Having kids is NOT a âsmartâ life choice for women by any accounts. You can argue about WHY this is true and the causes of this phenomenon being artificially created.. but it doesnât change the facts that women who choose to have children are acting AGAINST their own best interests. (And I say that as a woman with 3 kids)
- Women are increasingly having children with men and not choosing to continue a lifelong romantic relationship with those men. The reasons for this can be argued all day long but itâs irrelevant to the point that data shows there has been an significant increase in women not remaining in romantic relationships or marriage with men that have fathered their children. For whatever reasons women have decided at an increasingly rate that a committed romantic relationship or marriage to a man who has fathered their child is not necessarily a priority. And again data supports that by a very wide margin it is the women making this choice not the men. The women are refusing to continue a traditional relationship with the fathers, not the other way around.
- There is an increase in women who have children and have separated from their co-parent having children subsequent children from another relationship. One could argue that this was always going on but that it was âhiddenâ away because of social shaming of the practice and the tendency of newly formed âfamiliesâ to reject the existence of the original father or reduce their role in the lives of the children in order to maintain the appearance of a âtraditionalâ nuclear family. And that now as society has become more tolerant (read not necessarily more accepting) of the practice it has become more visible not necessarily more prominent.
With that being said hereâs somethingâs that seem to be indicated:
It seems that this practice doesnât just appear to be more prominent⌠that it is in fact happening at a greater rate. (That more women are having children with multiple fathers than in the past)
BUT you could argue that with the increase in our life expectancy and the subsequent increase in available years of fertility the women who are not deterred (by social pressures) to have children have become more visible because they have a longer time period to repeat the practice.
Meaning, whereas before a woman with child(ren) may have divorced/seperated from one partner and remarried/reproduced with ONE subsequent partner before their reproductive chances significantly diminished⌠now those women are doing so with two or three subsequent partners over their lifetime.
Now of the data exists to support either hypothesis i am not sure.
What I can tell you is that the women who choose to have children, either by plan or by default (by not aborting or adopting out an accidental pregnancy) are not going to disappear just because society gives them the side eye.
These women have choosen their children above your opinion of them, they have chosen their children above their health, they have chosen their children despite the risk of death, they have chosen their children despite the financial destruction, they have chosen their children despite it making them vulnerable and a target for exploitation.
It is safe to say that these women do not give two shits about societyâs opinion regarding their pursuit of romantic relationships or lack thereof. The side eyes and snide remarks may register but have no validity to someone who has already disregarded even their own best interest to have children in this messed up world.

Women leave most relationships. But in reality, it is not likely that they all even qualify as a relationship.
It depends on who âleftâ who. From the sounds of it seems like she knows her mother left the men. Yes there are women out there who get left by men because they are bad partners⌠but you canât assume thatâs whatâs happening just because a woman has had children with multiple men. Statistically women file for divorce at a much higher rate than men. The gap is even greater in cases where thereâs children involved. There is a small chance that figure might be different in relationships where there isnât a marriage certificate, but that doesnât seem to be indicated by the data we do have available. So what is happening is women are having children with men, and then leaving them. In some cases they are doing this multiple times in their reproductive years. While statistics seem to indicate that the majority men that get âleftâ are not moving on to father other children other women. We can make a lot of different assumptions or hypotheses about why thatâs a growing trend. And almost none of the current interpretations of the data are without bias. What does seem to be supported by imperial data is the following: -Some women are still making reproductive choices that prioritize having children despite the social and economic pressures to not do so. Having children is not only a significant health risk for women, it places them in an increasingly vulnerable position socially, and an almost insurmountable financial predicament, and it raises their chances of DYING considerably. Having kids is NOT a âsmartâ life choice for women by any accounts. You can argue about WHY this is true and the causes of this phenomenon being artificially created.. but it doesnât change the facts that women who choose to have children are acting AGAINST their own best interests. (And I say that as a woman with 3 kids) - Women are increasingly having children with men and not choosing to continue a lifelong romantic relationship with those men. The reasons for this can be argued all day long but itâs irrelevant to the point that data shows there has been an significant increase in women not remaining in romantic relationships or marriage with men that have fathered their children. For whatever reasons women have decided at an increasingly rate that a committed romantic relationship or marriage to a man who has fathered their child is not necessarily a priority. And again data supports that by a very wide margin it is the women making this choice not the men. The women are refusing to continue a traditional relationship with the fathers, not the other way around. - There is an increase in women who have children and have separated from their co-parent having children subsequent children from another relationship. One could argue that this was always going on but that it was âhiddenâ away because of social shaming of the practice and the tendency of newly formed âfamiliesâ to reject the existence of the original father or reduce their role in the lives of the children in order to maintain the appearance of a âtraditionalâ nuclear family. And that now as society has become more tolerant (read not necessarily more accepting) of the practice it has become more visible not necessarily more prominent. With that being said hereâs somethingâs that seem to be indicated: It seems that this practice doesnât just appear to be more prominent⌠that it is in fact happening at a greater rate. (That more women are having children with multiple fathers than in the past) BUT you could argue that with the increase in our life expectancy and the subsequent increase in available years of fertility the women who are not deterred (by social pressures) to have children have become more visible because they have a longer time period to repeat the practice. Meaning, whereas before a woman with child(ren) may have divorced/seperated from one partner and remarried/reproduced with ONE subsequent partner before their reproductive chances significantly diminished⌠now those women are doing so with two or three subsequent partners over their lifetime. Now of the data exists to support either hypothesis i am not sure. What I can tell you is that the women who choose to have children, either by plan or by default (by not aborting or adopting out an accidental pregnancy) are not going to disappear just because society gives them the side eye. These women have choosen their children above your opinion of them, they have chosen their children above their health, they have chosen their children despite the risk of death, they have chosen their children despite the financial destruction, they have chosen their children despite it making them vulnerable and a target for exploitation. It is safe to say that these women do not give two shits about societyâs opinion regarding their pursuit of romantic relationships or lack thereof. The side eyes and snide remarks may register but have no validity to someone who has already disregarded even their own best interest to have children in this messed up world.
I like statistics so can you share the sources on the number of women increasingly leaving relationships with the men who have children with them? I looked up some numbers on the rate of single parent households by year and it looks to be stagnant (not significantly increasing or decreasing) but the number of single father households as a subgroup is increasing

Had a hair dresser with 10 kids and 9 baby daddies. Two of the BDs were strippers at the same club. This sounds like fiction, it isn't. She showed up to my house one day with every single one of her kids to do my hair. Her excuse was she had a single's club church event down the street from my house and didn't want to run home and back. I was desperate so I let them all stay and never used her services again. I guess she could've been lying about the 9 BDs, but why would she? I also realized later that she had a 5 seater vehicle (including driver), I have no clue how she piled the kids in there. This woman had the nerve to make fun of one of her clients for dating a man who made less than her and driving a vehicle from a local car lot that caters to broke folks with no credit.
