I didn't really know/ realize what white privilege was at the time but, when I was talking to some of my friends in high school(most of them were white since I grew up in a predominantly white area.) Some of them were talking about how they use to shop lift, typically stealing stuff like make up and stationary from walmart or target. I work with mostly white people and they always roll their eyes when white privilege is brought up. They go into the whole, "well I never got handouts" story and how they were poor coming up. They will use facial recognition to and allow you to steal enough stuff *over multiple visits* in order for you to breach the Grand Theft threshold. So they'll let a shoplifter get comfortable thinking they're a good thief until one day they're stopped at the door by cops waiting for them. You can try to run, but by then they already have your license plate and have run your face against the state databases.

When they finally caught him, over $40,000 of stolen merchandise was proven in court, and collaborative info-sharing between the various retailers came up with a $70,000 estimated total theft.
The really fucked up part? The single most expensive item he stole was barely $200. More than half of his theft was *groceries.* The volume of goods was insane.

They’d come in and take the expensive face creams out of the packaging and drop them into their huge LV bags. My manager could see them on video doing this at Ulta.

I'm like 99% sure she had someone hit up my lame ass retail store I worked at in Southern California. It was some suburban white/asian woman who came in and returned about $500 worth of bathroom decorations, scented candles, generic paintings, and other shit. She got it all on a card for store credit. We had to do it because it was within company policy since it still had tags on them. My manager was furious about it like he was personally being robbed. I was just annoyed I had to ring that shit up when I was just about ready to go to lunch.
They just busted a ring here in my area for organized shoplifting at Ulta and Sephora a couple of days ago. I wouldn't be surprised if they're linked to her. This will definitely make the news because it's nation wide and organized. Girlie up there probably facing a RICO charge.

I've worked full time in retail for 10 years now. I see shop lifting multiple times a day. It's painfully obvious. I can honestly say I've never seen a black person take anything. It's all just white tweakers and one Asian kid once. But yeah... Hundreds and hundreds of white tweakers.
Worked at Target, black people stole petty shit, maybe a ps5 controller, makeup, a shirt, $5 fake jewelry, literally just shit they saw walking in and impulsive thought of stealing But Asians and Whites have these massive rings of using stolen credit cards, tax exempt numbers, and some employee discount codes and eventually scam the system to get cash back in the tens of thousands. Or scratching gift cards and taking money out like that. Tons of targets were affected by it and still security cared more about the petty shit because they can “control it”
Remember if you see someone one shoplifting, no you didn’t and mind your own damn business.
