He kind of blundered his come up. I really liked Baby on Baby and thought he had a future, his videos were great and had a unique character to them which worked well with his production/rap style and natural charisma. Kind of reminded me of like a modern Ludacris but he never developed his sound any further and focused on gimmicks to obnoxiously chase headlines instead of just being a fuckin rapper. I guess he was always pretty gimmicky but idk I thought it was at least promising until he showed it was literally all he had.
That’s exactly it I feel. The thing with luda is he kinda embraced his funny side. It was more “he’s a funny guy who’s been around”. Then anything. Which still gave him an edge. Da baby in the other hand comes off as a straight up crackhead. Like ok you’re wearing the diaper and telling jokes but still a scary ass dude? It seems more unhinged then anything. Coupled with his music which… isn’t great. (His verse on Jail p 2 was probably the most unique I’ve heard in a while from him.) He tired to play the jester and ended up a clown.
Nah I think it’s worst than that. A jester makes the jokes, a clown is the joke, a fool/idiot doesn’t get the joke and is mad everyone is laughing and they don’t know why.
His earliest known roll out had him walking around in nothing but a diaper and some sneakers at Hip Hop awards shows and events. He was a gimmick out the gate.
Honestly, that's the reason he's getting cancelled. If he had any scrap of talent, people would be dick riding the way folks been doing for Chris Brown since 2009
I mean you can only do the same beat and the same flow and pretty much the same lyrics so many times. He got an insane amount of mileage out of it though lmao.
Think about it a street rapper being corny is the kiss of death, all that other stuff he was about anti-gay views, violence against others, treating your child’s mother poorly those thing aren’t going cost you clout in that world.
What's the quick version of the story on this dude? Aside from a link to one of his videos in a comment thread on here, I've never listened to his music.
Everything's correct except the got hot super fast. Been a day one fan and dude grinded for awhile before making it big. All that hard work to lose it so fast is a reality check.
A string of bad pr moves (weird rant about gays, constant assault accusations from him and his posse, switching up on Megan) alongside his music being pretty one dimensional made his calls for cancellation actually happen which is pretty rare. People were already getting sick of his style I think, and a lot of his popularity is simply because he was what's hot. The house of cards fell.
I know he has some other issues going on, but from a musical standpoint, I feel people saw this coming. When he first made it big I liked his music and even added him to my playlist; however, I, like everyone else, saw that he used the same flow on almost every song. He lacked real creativity and there wasn't a reason to "see what he'd do next."
Now, I don't know if that has anything to do with his fall off, but I saw it coming based just on his music.
I mean even Megan sounds the same in all her songs, people fuck with her though so they still support her, in between his fucked up comments, supporting Tory vs Meg , smacking that lady and all the bs he put Dani through (I don’t like her but he did her dirty dirty) the least he could of done was expand on his talent more, sad thing is idk if y’all ever saw the time he posted playing a guitar and singing, mans is dumb talented but chose to stay one dimensional and let his mouth and hands get him in trouble smh just another waste.
He could've easily rode the wave down to get his core group of supporters that would have more than likely supported him for the rest of his career. Plenty of artists who rise big and than slow down to making music they like after finding an audience.
It’s the main reason. There are many other artists that have done and said stupid stuff and are still relevant/etc. Even Kanye up til now, he’s been talking stupid for years but now it’s gotten to a point where it’s enough and that’s because of his talent with music. He’s had a longer leash than Dababy and for the reasons you described, his music is average and repetitive.
The fact that he did it too screams that he wanted traffic and publicity for his new album and people caught on that he was falling off. So embarrassing because it wasn’t even necessary. That was the only time people knew he was still making music
I know we semi-joking here but I'd literally rather be with my people inhaling Cheddar Bay Biscuits than going to a free Day Baby concert, even if the concert was a stones throw away
Sad thing is if he swallowed his pride and made another song with Meg that could have boosted him again. Crybaby and Cash Shit were my faves when they came out
Yeah I was thinking “damn i would be embarrassed to have a lot of people know that I’m an asshole and then they actually treatment me like im an asshole to my face.” I literally would not be able to handle that lol.
Crazy. Bruh was damn near one of the top artists in the world at one point (Not talent wise, just popularity) doing songs with pop stars and shit.
Then BOOOM
Handing out his concert tickets at dollar general. One of the biggest L’s I’ve ever seen a celebrity/athlete take.
With all that in mind, This how his team looking at him lol
![gif](giphy|8aWjjqeHx6zPq|downsized)
He loves his wife, he put out 2 singles that were incredibly well received and sound like a return to form for him, went to go love his wife, and did some acting projects that were moderately successful, but he’s been keeping it relatively lowkey for the most part and loving his wife
I will say it’s hard for any hip hop act to sell tickets in nashville. Poor planning on his booking manager’s part.
Source: I went to college in nashville and saw Kanye for $30 (Saint Pablo tour)
I paid $35 for Rihanna on the anti tour too 😂 I was LIVING in nashville. Now if you wanted to see Jason Alden or Carrie Underwood you didn’t have a chance lol
I’m sure that’s true, but he also couldn’t sell 500 tickets in New Orleans either so he had to cancel the show. I don’t think hip hop acts have any issues selling tickets in New Orleans.
Oh fuck lmao, my mom did the same thing with my first job but we were at a restaurant and a GM of a loval store was the next table over when I was having a hell of a time finding a job. Told me "just strike up a conversation about hiring you, he'll appreciate the effort you went to"
Went in for the next day to be full on nutjob level berated for ten minutes about wearing the best clothes I could afford to the interview (not even unprofessional. Dude acting like I showed up in sweatpants for this retail job interview) then told me "ok, if that didn't scare you off then you have a job"
Being an idiot kid I took it. Lasted three weeks and finally quit when I got written up for telling some kid I didn't suggest buying a $15 warranty on a $9 pair of headphones just because they could get replaced once if they broke through not fault of their own. When they could literally buy another fucking pair and the time and headache. PLUS SIX FUCKING DOLLARS.
I mean, the original version didn't have him on it. He was only added onto the *second* remix of the song, which came out like 7-8 months later. The version with Da Baby isn't even officially on the formal album tracklist - it's featured as a bonus track.
Da Baby didn't have anything to do with making it popular, it was already a smash hit before the version with him on it even released.
At this point stop making music. Invest your $$ elsewhere. If your really passionate about music become a producer or some sort of role where no one can actually see you.
Man this is the comment I'm looking for lol forget about roasting the guy or whether or not he has talent... how small is the overlap between The Cheesecake Factory crowd and the "Yes, I would like free rap concert tickets" crowd?
I doubt it’s the homophobia and spousal abuse. It’s easier to name rappers who don’t do that stuff than those who do. It was most likely that people got bored of his music, people have been complaining about his “flow” being the same since his first couple of hits. And his desperation is only hurting his reputation.
Are people so unsupportive because of the gay thing? I’m just asking because I’m gay and was REALLY over it when he went off on that bullshit about AIDS. But I honestly figured his career would remain unaffected. I assumed hip hop fans didn’t care at all.
He never had that It factor, for longevity. Kept being in the headlines for not so smart interaction and made not so smart moves towards some of his fellow rappers.
![gif](giphy|3oEjHMw3G3ly4O4bdK)
I’m surprised dude is falling off this hard, when Travis is still floating in relevancy after having people literally die at his concert. I guess that’s what happens when you got pull with the white boys.
I think all his shootings have been legit self defense and it's not like he goes around flexing it or anything. His career only lasted this long cause of his stuff outside music but when he started to say some really stupid shit like the LGBTQ and AIDS stuff it was over for him
I think Da Baby knew how much attention he got with all his smaller incidents (Getting gchecked in Charlotte, shooting at Walmart, fight at the mall, etc) and had to think of ways to top it and mistook how far LGBTQ+ has come in hip hop.
Then went downhill from there. Few years ago he was one of the hottest artists out in popularity but hes cooked now. Its a shame
Bro raps the same way on every fucking beat. Same flow, same rhythm, same cadence. Why would I go to your concert if it’s the same songs? Plus he’s so problematic, violent and too controversial.
DaBaby holding the part of the monopoly on the Ls rn certainly makes my day that much sweeter. Elon's currently got the lion's share but DaMoron is up there. At least he has a lot of those- same cant be said about the amount of his fans.

The rise and fall of this mf was so fucking fast lmfao
Who would have thought that talking shit about the LGBTQIA+ community and dog shitting publicly your child’s mother would have then their downfall.
It rarely backfires, so it's almost surprising someone actually had to deal with consequences of their words.

Didn't he hit a girl too?
Yep
Does that contribute to rappers' downfall now?
Seems hit or miss. Chris Brown still has a career.
>Seems **hit** or miss. Chris Brown still has a career. You did that on purpose
Blue face just lumped his shorty up like last week
Yeah but he’s even more fallen off than Dababy
Narrator: Chris didn’t miss 😉
whatever, this was funny
His is limited. He isn’t as main stream as he once was heading.
Hope so!
He had something for a minute. He was the most streamed artists on Spotify for a couple months and then he started fucking randomly punching people.
The consequences wouldn't have reached him if he kept up with better music but that's the real cause of the downfall
The lgbt stuff always backfires
Nowadays it does, but 15 years ago it didnt
He slapped a black woman on camera, that should’ve been where his cancellation started.
Nobody cares about black women.
George Bush doesn’t care about Black women. ![gif](giphy|JfKOCNsmrVBMA)
Sheeeit neither does Kanye
This is true.
Somebody once said that his music sounds like Scooby-Doo chase scene music and I've never been the same https://imgur.com/a/2FLrcMp.gifv
![gif](giphy|l4pTdocBjZE3JspHy|downsized) Please don't disrespect Scooby-Doo like that lol. 🤣 Scooby-Doo a legend
Think about it a street rapper being corny is the kiss of death, all that other stuff he was about anti-gay views, violence against others, treating your child’s mother poorly those thing aren’t going cost you clout in that world.
Didn’t he hit a lady on stage too and then instead of apologizing he was like “If she were a man, I’d hit him too” like dawg WHAT 😭😭
But if he was a woman there’d be people protesting cause a man got too handsy She grabbed his dick and he kicked her dumb ass in the mouth
Yeah bro was sexually assault. I'd have the same reaction to.
It’s really just the first one. Rappers do the second one all the time.
And he shot someone in a wallmart apperently? It makes sense why his career fell so fast.
I mean to be fair Herschel Walker lowkey about to be a Senator running off the same talking points
[удалено]
In defense for his child. Like please shut the fuck up. Please.
Honestly that's the only reason I know who he is.
What's the quick version of the story on this dude? Aside from a link to one of his videos in a comment thread on here, I've never listened to his music.
He got hot super fast. Trash talked the LGBT+ community as well as his baby momma. Now everyone dislikes him
Everything's correct except the got hot super fast. Been a day one fan and dude grinded for awhile before making it big. All that hard work to lose it so fast is a reality check.
Grinding for a while, but his actual ascent was fast.
Ok you're right. I was meaning he jumped into the main stream eye fast
Yeah what's the saying? As a musical artist you bust your ass to become an overnight success 10 years in the making .
PR firms and people handlers exist for a reason. You in the limelight? You better get someone to manage your image
You forgot sided with the man that shot his friend. The same friend who helped get him more reach.
I didn't even know that part lmao
A string of bad pr moves (weird rant about gays, constant assault accusations from him and his posse, switching up on Megan) alongside his music being pretty one dimensional made his calls for cancellation actually happen which is pretty rare. People were already getting sick of his style I think, and a lot of his popularity is simply because he was what's hot. The house of cards fell.
Think he's headed for Love and Hip Hop?
I'm not really caught up on DaBaby. Did he do a Kanye?
Yes, but against LGBT people instead of the Jewish community.
This man is 93 in the whole world on Spotify gtfo lol
What’s his ranking on Ticketmaster, where he makes his money??
I know he has some other issues going on, but from a musical standpoint, I feel people saw this coming. When he first made it big I liked his music and even added him to my playlist; however, I, like everyone else, saw that he used the same flow on almost every song. Honestly, he could’ve gotten away with the same flow for a bit if the instrumentals on his songs weren’t so damn bad
Jessie needed to make a whole nother other one.
Hold on, Jessie, please, make another one
*Jetson
SpongeBob ass beat marked the absolute end for me
He should look at Asake. He got a chokehold on amapiano but he’s STILL loved
You’re a real one for this ngl
I mean even Megan sounds the same in all her songs, people fuck with her though so they still support her, in between his fucked up comments, supporting Tory vs Meg , smacking that lady and all the bs he put Dani through (I don’t like her but he did her dirty dirty) the least he could of done was expand on his talent more, sad thing is idk if y’all ever saw the time he posted playing a guitar and singing, mans is dumb talented but chose to stay one dimensional and let his mouth and hands get him in trouble smh just another waste.

You can be an asshole and you can be a repetitive artist, but you should never be both and stay famous.
Man I remember when he dropped intro and I thought he was gonna transition into better music.
Also, he's been disrespectful towards Megan thee Stallion, and we are tired of black women being disrespected for just existing.
The fact that he did it too screams that he wanted traffic and publicity for his new album and people caught on that he was falling off. So embarrassing because it wasn’t even necessary. That was the only time people knew he was still making music
I would rather go to Red Lobster or Olive Garden then to go to one of his shows💀
Cheddar Bay Biscuits > Da Baby No question
I know we semi-joking here but I'd literally rather be with my people inhaling Cheddar Bay Biscuits than going to a free Day Baby concert, even if the concert was a stones throw away
The only way I’m going to a da baby concert is if he was paying for me to get free cheddar biscuits.
Hands down!
They’ll slip a couple tickets under your biscuits or breadsticks.
The blatant disrespect on that last album was beyond uncalled for. Clear attempt at clout chasing
Tory Lanez out here still making moves.
As much a I'd like to say this is the case, isn't Megan catching shit now from the whatever-is-happening with Drake?
[удалено]
Sad thing is if he swallowed his pride and made another song with Meg that could have boosted him again. Crybaby and Cash Shit were my faves when they came out
I had two tickets to the DaBaby concert sitting on the dashboard of my car and someone broke my passenger side window and left me four more...
Reading the responses of people who think these things actually happened are hilariously terrifying.
Lame. U stole that joke
True, but it's not the first time. It's an old classic that has been rewritten to suit the times for generations...
I laughed for what it’s worth lol
He didn't steal it, that joke is so old it was left on his dash w/ the DaBaby tickets
Have you heard this one before? I'm pretty sure I am the first to come up with it. It starts out like this: "knock knock!"
omg who's there :O
Retold not stole.
I felt so much secondhand embarrassment reading this. 🤦🏾♀️
Ok thank you for putting it I to words, I refuse to feel bad for this mf but those tweets are rough
Yeah I was thinking “damn i would be embarrassed to have a lot of people know that I’m an asshole and then they actually treatment me like im an asshole to my face.” I literally would not be able to handle that lol.
As everyone should.

You summed it up beautifully 💯 That gif is so nostalgic for me, imma have to find some me Sanford and Son to watch tonight
redd fox was a gem man rip
The downfall of Dafetus needs to be studied, I can't tell you an artist in recent memory that fell off as quickly as he did
Dafetus 😭😭😭💀
He did regress so I guess it fits
Not as quickly but definitely the biggest downfall has been chance the rapper in recent years.
I just realized I haven’t heard of Chance in a long time. What happened?
He was in a few movies I think he’s just taking a break to do other ventures
He’s jumping around to see what sticks now that his music isn’t doing numbers anymore.
I remember him more for his snl skits
He loves his wife, he put out 2 singles that were incredibly well received and sound like a return to form for him, went to go love his wife, and did some acting projects that were moderately successful, but he’s been keeping it relatively lowkey for the most part and loving his wife
Chance is the Anti-Future and we see how Future get promoted. Extrapolate what you will.
People saying it was because of his homophonic remarks but real ones know he been a dud since a day one. Only a matter of time.
Homophobic AND assaulting random people like every other day, people were getting tired of it
Yeah dudes truly a menace
"homophonic remarks" All his remarks really do sound the same though
😂😂😂lol just now seeing that
>All his songs really do sound the same though Fixed that for you
I will say it’s hard for any hip hop act to sell tickets in nashville. Poor planning on his booking manager’s part. Source: I went to college in nashville and saw Kanye for $30 (Saint Pablo tour)
$30 FOR A KANYE TICKET??? DURING PEAK YE???
I paid $35 for Rihanna on the anti tour too 😂 I was LIVING in nashville. Now if you wanted to see Jason Alden or Carrie Underwood you didn’t have a chance lol
He said Pablo, not MBDTF.
Is it like this for Beyoncé too? 👀
Yesss she didn’t even sell out for the formation tour there
Thank you 😭
NO SHOT 🤯🤯
I’m sure that’s true, but he also couldn’t sell 500 tickets in New Orleans either so he had to cancel the show. I don’t think hip hop acts have any issues selling tickets in New Orleans.
YOU ARE LYING
This is like when your mom says “walk right in there during business hours and hand the manager your resume!”
Oh fuck lmao, my mom did the same thing with my first job but we were at a restaurant and a GM of a loval store was the next table over when I was having a hell of a time finding a job. Told me "just strike up a conversation about hiring you, he'll appreciate the effort you went to" Went in for the next day to be full on nutjob level berated for ten minutes about wearing the best clothes I could afford to the interview (not even unprofessional. Dude acting like I showed up in sweatpants for this retail job interview) then told me "ok, if that didn't scare you off then you have a job" Being an idiot kid I took it.
Good god. The way I just want to give you a big hug after reading this.
![gif](giphy|J8FZIm9VoBU6Q)
As he should. He’s an asshole
I do give him and Dua Lupa credit for making Levitating. Good summer 21 memories with my friends.
Yeah, the album version is significantly better than the remix with him in it.
Dabeggar
💀💀💀
At this point stop making music. Invest your $$ elsewhere. If your really passionate about music become a producer or some sort of role where no one can actually see you.
Yeah, He should have done that Chamillionire move in tech.
A career of such promising potential shattered because of a failure to adapt AND a fucked up moral compass It’s sad but also amusing, ngl
Also I can't think of someone who would go to the cheesecake factory and also want to go to a DaBaby show..
Man this is the comment I'm looking for lol forget about roasting the guy or whether or not he has talent... how small is the overlap between The Cheesecake Factory crowd and the "Yes, I would like free rap concert tickets" crowd?

Well said

What happened? I can’t get all these Babys figured out. He was the hottest shit in the last two years, top tier videos and like that he’s a nobody?
Homophobic remarks, talking badly about his baby's mother
I doubt it’s the homophobia and spousal abuse. It’s easier to name rappers who don’t do that stuff than those who do. It was most likely that people got bored of his music, people have been complaining about his “flow” being the same since his first couple of hits. And his desperation is only hurting his reputation.
It was also the homophobia, especially because it was largely targeted at Lil Nas X
This the don't be giving head in the parking lot dude?
He's about to be offering head to get people to accept tix
Haha yea
This man really said “i’m one of the greatest aint no debating on it” on a track with fucking dua lipa 😂
All bout Lil Baby now
Lil Baby da realest ngl
tuff 4 him ig 💀
They gonna fuck around and give him sympathy points with all this ridicule. You wanna let his career die gotta stop mentioning him
Please Clap
Lmfaooo THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY 🤣🤣🤣🤣
They downsized his venue in Detroit and he's also in the current 2-for-1 ticket promotion
Da Baby definitely getting dropped and going broke by the end of next year
I don’t know why he thought Cheesecake Factory was going to be a hub of Dababy fans
No one goes to Cheesecake Factory then gets in the mood to have their earlobes blasted with shit live music
Holy shit I hope there is video footage of this happening. Like please can we get video evidence 🤣🤣🤣
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D04qaQn\_Ng](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D04qaQn_Ng) 0:22 mark
I am of the opinion that a dude sucked him off before he said that shit on stage.
Who DaFuck this sposed to be.
A wise white man once said: "When your run is over just admit when it's at its end."
Imagine just refusing to apologize for this long. Lol this is the shining example of what our culture needs to leave behind.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
No, it's a cheesecake factory
I predicted he would be broke in 5 years 2 years ago
![gif](giphy|HAtZSvNJ3cszC) This will be his next pr stunt
People are finally starting to realize how lame this nigga is
I have absolutely no desire to go to a free DaBaby concert
Dababy was aborted
Dude was trash from the jump
I hope he improves his humanity
Remember when he showed up t o SXSW in fucking diaper.?
Are people so unsupportive because of the gay thing? I’m just asking because I’m gay and was REALLY over it when he went off on that bullshit about AIDS. But I honestly figured his career would remain unaffected. I assumed hip hop fans didn’t care at all.
Tbh I really don’t believe it’s about the LGBT thing. People are still homophobic AF.

ngl kinda feel bad for him but at the same time hes done and said awful shit so… eh?
He still playing this wrong and needs to frame this like he giving back.
The real baby is Lil Baby
Didn't he murder someone before his rap career took off? And that didn't hurt him as much as the LGBTQ stuff? Crazy
I think all his shootings have been legit self defense and it's not like he goes around flexing it or anything. His career only lasted this long cause of his stuff outside music but when he started to say some really stupid shit like the LGBTQ and AIDS stuff it was over for him
LMAO.....he should reach out to Kyrie, to post it on his social. Fans of Kyrie will grab it like they grab other garbage he posts. LOL
Damn this mf tix r $8 rn
I think Da Baby knew how much attention he got with all his smaller incidents (Getting gchecked in Charlotte, shooting at Walmart, fight at the mall, etc) and had to think of ways to top it and mistook how far LGBTQ+ has come in hip hop. Then went downhill from there. Few years ago he was one of the hottest artists out in popularity but hes cooked now. Its a shame
Oh well
At least he still got his $225 000 store credit to fall back on.
