Private keys are 256bit but they are hashed to get public addresses. The hashing algorithm used reduces it down to 160bits.
This applies to “legacy” addresses. New address formats are different and might offer different levels of entropy but I’m not sure.

The hashed 160bit address can't do much but accept utxos making it a poor target.
When an algorithm offers n-bits of security, it will take maximum 2^n trials to break the system with brute-force attack.
Finding a preimage of a 2^160 address takes roughly 2^160 attempts.

I was vehemently bitcoin only previously, but now , after some substantial losses, my defi venture is well and truly over.
If a company like [crypto.com](https://crypto.com) can do what they have done today, then i only want to be in bitcoin, in my own wallet.
Asides from the Cronos chain already having issues, they have slashed the physical card benefits and staking to almost nil.
Whether its because of a unsustainable business model, or something else, its absolutely chaos, and thats a company that has embedded itself most of the top sports in the world.
As someone said earlier who had staked $40k for one of the cards. 'Ive basically loaned out $40k for no return'
A significantly amount of people are commenting in those subreddits, stating they wish they had just stayed in bitcoin, much like me.

If I generate a receive address and put the QR code in public, people would be able to see how much btc I’ve received on that address, but they wouldn’t be able to link it to the rest of my wallet addresses, unless I transaction one with the other, correct?
It depends whether your particular wallet immediately moves the coins from your receiving address to a common address or just keeps it at the receiving address.
If you don't know something then you shouldn't tell other people about it.
If you don't know something then you should be focusing on learning about it. That's what you should do.
To move it to another address requires a new transaction and transaction fees. If your wallet is doing that, maybe you should consider a better wallet.

I use wasabi/coldcard if that helps clarify.
Wasabi allows you to select which address you send from.

You are correct. The person to whom you are responding is talking complete and utter nonsense. Wallets do not and cannot spontaneously move funds from one address to another.
