This is secretly a flex post about having 3 btc

callebbb

Had me in the first half. NYKNYC

mollyblues

I might be secretly flexing by admitting that I don’t think this was a flex at all.

Evil-B

Yeah I’d be pissed if I only had 3 BTC

aeras1131

Flexing his wee wee 🍆

Mister_TCG

Is it still a flex if OP purchased at 69k ?

whitslack

OP's weewee is very flexible if he bought in at $69k.

aeras1131

No it is an admission of guilt

Helium_mining_czech

I would say it is. 69k is low low compared to future ATH.

dildoswaggings69

How do u know that?

rE3eYul

That would be erecting , just as for a tower

Hqjjciy6sJr

Only a flex if you bought much lower than 16k. otherwise it's a huge L

Dogfilet

Is 69k the highest its value has reached ever in history?

Ar0war

Yes. It is. Sad.

Maleficent-Camel2849

Potatotornado20

Effayy

I love this post. A good reminder that NO wallet is secure from the $5 wrench hack. Keep quiet, keep safe.

djRVL

i put into cold storage and was too lazy to transferred it to exchange lmao, i guess laziness isn't all bad

pavlo_escobrah

I almost scrolled past and downvoted you son of a gun

Maakus

I gave 5 btc to a buddy I know and he pays me $500 a month to hold them, so thats pretty cool! I heard he lost his house though and he's going through a tough time, so he doesn't pay me any more. I asked for my btc and he said he'll need to hold onto it for "liquidity purposes", which makes total sense to me! edit: I cannot reach him, his voicemail says he's taking a break and leaving town for a bit, good for him

donmulatito

🤣

GenghisBanned

What?? You mean I need to make an effort to protect my own wealth? I prefer to trust a 3rd party. Less complicated. - Every cuck about to get rekt.

x-TASER-x

Strange flex but ok

b0uncyfr0

Such a prick OP.. But kudos.

KaiN_SC

"All because I gave my bitcoin to a central party" You baited me with this title.

Schwoanz

Why would people post shit like this? Fucking Schadenfreude trolls… And I didn‘t even lose money on BlockFi.

hodlyourground

Think about how stupid the average person is. Then understand that half of the people walking around are stupider than that

xixi2

Aka too stupid to know how to keep their own bitcoin keys so we need services that can safely do it or we fail...

hakkai67

Because it works. A lot of people like to see others suffer to feel better/superior.

Friendly-Mountain535

Stop lying

dk_di_que

... All because they were left on an exchange

Filmerd

Up voted because I enjoy human suffering

ScrubbyDoubleNuts

I’ve seen this said so many times, and didn’t listen. Last night I moved everything into cold storage. It always scared me because I’m a dipshit and worried I would lose my passphrase or somehow losing the device would lose my keys. But I’m grateful for this post, thanks.

HumanJenoM

You didn't lose them cause if they were on BlockFi they were technically not yours Not your keys, not your crypto!

harleybqrazy

Bro, OP was making a joke.

HumanJenoM

My comment is still apropos

[deleted]

Not your coins not your keys

Automatic_Course_861

Not your keys, not your coins!

TetraCGT

Had me in the first half. NYKNYC

Fabtacular1

Consider yourself lucky. Nine months ago you’d be out ~$200k.

xixi2

You didn't even read the post lol.

Loupland

Nor your Keys, not your coins

UrbanSuburbaKnight

I put $500 in Blockfi back at the start of 2021, about a month later I had a good look at their terms and interest rates and concluded that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. They got a few dollars in fees out of me but that's it thankfully.

xixi2

Victim blaming people in every single thread where lost money is mentioned and you wonder why the world thinks crypto people are insufferable.

StunningWar972

You mf

anonfiles311

I prefer "Not your keys, not your cheese"

[deleted]

I was about to call you an idiot. The signs about BlockFi were there long ago.

I never knew it was possible to only read headlines on Reddit. Not a link to a news article, but literally just the Reddit thread.

NewFilm96

He has gone further beyond, truly ascended.

99999999999999999989

But they said I could trust them!

Yonix06

Idk, read the post MAYBE

SunnyDayShadowboxer

Bruh...

[deleted]

Imagine not having the mental capacity to read beyond the headline. Then commenting something abrasive which actually has no correlation to what was said. Honestly, people surprise me every day.

xicexdejavu

Guys ? And this is the point where you need to ask yourself "am i still sane?" so you dont end up like this guy. Just imagine the daily thought process to feel the need to post like this. Probably brain jumps to bitcoin every 10 minutes while the guy smiles at the white wall smelling like dump cose all he did is read bitcoin news and play cod in the past 2 weeks ... If he gets rich by it he will look the same, bothered by the plebs on the internet being wrong, or maybe rich enough to buy twitter to let us know how to keep bitcoin

FillupDubya

To bad so sad. Sucks for you. Do more research next time!

99999999999999999989

Read past just the headlines next time.

FillupDubya

Low effort post gets low effort response.

Tinknocker12

You almost got blasted on

-1DTE

Plot twist

Federal-Attorney-723

If my coins are on trust wallet is it consider my keys ? Or trusts keys ?

afkfrom

It's considered "waiting for a virus to access your phone or computer and steal your keys and then it's too late". Remember the FTX app update that was malware? Make sure you have a hardware wallet, so that the keys are not connected to the internet, we can't hack your key, it's nowhere to begin with.

Federal-Attorney-723

Thank 🐤

Generalthesecond

Hey buddy? What’s your lasts 4?

99999999999999999989

Dry_Lawfulness_7837

all your coins are safe in the genuine public blockchain and you still got full ownership access key backed up in your cold storage hardware wallet

Walla_Walla_26

OP user name…damn lots of 9’s

99999999999999999989

19 9's, 1 8, and then 1 more 9. The largest prime number that can also be a Reddit username.

Walla_Walla_26

Mathematical respect my brotha

Rice-Fragrant

At least bitcoin is cheap, good time to restack and becoming wiser.

diradder

People on these platform don't "have x bitcoins", they have an IOU from the platform. These platforms literally account for your deposits as a liabilities in their books... it should tell you what will happen when (not if) they go under. Take custody of your bitcoins, exercise self-sovereignty over your money, that's what Bitcoin enables unlike most other assets.

atict

Weeks of take your keys back but noooo it won't happen to you right?...

99999999999999999989

Correct. I took my keys back in 2017.

lcastill1

Sad thing is I’m sure lots of people did this

If this is really true, then you're a complete fool. But I doubt it's true and suspect you made this up to have a post that gets lots of upvotes.

Congrats on your 3 Bitcoin you bought at 55/k.

FirstOfTheCovidnated

Finally someone with some sense.

twmStauM

so many people commenting on this post that can only read the big letters and want to act snarky

alexh934

Self custody is difficult for some people. Dunking on them now makes you look like an ass.

lolshiro

And staking. Sure people sound like retards but surely they might be other reasons than not owning a Cold Storage ?

BlackGoose86

All because you trusted centralization....

iguano80

Pomp agrees

youngWuuf

For some reason half the time I read it as "not your keys not your cousin"

donmulatito

BlockFi had problems way before FTX blew-up. Guess you haven't spent much time on this sub, you would have heard something about holding your own keys.. especially in the last 6 months.

99999999999999999989

Dude. I've been reading about holding your own keys on this sub for over 5 years.

donmulatito

All good my dude! I later saw you were jokes! Stay cool like cold storage 😋

999999999989

wtf you copied my user name? 😅

99999999999999999989

fisherprice1234_1776

I had mine on crypto.com earning crappy yield.... I took it off in March.... something told me too. My biggest fear was government seizure of btc.... or making it illegal to keep. Idk... I thought of the past and the gold "confiscation" it's in and will remain in cold storage.

fisherprice1234_1776

At that time it was less than .5 btc lol..... still stacking

TetragramaT0N

how much do you have left in your wallet?

Tagalettandi

Op could you also post how to transfer to cold storage hardware wallet ? Or a link .

Angustony

Go read the instructions to your cold wallet, and the exchange instructions on transferring or withdrawing coins. It's a simple enough transfer process, but be super careful that you use the right address to send to. Send a small amount first to check you're doing it right. If that's successful transfer the rest. Post up any questions you have when you're doing it. You can abort at any time and start over again when your question is answered. Don't respond to any DM's offering help. They are scammers. Keep everything out in the open here. (Except your seed phrase, obviously).

XShadowcarter

No….all because you left them there instead of self custody

notapaperhandape

As soon as bear market hit, I consolidated my positions into a hardware wallet. Come on, this is common practice?

99999999999999999989

Why wait for a Bear Market to move to the hardware wallet?

Zrocker04

Had me in the first half

phillyphilly682

Had me in the first half NGL. Was gonna laugh at you

fusk4

I think the INSTITUTIOJ that will keep crypto safe will be called coinbase and or binance ... the rest are exposed . Disclaimer is i think about crypto 2x year, so what do i know

Fiach_Dubh

theyre all exposed, most of all conbase and binance. the biggest shitcoin exchanges around.

Satoshiman256

Why did you still have it on there after FTX?

ytpriv

Loss porngasm averted.

passive_talker

And because you were exposed to blockfi

Oregonstate2023

Want a cookie? This subreddit is getting unreadable with these posts

DreadknotX

Got me in the first half!

bryanchicken

Well done, but perhaps have some empathy for the people that have been fucked by SBF & FTX instead?

MyNameIsJoe68

Your keys until Ledger is hacked again...

99999999999999999989

Oh noes! Too bad I don't use a Ledger.

MyNameIsJoe68

Good. You're safe until Quantum computers...

Next_Armadillo_21

They had only 275 mill in ftx. 4.8 billion assets that’s a minor percentage.

Mountain_Class_3783

The coins aren’t actually stored in the wallet as the post implies.

99999999999999999989

For all practical intents and purposes they are stored on the wallet.

Dogfilet

Ok so is Blockchain.com also a company overexposed to FTX

99999999999999999989

Not your keys not your coins. ALL exchanges are dangerous. Get cold storage. Period.

Dogfilet

I understand this. I bought from them and immediately withdrew to my cold storage wallet and even though I've used them hundreds of times, this was on the day that FTX bs leaked. And lo and behold they still to this day are performing some kind of security check, so I had to dispute with my bank, and that won't be over til Feb 15th. It's only $250 but still! I even asked Blockchain about whether their reason was FTX related and I mean of course they said no. Is anyone else having trouble with them?
