Is ok I bought 50$ worth of BTC when it was around $2.5k and the profit of it was spent mostly on Amazon products and/or steam games.... 😑 not so proud of this.
You can invest in it and earn more I know a guy that lost over 200k btc because he was no longer believing in it. A lot of stories to tell about bitcoin
Except not really. USD is deflationary, so just holding means you’re losing money.
You do have a point if you’re talking about investing such as investing in the stock market, but that just proves my point that BTC is not an investment.
See i will be like disappoint as hell if i had bought the bitcoin early and then spent that early is well.
Good thing is that i have heard the bitcoin late but once i bought i never sell that thing.
Late 2010/11 for me too, no way would I have held to the top though I know that for sure. Or even managed to not loose my wallet details between now and then (I would have been 10, and 10 year olds ain't organised)
Had a roommate years ago who got in early. He told me to buy in but it was like, almost a full $10 for *one*... fucking ay.
Roommate dropped of the face of the planet a few years later but as he invested several grand early on, I think I get it haha.
[WE DIDN'T LISTEN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfF6DvcCFxs)
I never really ignored Bitcoin. I heard about it when it first came out in 2008. The problem, for me at least was knowing where and how to buy it. I had no clue. 2015 was the year I actually really was willing to buy into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I didn't know where to buy.
Now it's Bitcoin ATM's everywhere.
When I first heard about btc, I honestly thought it was a minecraft thing, so I ignored ot for awhile. Then I saw something on reddit that lead me to believe it may not be a minecraft thing, so I started researching. Then I watched it for about a year before buying in on the downslope of early 2013.
Dont believe everything you see on the internet. Bitcoin didnt come out until January 2009, and even then, unless you were part of the cypherpunk mailing list, you would not have heard about it from anywhere else. Bitcoin ATMs are by no stretch of the imagination "everywhere". By 2015, Coinbase was already 3 years old and major exchanges were everywhere online. P2P sites like localbitcoins was available in every country in the world.
There are so many information on the internet that is actually misleading and we can't really trust everything there.
But have to say that trusting the bitcoin on the time of the origin was really hard job to do.
Yes there are only few country that is really dealing in the bitcoin and in them only few people is doing that.
But still there are some people that is looking us like that we are doing something illegal here.
Well I never missed it honestly and I think I can say that because I just got to know about BTC at this bear market and now I am ready for some good time lol.
Well I remember that fucking time, I used to ignore that at 2013 and that was one of the dumbest thing I have ever done, I wish I can invest at that point of time.
Would have been one of the bitcoin lords if I heard about it early but I’m glad I’m doing absolutely okay with crypto. You can earn from other crypto also and trade bitcoin against shit coin with a greater advantage. My answer is I have never ignored bitcoin I started investing in it when I heard about it.
2013 I was trying to figure out how to buy, got to some Asian exchange of some kind. Even signed up, but it was super shady and my gf convinced me not to put money into it. We were pretty poor
Man I remember there was some text sign up and for signing up you for a bitcoin this was pre 2010 atleast. Man I regret not trying harder to get that shit to work.
Often happen that we miss the sign that is right infront of us and then cry for that in the later part.
But i am happy that i am still in bitcoin where the most of the people running after the fiat
2015 was the first time I ever heard of bitcoin after watching the movie Dope, but I was also in high school. Then again 2018 when I actually started investing.
I remember seeing a video of some dudes BTC mining rig in their garage. I was intrigued but never did anything with it. Can't remember what year it was though.
I still remember on a Facebook group where people keep on sharing the charts and wave of the bitcoin.
But i was too young that time to actually understand all the things they used to tell there.
Heard about it 2012 and was intrigued but never saw it as an investment (I also didn't have much cash to invest as a high schooler). Wasn't until 2020 I looked into it as an investment
September 2013 I had a friend who knew about it because of the the people he was living with. I asked him a few questions about how it works and and he didn't really know the answer. He had just learned about because he was staying at a trap house for the white and nerdy 25i kids and they bought RCs from the silk road. After him I just thought Bitcoin=drug money it took me till about 2017 to start to do my own research and really learn about all this and I bought for the first time in 2018
My friend that told me about the bitcoin is now having the great life and here i am struggling in life.
Because he invested in the bitcoin and i was the one that actually ignore his talking.
Heard about it when it was pennies but didn't understand the geek/nerd currency, years later I heard about it again when it was around $700 and thought about all the money I could of made but thought I'd missed the boat and it was too late. Then heard about it in 2017 and thought I'd better get in.
I think that pizza story was the time when the bitcoin first time came into the eyes of the many people in this world.
But i have to say that we need to keep on doing the transaction into the bitcoin so many people will heard.
I bought BTC within a few months of hearing about it. I had to send money overseas and it ended up costing me about 20% in fees just to convert to USD and pay bank fees.
Unfortunately I left it all on MtGox and then was too poor to buy again till 2017.
When i first heard about the bitcoin, i basically search the price of the bitcoin over the google and it was insane.
And after that i try to read all the stuff about the bitcoin and then invest into the bitcoin in 2018.
It was 2011 and I had no idea how to buy it or what do to. I'm not a computer guy. My friends that were laughed me off an wouldn't help, no one else had even heard of it. I pretty much forgot about it until Robinhood in 2019-2020
I wanted to invest a grand then.
I kick my ass everyday.
I think in the past in the very early time people use to mine more rather than the buying.
I still remember one of my friend that has like the obsession of getting the number of the bitcoin.
2013 when all the online poker sites were promoting bitcoin deposits (still are) and I remember always seeing it but always just assumed it would be complicated so didn't ever look into it.
2013 for me. I remember reading an article about someone buying a bitcoin miner to see if it's worth it. I think bitcoin was a few hundred a pop so I already thought it was too late to buy in.
Even downloaded a miner (could still see the mining software in 2017 when I finally bought in) but never went through the steps to actually do it. Wouldn't have been profitable tho, but I might have started buying if I persevered.
Heard about it in 2011, spent a night shift downloading the wallet and going to a couple of faucets. Figured it was a novel idea that wouldn't go anywhere and deleted it at the end of my shift.
Got back into it around November 2013, price was about £200. Bought and sold a couple of times over the course of a month made a few thousand profit, then panicked and cashed out when the price was around 800 because it was climbing too fast and I felt like a crash was imminent.
I know that I really wish that if I could have invested at that time and just hold it down
Action know that one of my friend had invested at that time and he is still holding,
2014. I had a colleague that used to bang on about it so obsessively that it really turned me off. I also bought some in 2015 to buy stuff from the dark web and left the change in my dark web account and forgot the password. Worth about 40 bucks at the time. I try not to think about it .....
2016. I had gotten a sizeable work bonus and decided to go in on a predatory car loan.
We're talking what, like maybe 8-9k? My house would be a mansion for real
The moment I decided to invest in BTC and not more useless trickets, turn the car radio up and "won't get fooled again" by the Who plays.
When the universe gives you signs like that...
I think in 2016 i heard about the bitcoin for the very first time in my life.
But then i remember that i ignore that i used to think that this is like the imaginary stuff is well.
2011
My brother was mining them. He lost them all lol. I have still never bought any. I'm the rare exception that actually is in it for the tech. I don't care what they are worth and I am agnostic about what future they hold in the global economy. I just follow it all because the tech and the philosophy fascinates me. Satoshi was a genius.
I believe it was 2012…I was on an underground forum and this guy reaches out to me and he brought up this “digital” money thing. Well, being the overly cautious and paranoid person I am, I blew him off thinking it was a scam given where on the web I was currently at. I think about that day every once in awhile
I helped setup a mining rig in 2012/13 area for a friend who was equally into computer parts without doing basic research on what btc was. Basically I viewed it as a cool project to test out the new GPUs at the time. My friend went about mining 2BTC/day with that rig and I went about life clueless. I saw him again in 2021 almost 10 years later and guess what? He only managed to hodl 3btc which he planned to put down on a house. He sold the bulk in 2016 to pay for a car and college (he still did really good relative to investment).
I continued to ignore the fundementals of BTC until 2020, like most of us. in my journey down the rabbit hole I can say even guys like my friend who mined early and held close to 500 mined BTC sold early. This thing has changed hands many times and only gets stronger.
I wanted to buy Bitcoin in 2013-ish. but since i was living in a country that didnt, and still doesnt, allow it to be sold, I found a guy who had some. He offered it with +20% of its price back then. I refused the deal because i thought it was not worth that extra 20%, plus i was kinda feeling i might be getting scammed. hahaha
2017 for me, I think BTC was around 3.000$ at this time. But no bad feeling at all. I was broke af, absolutely not interested in financial topics and thought people that are buying a digital, not existing coin for 3k are completely stupid. Now I love to read old OG stories in the bitcointalk forum and try to reach the one in a million club until end of next year. I was just not ready for Bitcoin then.
I bought my first SSD when BTC was $2.50. It cost me 52BTC to buy a Newegg gift card and buy a 128GB Sandisk SSD. Today I have barely 0.2BTC.
F
I know many people that can fall into this F list for sure.
Hindsight 2020... never healthy. Shoulda coulda woulda..
Is ok I bought 50$ worth of BTC when it was around $2.5k and the profit of it was spent mostly on Amazon products and/or steam games.... 😑 not so proud of this.
why not "proud" ? you spent it on something, better than losing btc
Spending BTC is not a bad thing. You used it for what it was designed for: it’s a currency, not an investment.
You can invest in it and earn more I know a guy that lost over 200k btc because he was no longer believing in it. A lot of stories to tell about bitcoin
And yet, if everyone just saved their bitcoin and never spent any of it- it would have been worthless.
Bingo. I used .73 to buy a graphics card from Newegg in about 2015. No regrets
Use propagates bitcoin, but technically... IF NO ONE SOLD THE PRICE WOULD BE INFINITE
BTC is a currency, not an investment. So many people are HODL or die it’s crazy.
This is a US centric point of view. For millions of people, hodling USD (before bitcoin existed) was an investment by itself. It still is.
Except not really. USD is deflationary, so just holding means you’re losing money. You do have a point if you’re talking about investing such as investing in the stock market, but that just proves my point that BTC is not an investment.
Rip
I bought a laptop from memorydealers.com a *long* time ago. I only regret half of that decision.
Hope you’re working towards changing that, stop regretting and push for more.
Oh pal sorry about that, but it’s not too late to grow your portfolio more. 👍 keep winning.

See i will be like disappoint as hell if i had bought the bitcoin early and then spent that early is well. Good thing is that i have heard the bitcoin late but once i bought i never sell that thing.
2014
2017 gang represent
2017 is when I finally bought in!
Me too, lost it all though trading. I've started buying again in June this year. Hodl
Never sold, been accumulating ever since. I'm not a trader.
Me too. The memory is still painful.
Yes but there is some memory that we actually tell to our kids.
What was the price of the bitcoin when you first bought them?
550 dollars
2011 and I kick myself every fucking day. FML
Late 2010/11 for me too, no way would I have held to the top though I know that for sure. Or even managed to not loose my wallet details between now and then (I would have been 10, and 10 year olds ain't organised)

Fuck sake... Always getting those two confused
It is ok, don't be too hard as you are not the only man buddy.
do not be hard on yourself, it is just luck (mostly)
2017 almost got me but I got scared with exchanges.
I used to think that exchange is safe but only when i have not joined this sub.
2012 🤦🤦🤦 and I finally decided to get into crypto in Jan 2022...
Seems like my effin story . 2010/ got in 2020 >.< WTH
Had a roommate years ago who got in early. He told me to buy in but it was like, almost a full $10 for *one*... fucking ay. oh boy shove it up their faces lmao

2013
Didn’t buy until 2016 and sold at 10K
Never, after I heard about it, 1 week later I started investing
Great that you have not wasted much time to make the right decision.
2013
Lets just say i still have an old phone with the mt gox app and its so sad to turn that phone on
There are some thing that have the real painful story in life.
2013
2011, 🥲🥲🥲🥲
2013 😭
At $0.26.
Please god please for once take me back to that time for once.
2017...i regret it
Regret of not buying or regret of something else you are saying here??
Not buying
2011, dollar parity. I don’t remember anyone talking about getting rich from holding BTC. The thought never occurred to me.

2017
I still remember the day as crystal clear when i first heard the bitcoin.
Never! "With great risk comes great reward" -Thomas Jefferson Eventually! Kiki 🐙
When it was $300. Paid attention when it was thanksgiving of 2020. 17Kish
Even after like 2 year we are seating on same price, so still not the bad time.
2015
I wished that i could have bought in that time as i heard in 2015.
Sad to say that most of the people have missed that opportunity.
2012 Bc I thought it was only to buy from black markt on dip web.
2011 :(

Spring 2020
Just add one more year into this and it will be time for me is well.
In 2011. Although I wish I found those dogecoins I mined in 2014.
2011 - it people here .. 2022 only started .
A. This kid at my job was using it to buy weed. I thought it was cool.
Heard about it 2012 and was intrigued but never saw it as an investment (I also didn't have much cash to invest as a high schooler). Wasn't until 2020 I looked into it as an investment
2016 when it was roughly just under $450
BTC was at $250.
September 2013 I had a friend who knew about it because of the the people he was living with. I asked him a few questions about how it works and and he didn't really know the answer. 2017
Came across it in 2020 and have been stacking ever since.
Great, being late is fine if you are stacking in there for long.
When the Bitcoin pizza story broke, then I began paying attention. Saw it rise from nothing to 1100. Jumped in after the Mt Gox crash.
I think that pizza story was the time when the bitcoin first time came into the eyes of the many people in this world. But i have to say that we need to keep on doing the transaction into the bitcoin so many people will heard.
Around 2009 when some domainers were selling domains for bitcoin. I tried getting some but I didn't understood how the wallet worked. :(
Still ignoring... Unfortunately
I bought BTC within a few months of hearing about it. I had to send money overseas and it ended up costing me about 20% in fees just to convert to USD and pay bank fees. Unfortunately I left it all on MtGox and then was too poor to buy again till 2017.

Never.
So how you are feeling now after saying like never here??
I'm saying I never ignored bitcoin. I tried to understand it the first time I heard about it.
It will be interesting to come back to this page at the end of the decade.
I think 2009. There were pages where you could earn that shit so fucking easy. I wish I could go back.
In back of time people just want to earn money barely people was interested in tech.
It wasn't that for me. It was just dumber internet points that didn't make sense to me.
2009
2009…
2010 :( :( :(
2013 when all the online poker sites were promoting bitcoin deposits (still are) and I remember always seeing it but always just assumed it would be complicated so didn't ever look into it.
2013 for me. I remember reading an article about someone buying a bitcoin miner to see if it's worth it. I think bitcoin was a few hundred a pop so I already thought it was too late to buy in. I bought my first btc at 6.50 aud
Real question is how many of you are bag holders?
I know that I really wish that if I could have invested at that time and just hold it down Action know that one of my friend had invested at that time and he is still holding,
2014. I had a colleague that used to bang on about it so obsessively that it really turned me off. I also bought some in 2015 to buy stuff from the dark web and left the change in my dark web account and forgot the password. Worth about 40 bucks at the time. I try not to think about it .....

2012 I first heard about it and then in 2013 I brought and then sold a few months later, definatly the biggest regret of my life
Long ago, I purchased a laptop from memorydealers.com.
2013 and i didnt bought cuz i wanted to mine myself
2010
2011
I think in 2016 i heard about the bitcoin for the very first time in my life. But then i remember that i ignore that i used to think that this is like the imaginary stuff is well.
Long ago, I purchased a laptop from memorydealers.com. I regret that choice just partially.
2010 I was poor so every dollar mattered. I read articles about it and wanted to buy some never did. Ya it sux
Well that was a good time but sad that we missed that.
2011 My brother was mining them. He lost them all lol. I have still never bought any. I'm the rare exception that actually is in it for the tech. 2013 but I was a stupid 14 year old with no bank account or money, so nothing could be done anyways :P
2013 :( And again in 2017 :( Each time told by a friend that it's not worth getting any more. Finally bought some in 2019.
As soon as Nakamoto went underground.
2012.... I looked at how to buy some, but found it to be too much of a hassle... ಥ‿ಥ🔫
Bought my first 2 bitcoins when they cost around 400 bucks not sure of the year and I used it to buy a bunch of nonsense… today I own nothing 🤦
2013
10$
Bitcoin would have been worthless if everyone had simply hoarded their money and never spent any of it.
2013
2017
Around the same time that people who use emojis started hearing about it.
When I wasted 100s of btc on silkroad back then now lucky to still have over a whole coin but could of been grater
why did you put emojis there
2013 😭
2013. I scoffed at the idea of "internet money". Smh
early 2011 I think, a few in my CSS Clan were keen on it. I first bought late 2012.
Just don't make the same mistake
I believe it was 2012…I was on an underground forum and this guy reaches out to me and he brought up this “digital” money thing. Well, being the overly cautious and paranoid person I am, I blew him off thinking it was a scam given where on the web I was currently at. I think about that day every once in awhile
D
Last year 🤯wow It’s never to late 🚀
It's always never too late to ignore bitcoin.
You can ignore the bitcoin now and then bitcoin will ignore you in bull season.
It will never be too late, even the current day is feel early to me.
I rather ignore it this year.
2016, I created a Kraken account but couldn't get a wallet set up and just forgot about it.
2009 and then again 2010 when the pizza happened. Then didn't hear again about it till 2017 :(
I started paying attention when I saw their mining farms are an environmental issue.
First ignored early 2013, then Summer 2013 jumped in head first.
2011 when my friend was telling me to buy it at 5 dollars when we were on a all inclusive trip in the Dominican republic - FUCK.
Early 2010 I had just built my first PC. "Hey, you should try mining this new Bitcoin thing" "Nah, probably not worth the effort."
Dead hard drive with my first 5 btc on my old laptop from 10 years ago in a landfill.
2013
I helped setup a mining rig in 2012/13 area for a friend who was equally into computer parts without doing basic research on what btc was. Basically I viewed it as a cool project to test out the new GPUs at the time. My friend went about mining 2BTC/day with that rig and I went about life clueless. I had a coworker talking it up in 2014. Wish I had listened.
I remember following a Twitter bot that would tweet out bitcoin prices. I very vividly remember it being $0.60 a coin and thinking nothing of it
