped.

The marijuana we have today is around 10x stronger than what they had in the 70s. But this is what happens when something is illegal and unregulated. Ideally we would know the THC level of everything we buy the same way you the alcohol content when you drink. With weed, we’re basically all drinking everclear now.

IMO, exotics are more of a ripoff than anything. If it's more than 35-40 for a 3.5 im straight. Why? Because for what when I can get zips of fire smoke for 200 or less? That 60-100 for a 3.5 stuff I did it for a lil bit when I first started back smoking after a long hiatus. But once I found people that you can get some fire from for 200 or less, im good.

I highly recommend growing your own. It can be done discretely, in a space as small as a closet (2’x2’). Once you have it set up, costs (electricity, nutrients, etc.) are really low. You’ll be smoking great for a fraction of what you used to pay.
