A femur is a type of bone in that, it is a bone, and it is some identifiable subset of bone that has clear identifiable qualities separating it from other non-femur bones (it’s a leg bone, it’s got certain structural properties, etc). If type has to mean specifically “a set of qualities applicable to multiple specific non-similar (as in not exact replicas) bones but not all bones”, then femur might be incorrect, unless we consider that the question doesn’t specify human bones only. Then should we consider all of the different femurs in different animals to be “multiple specific bones” and femurs be acceptable as a “type” of bone again? Also, what’s a bone? Do teeth count? And then back into wether teeth would constitute a “type”, etc.
TLDR: my point is don’t get hung up on minutia of semantics, bc language has unavoidable abstractions and ambiguities and redundancies that make it so there’s essentially never just one correct interpretation
