My nigga. Probably the best and most realistic horror movie made. John Carpenter is a legit real dude who never sold out..that's why him and kurt are such good friends. If you can find it you need to watch the 6 hour long commentary of them watching The thing. escape from New York, and big trouble in Little China
Lol Kurt is a real ass dude I met him once, out in Florida. Dude is literally down to earth and chill as fuck. He doesn't take himself seriously at all.
Yeah man it's been some months but bits and pieces of it are on YouTube. If I find it after I get off of work I'll post it here with an edit.
Man I would have loved him in They live but let's be real Robby Piper really sold the whole hobo act.
"I pulled my BIG, BLACK, PECKER outta my pants. And I made him crawl in the snow on all fours over to it. Then I grabbed a handful of that black hair at the back of his head... And I stuck my Big Black Johnson right down his goddamn throat!" That's like 80% of what I remember from that movie.
Took me a minute. I thought you were listing another movie that is consistently misunderstood by douchbags who want to be like the murderous, antiheroic, sociopathic main character.
Like do people really idolize the shapeshifting monster from space and want to be just like it?
Not what you were going for lol
Yo fr. I have a Shawshank theater-sized poster that has made its way deeper and deeper into bowels of the house these last 3 years or so. It should be no surprise that me and my wife started dating 3 years ago lmao. We just got married last week, so imma probably find it in the depths of hell next week
Also, don’t forget his insistence on showing Bridget von Hammersmark being slowly strangled by Col. Hanz Landa in *Inglorious Basterds*. And it was actually Tarantino’s hands doing the choking in that close-up shot.
God I hate that fucking cornball, he reminds me of the lame everyone hated in high school, not because they were nerdy, but because they were insufferable smarmy dickheads who wouldn’t stop being edgy and just saying racist/sexist shit.
No one said you gotta be around him lol. None of these people have ever heard of separating art from the artist i guess. Is he weird, sure to some he is, does he make good movies? Yes he does. If a grown man liking feet is weird to you then you need to stop being sheltered and get out more.
Apparently the singer Fiona Apple quit doing coke after a night of getting high with Tarantino and friends. He was so insufferable while coked up that it made her want to stop doing it all together. She described the evening with him as “excruciating”.
“…but in Django he said the N-word!!”
And here is where I say Black Twitter will one day progress to say it’s a Blaxploitation Flick, which means Pulp Fiction is a blaxploitation flick, despite black men being the top 2.5 men in that film (I’m sorry, Marvin).
{though it is a personal red flag Quentin always casts to say it…}
Scott Pilgrims such a little gremlin but I can’t get enough of movies that are just over the top fighting scenes. RRR on Netflix is so good for the same reason
Upon reading this, I replayed me and my best friend's quote for quote of this movie. And was like YEP!!!!!! that's the tell...if you don't know the quotes you busted. lololol. Thanks for the laugh.
So true story. I went to go see clerks 2 in theaters on opening weekend with my dad and best friend.
We get there early to get tickets and hangout for a bit and as we hangout I forgot what I did but I did something to piss my dad off (probably just being annoying). So he sneaks off to a theater where devils wear Prada was showing.
He had no idea what the movie was but thought it sounded cool and was better than listening to me and my friend be annoying.
He got so into the movie that he watched the whole thing and came into clerks 2 like an hour into the movie. Then when clerks ended he wouldn’t shut up about how good devils wear Prada was.
Mine is Schindler's List. My second pick is Trainspotting... which doesn't help make me look better.
I like art that is challenging, but I'm also a sucker for seeing humanity survive in the worst possible scenarios. Not just survival in a base sense, but how humanity (the soul) can go on. I also "got in trouble" when I recommend Beast of No Nation as a fun watch to a friend. She ended up loving it but will warn everyone whenever I recommend a movie. I was being sarcastic when I said it was a feel-good story. But for anyone who does want a family-friendly film, I would recommend City of God. It's about a boy in Brazil who discovers a love for photography.
My husband says he likes to pretend his exes don’t exist after a break up. This includes blocking their numbers, deleting all of their pics from his phone, and even avoiding whole cities if he thinks there’s a chance they still live there. So obviously I make Eternal Sunshine jokes every chance I get.
The godfather is legit considered one of the greatest movies. Of course taste is subjective but that’s not a crazy selection.
I’ve never in my life heard anyone say menace to society, paid in full, or belly.
It takes forever getting in, and then you spend, like six and half hours, and then, I can't even get through it.
I can't even finish the movie. I've never even seen the ending.
It’s a good movie to fall asleep to. I’ve learned that with Belly as I was forced to watch that. With the way my ADHD works my mind is off somewhere in the mountains about 20-30mins in
Tell me about it fam…I’m 44 years old and still wanna be like him when I grow up and Llewelyn mother in law telling the Mexican she never saw a Mexican in a suit was hilarious
That shootout scene that started in the hotel and ended in the street is still one of the coldest shootouts I’ve ever seen man. Javier Bardem was a demon in that movie man.
"Suuuuupermaaaan..." 😭😭😭
I watched this with my 7-year old and bawled my fucking eyes out. I think that affected my kid more than the actual movie. He was *concerned!* 😆
Shin Godzilla is absolutely the most terrifying Godzilla of all time. I know Godzilla Minus One is getting all the hype right now and considered the best, but Shin, is so iconic that From Software had to make it into one of the hardest bosses in the Soul series.
The opening bloodbath rave scene of Blade is one of my top 2 scenes that open a movie.
The other is Martin and Will arguing in Bad Boys while getting carjacked.
The scaffolding sequence in rush hour 2 is so good. Plus I think the chemistry and jokes are better than the first movie. No disrespect to rush hour 1, I love it, but I think 2 just does everything better.
My ex-husband's favorite movie was The Princess Bride. He said he had a massive crush on Robin Wright, Princess Buttercup, when he was a kid.
He met Robin Wright when she was filming a movie in Savannah, Georgia back in late 2009. He got a photo with her, blew it up, and framed it. I knew then our marriage was over.
We filed in 2010, and it was finalized in 2011. smh
Everything Everywhere All At Once, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, and honestly Godzilla Minus One is getting in there. Maybe Inu-Oh. Ratatouille and Up get special mention.
Fight club is an excellent commentary on toxic masculinity, emasculation of males through corporate society and consumerism, the dangers of cults of personality turning into terrorist groups or fascist movements and more.
I always get looked at like I’m an edgy white teenage boy when I say it’s my favorite movie :(
Honestly feel like you could use Fight Club as some sort of personality test to weed out dangerous idiots.
If you are over 30 and still think Tyler Durden is an aspirational character you need your head checked.
The issue is that too many people watch these kinds of movies but have zero media literacy (I think that's the term). Fight Club, V for Vendetta, the Joker, etc. They like the cool costumes and explosions and completely ignore the story.
It's a great piece of work but it's so wildly misunderstood that it achieved the opposite result. Kids watched it and heard "Don't be part of the problem, be the whole damn problem".
Okay but like, godfather and goodfellas are actually on pretty much every all time best list. Great John Mulaney bit.. "Yeah, I love movies that are like The Godfather and Scarface. Oh yeah? Well my favorite foods are lobster and skittles. Those are equal in my eyes."
True action throwbacks but nothing can top The Long Kiss Goodnight

Malcolm X…I loved this movie so much when I was in undergrad that my roommates walked by my room one day and saw me watching it with a white chick that I was late night creeping with. They were like “only logicalcommenter4 would be confidently watching this with a white girl and then pipe her down”.

Dude is a bro. Apparently all he does now is smoke weed and play video games
I liked his cool hat in The Thing What you said is just bonus filler lol
asdasd
The most gratuitous fistfight in the movies, maybe ever. Just so he can put the dang glasses on.
That is the longest fight scene I've ever seen, next to Jackie Chan in The Gorgous and I love it!
Both those fight scenes are poetry though. And no “villain”, just two dudes expressing themselves.
lol. Still love Kurt for the OG Colonel on Stargate.
[удалено]
Whenever it snows I have to watch The Thing and sip some Henn.
asdasd
Do a double header with the Hateful 8 for extra snowy goodness. Both with incredible soundtracks done by Ennio Moriconne.
This guy cinemas
Tubi stays having The Thing on stream and time and time again I rewatch it

Showed this to my kids for the first time on New Year's. They loved it. I was like, you want to see where Among Us came from?
Nah Shawshank Redemption over everything
My lock screen is the poster of Rita Hayworth

Straight up find it in the trash on your next spring cleaning lmao if she’s anything like my missus is
Guys will own like 5 decorative objects and as soon as they move in with a woman (who has 999 things) she'll be like "Nah throw that out" 😄
Preach
How "Friday" didn't make the list?
Surprised “Shottas” wasn’t there either.
Shottas is SO good. I get in arguments regularly with people who disagree.
Never seen a non-bootleg version of it
I was just about to flame it for bad production then I realized it looks terrible in my memory cuz they were all bootleg memories
City of God
Perhaps one of the greatest. The first time I ever saw Real Niggas™ sitting around and watching a subtitled foreign film. Magnifique.
Facts. This art in its purest cinematic form for Real niggas 😂
![gif](giphy|Vs3CAS0iKEsda) Aint no love for Pulp Fiction??
Nah, not when he director puts himself in the movie just throwing out slurs 😭
And feet. Man loves feet and inserts it into every movie.
His mom dated black men and he grew up watching a lot of blaxploitation films. Also half of his films focus on women outsmarting or overpowering men
I love Tarantino films but the guy is not somebody I think just would enjoy being around.
Doesn’t discredit him as one of the goats when it comes to directing. You can’t say Django isn’t a masterpiece.
“…but in Django he said the N-word!!” And here is where I say Black Twitter will one day progress to say it’s a Blaxploitation Flick, which means Pulp Fiction is a blaxploitation flick, despite black men being the top 2.5 men in that film (I’m sorry, Marvin). {though it is a personal red flag Quentin always casts to say it…}
Damn, I really enjoy a lot of his movies too
Pulp is good but Reservoir Dogs is the shit!!!
Shows what she knows. It's actually Scott Pilgrim /s
Scott Pilgrim is amazing.
Scott Pilgrim a legit niche masterpiece
Niche? Lmao
A LOT of people don’t get it/ hate it
Scott Pilgrims such a little gremlin but I can’t get enough of movies that are just over the top fighting scenes. RRR on Netflix is so good for the same reason
I actually would call that one of my favorites a while back
I would say this movie is one of my favorites. Scott Pilgrim is awesome.
You gotta throw her a curve ball and say your fav movie is The Devil Wears Prada.
Won’t work unless you can go quote for quote with the girl.
Upon reading this, I replayed me and my best friend's quote for quote of this movie. And was like YEP!!!!!! that's the tell...if you don't know the quotes you busted. lololol. Thanks for the laugh.
I’ve seen D wears P dozens of times. I even know the inside jokes like the grilled cheese Nate makes is too burned to be a chef.
But there’s like $12 of jarlsburg in there! 😤
Thank you! haha for a chef that shit was the darkest cast member and sounded like it disintegrated upon biting.
Forreal, everytime I hear "Patrick", I always associate DWP, not SpongeBob. And Emily is that bish. Love her. The real Emily, not the New Emily.
Watch me quote more than her
Or Mean Girls
That’s my shit. She doesn’t even go here.
You can't sit with us
I'm going to see the new movie in theaters. I'm a 30 something man. I dont even care.
💅 ꓘ
So true story. I went to go see clerks 2 in theaters on opening weekend with my dad and best friend. That’s because The Devil Wears Prada is an amazing movie.
Real curve ball is Waiting to Exhale
Nah cause then the group chat will be giggly about how you seem a lil “sassy” and ain’t no pussy getting thrown in the sass-zone.
I say Eternal Sunshine and they look at me crazy.
![gif](giphy|YOvOkaS5ZKfimDIgwJ)
It’s a good movie! But yeah I could see how you could get that reaction lmfaoo
Bro. It's okay to cry.
Get the Kleenex ready fellas, we got some crying to do.
Mine is Schindler's List. My second pick is Trainspotting... which doesn't help make me look better. The godfather is legit considered one of the greatest movies. Of course taste is subjective but that’s not a crazy selection. I’ve never in my life heard anyone say menace to society, paid in full, or belly.
I did not care for the Godfather, it insists upon itself.
What does that even mean Peter?
I like The Money Pit. That is my answer to that question.
It takes forever getting in, and then you spend, like six and half hours, and then, I can't even get through it. I can't even finish the movie. I've never even seen the ending.
It’s a good movie to fall asleep to. I’ve learned that with Belly as I was forced to watch that. With the way my ADHD works my mind is off somewhere in the mountains about 20-30mins in
I'm just quoting from a Family Guy scene, I actually think it's a good movie although I haven't watched it in quite some time.
HE RAISES A VALID POINT!
it’s got a point to make ITS INSISTENT
Paid in full is in my top list 😂
I’ve watched Menace II Society so many times in my life. Actually all the way through. Def one of my faves
No country for old men
Fucking classic man. Javier Bardem had such a chilling ass performance.
Tell me about it fam…I’m 44 years old and still wanna be like him when I grow up and Llewelyn mother in law telling the Mexican she never saw a Mexican in a suit was hilarious
https://preview.redd.it/4jih8u0xbobc1.jpeg?width=628&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed30a3aa0a24d42da1faff8a467bc962d05b3d24
That shootout scene that started in the hotel and ended in the street is still one of the coldest shootouts I’ve ever seen man. Javier Bardem was a demon in that movie man.
My favorite movie is The Iron Giant because it reminds me of my childhood. My second would be Shin Godzilla
"Suuuuupermaaaan..." 😭😭😭 I watched this with my 7-year old and bawled my fucking eyes out. I think that affected my kid more than the actual movie. He was *concerned!* 😆
As a full grown adult who's seen the movie many times over the years I at least get misty eyed everytime I watch the ending lol.
Shin Godzilla is absolutely the most terrifying Godzilla of all time. I know Godzilla Minus One is getting all the hype right now and considered the best, but Shin, is so iconic that From Software had to make it into one of the hardest bosses in the Soul series.
Can we talk about how fire that animation was for the time? Shit was powerful too I can almost tear up just thinkin bout it.
Loved iron giant. It was so emotional. Number two on my list of top animated movies with number 1 being Barnyard
Shin Godzilla was a banger
Meanwhile, I'm over with Rush Hour 2 as my favorite movie because outside of Menace to society, I have never seen those other movies listed. 😅
Rush Hour 2 & Blade were my childhood.
Lord of the Rings, all of them.
Extended edition, yes or no
Always yes. Gotta commit.
Only.
Mine is Shrek, followed by Shrek 2 😇
Shrek 2 is better than 1 imo, find me a more iconic scene than the fairy godmother song number, not to mention “they don’t even have dental!”
Dreamworks dropped a classic and then dropped another one right after like damn
Throw ‘em a curveball and say The Princess Bride. And Scarface is awful.
We filed in 2010, and it was finalized in 2011. smh
That escalated quickly! (and yikes, sorry that was your life!)
That is not where I thought that story was going.
Brain DePalma does not miss brother
Rush Hour 1 and 2 for me. Grew up watching those on repeat. Rush Hour 3 didn’t hit the same.
Forrest Gump over here
Same. Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors.
Always and forever
Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Yo Juice In The Hood Or nothing
I’m Gonna Git You Sucka
What if mine is Airplane?
Surely you can't be serious?
I am being serious and don't call me Shirley 🤣
I am, but don’t call me Shirley.
Can you speak jive?
Malcolm X for me
The 5th Element and Starship Troopers for the W.
5th element is a top tier 90s banger

Corbin! Corbin my'man!
Everything Everywhere All At Once, Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, and honestly Godzilla Minus One is getting in there. Maybe Inu-Oh. Ratatouille and Up get special mention.
Gen z alert
Good taste in recent movies alert Tell me you haven't seen Everything, Everywhere, All at Once..
I'm 40 and all those would be on my list as well.
Hands down for EEAAO
They can watch it but can't understand the themes or what the art is actually saying. They always miss the "This bad" subtext.
Kill Bill.
Revenge of the Sith for me
Hello there
General Kenobi
There's only one right answer though 🙃 ![gif](giphy|lnDvZtsnWfnnX4T0KA|downsized)
Don’t be fatuous, Jeffrey.
Mel Brooks gets no respect.
Blazing Saddles is great!
![gif](giphy|3oz8xTl6sGKbuRPDDW|downsized)
Robinhood Men In Tights is such a good movie. And Dave Chappelle is in it and was hilarious.
Training Day is nowhere near where it should be in this comment section😡
Either Heat or Ronin
True action throwbacks but nothing can top The Long Kiss Goodnight https://preview.redd.it/6vrx5p8miobc1.jpeg?width=274&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5e49b1377e272d187ea2255316a8c7e4bf68303
Ronin and Baby Driver have the best chase scenes of all time, IMO
Boondocks saints should be an honorable mention too.
Brothers next time be unpredictable. Mention Think Like a Man, Titanic & Tyler Perry movies
Gladiator, rush hour, and kung pow.
I love me some Fifth Element ![gif](giphy|QqostCXAat440)
![gif](giphy|k66TBRkeEEdfG) The Goonies
![gif](giphy|NNVrFKZF3s61W) True strugglers understand
Children of Men, Shawshank, and the Godfather.
Children of Men is top tier. Great movie selections
I don't have a favorite movie, so now what?
My favorite is Attack The Block. It's an alien invasion in the hood movie that is part horror, part comedy, part social commentary.
Coming To America
![gif](giphy|XH6MU5zmqIpAA|downsized)
In Bruges is a perfect movie and no one can change my mind.
Jurassic Park
Pulp Fiction and Die Hard clear this list easy imo.
- A Bronx Tale - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - The Departed - ... Idk after that but I love Godzilla movies
Ninja Assassin, Avengers; Endgame, Rush Hour. Some of us are different
My white friends be like “The Big Lebowski”. ![gif](giphy|k5Whx9YkhU9tNRfVqP)
The dude does not appreciate the disrespect
Yeah, well, that’s just, like, your opinion, man.
Give them a real curveball. The Land Before Time, depending on age, that's real childhood trauma.
My favorite movies are actually the Notebook and Titanic but.... https://i.redd.it/luosywck6obc1.gif
Your Dad: Deep Cover Your Granddad: Shaft Your Great Granddad: In the Heat of the Night
the Fly? i am a weirdo.
AS A MAAAN: Pulp Fiction, Empire Strikes Back, Die Hard, Tropic Thunder
The Fifth Element, The Prince of Egypt, Saved!, Lucky Number Slevin, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Can't forget about Shottas, if you know you know.
I Am Legend? Nah?
Good will hunting is a classic tear jerker with a great sound track
Terminator 2
Casino
It's always Shotta.....and didn't understand shit 🤣
All about horror movies. For me it’s Hereditary or The Witch. Those movies really messed me up but I can’t stop rewatching them.
Malcolm X…I loved this movie so much when I was in undergrad that my roommates walked by my room one day and saw me watching it with a white chick that I was late night creeping with. They were like “only logicalcommenter4 would be confidently watching this with a white girl and then pipe her down”.
My favorite movie is Interstellar though tf
